I think it's time to forget about 2013 also, the most optimistic of us hoped for a release announcement by now if it was going to come in 2013.

f*ck you rockstar, f*ck you.

Guys, don't get mad at R*, there are many reasons why PC port is delayed:

- Console sales are higher than PC sales.

- Piracy on PC is huge and often takes a hit on PC sales... and on Console sales as well (a guy with a Gaming PC and a PS3 could choose to Pirate the game for PC instead of buying it for PS3).

- PC needs more optimization: the hardware/software configuration is very varied and very standardized like on a console.

So they often release the game on PC much later to cash-in a few extra bucks. They don't announce it to prevent multi-platform gamers (PC + console) to speculate on a PC version to pirate.

Fortunately, with the increased use of online features and with Steam, PC market is expanding and becoming much more viable.

Forgot that piracy thing for f*ck sake already. On the 17th Sept. the first thing that apperaed on torrent sites was GTA V fartbox version. Piracy rate is almost the same on pc and console. So this cant be a reason. The reason PC version is always delayed is purely business. PC version is nearly done or maybe fully done. R* just holds it back. Because they can hold it. (which is a very stupid move, imo.)

Maybe GTAO optimization problems can be a factor that affects the release, but not that much.

P.S.: I cant believe there are still people who believes that its a port..

13th Sept... First torrent up, 4 days before the official release date.

promise to lessen the gap between PC and console

And I still can't locate the original source of that quote. I suspect someone might have spread false information some time ago.

image gap closed blabla

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the GTA series... So they think they closed the gap once, thats enough for the community. Maybe theyre gonna close it 10 years later again.

That quote applies to MP3, on that game they indeed closed the gap in release date. Nowhere does it say that this would also be the case for any future games.

There is no such thing as used games on for example steam tho. ;)

And I know allot of people that have a flashed console, they can even play online easily with cracked games.

So console players are the pirates and get away with it.(with buying second hand copies included)

as I've stated weeks ago, huge majority pc pirates are coming from THE NON POTENTIAL MARKET, that will not affect the target market sale.

That quote applies to MP3, on that game they indeed closed the gap in release date. Nowhere does it say that this would also be the case for any future games.

You do know that both Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2 were first released on PC and months later on consoles. So what gap are they really talking about? Dude, they are talking in a general sense. Not for a specific game.

Indeed. I don't know why these idiots talking about it if they have no clue what is going on. R* Games made Max Payne 3. They didn't make 1 nor 2 and both games were first released on PC.

I pirate stuff occasionally, usually as a stand in for a Demo, then make decisions based on what I experienced, Its how I decided to not waste money on SR4.

One thing puzzles me... If they release the PC version late to optimize profits why give that money away? What about the micro-transactions? Isn't that enough? If PC was out they'd be making more now... Especially on PC...

I mean just look at WoW and LoL and DoTa 2??? PC players spend thousands of Dollars,Euros and Pounds on those games and IMO this is way better... If i was R* I'd bring that announcement soon...

Almost the same? Where did you get those numbers? Piracy on consoles is much less accessible than on PC. For starter, you need to MOD you console to pirate a game. That just puts many people off, on PC you don't need to modify anything in your hardware or core software.

Secondly, you can download a game in less than a night, install it and play it on the PC. On a console, you have to burn it under certain conditions, or find a Hard Drive you can format (depends on the console and the type of hack you've done on it). Not to mention that modded consoles have issues when it comes things like updating the console's software, or being ban online, or some cases, bricking the damn thing.

So NO, it's not the same f***ing thing. Piracy on PC is a major factor, wether you like it or not.

Please note, that I'm not saying it's the only reason, but it IS a reason.

PC players can't play online with pirated games( as far as I know). Console its easy peasy. So console pirates win anyways. + no one ever talks about console pirates, while there is allot of em.

Ok, back to topic now :)

PC announcement next week is my guess. They have nothing to wait for anymore.

- Earned allot of money with consoles on initial release

- Will have earned most of the money they can earn on asia after the JAP release.

- We know that it has already been in development for a while, so probably about done right now.

- Online bugs mostly fixed, so no bad rep anymore cause of it.

so I wonder if this is it. :D

Another analyst on these forums:-))) And I trust Intel’s director of marketing who says that the main reason of delay is that Sony and Microsoft paid money for delay. As part of their marketing campaign which purpose is to convince the sheep that their consoles are worth something.

Current-gen consoles - it's sh*tty garbage 8 years old hardware that in the tech world no one will buy.

How do you suppose to sell this garbage? Yes, trying to convince sheep that it's worth it.

They are selling garbage old hardware at very inflated prices and paying Rockstar to delay the game on PC. That's the main reason why there is a delay for PC version
