PC Version of GTA V Discussion

GTA V will be coming sooner than 6 months like GTA IV did. Why? the pc version needed to be made in 6 months. But since the pc version for GTA V is already done or very near done we probaly see it somewhere in march or february and the announcement in november or october. It's basically the same as how Max Payne 3 was developed. lets hope we will get it 1 month after the announcement...

hey this is alittle off topic, check this vid out INSANE sh*t

That pretentious dubstep was pretty annoying, lol.

Aside from that, what is this supposed to be exactly? The tone reminds me of District 9, strangely.

I think it was just a short clip showing what this company can do, i see it as potentially wars of the future kind of thing, a robotic soldier take over o0

cool vid non the less

back to gtav for pc >.>

It is 12:40 PM October 10th for me (CET).

It should be 7:40 PM October 10th in Japan (JST).

So, the game should be released in Japan now, correct?

I'm going to be optimistic and assume the Intel guy was right and that Microsh*t and Sony paid for say, a month of exclusivity.

That ends in about a week...which would still coincide with the Nvidia dudes "slip of the tongue" (yeah right) which stated a FALL release. Most likely an announcement in October, and a release in November/early December. So sometime in the next week or so we should hear SOMETHING.

That's about as optimistic as I can get at this point. If October goes by without a peep from those assholes then I'm flushing 2013 down the toilet.

Pretty much my view on the situation, as well.

Eh, at least in the worst case scenario; we'll be caught up in all the new releases, which will hopefully make time go by much faster.

I still wish cryosleep was real, though.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/microsoft-paid-75-million-to-stop-gtaiv-ps3-exclusivity/1100-6262370/

When you look at this article MS payed take-two a f*ck ton of cash to bring gtaiv to xbox360, who says it cant be done the other way around,

"Microsoft paid Take-Two [interactive] to make Grand Theft Auto IV non-exclusive," he told the publication. "GTA IV was going to be a PS3 exclusive, but Microsoft paid Rockstar and Take-Two to make it a non-exclusive, and they paid them a lot."

Microsoft paid $75 million to stop GTAIV PS3 exclusivity?

As far as I know, Microsoft paid and got 6 monhts exclusivity on TBOGT and one year on TLAD. I doubt either sony or Microsoft have paid Rockstar this time to prevent the game from being released on pc, I don't see why they should even tried this.

I am confused, though.

If they were paid to keep the game console exclusive, was this a team effort of some kind or something? I can't think of one company that would pay someone to keep GTA V exclusive to both consoles. Did both Sony and Xbox pay or what?

This is all theoretical, of course. But if it were to actually be the truth...

For the record; I honestly think what the Intel guy said was just an assumption based on GTA's history. Like his "2 cents" on the matter, so to speak.

I can picture a cigar smoke filled board room with half empty whiskey glasses, i think they came to the agreement that a lot of people who play consoles dab into pc gaming aswell, why not milk the market for what its got make the public buy twice, split the console exclusivity fee 50-50 half ms half sony to take-two, just so they could maximise possible console and game sales?

yeah i dunno tho, think about how big intel is and for the CEO(not sure of his position) to come out and say that without some sort of backlash from his company (as of this moment), and surprisingly C* haven't asked him to retract his statement so that could mean A) he is wrong or B) C* want the hype to generate again?

That would be the first time I've ever heard of two competitors pulling a stunt like that as well, and yeah, I seriously doubt it happened that way. The only thing that makes me question it is the silence from R*. I just don't get why they're being so quiet about it unless of course they're contractually obligated to maybe. I can't recall any other developers who have been so secretive and hush hush about a PC port. Especially when we already know one exists.

The whole thing is just odd.

I was looking through that build log, and it seems there are no bugs anymore for the pc. Does this mean it's done?

Could be.. But it could only be the content from consoles that is put on there and they are adding PC exclusive stuff after it was out..

Sorry for my spelling i have no checker here..

This is great news.

They either;

1. Became aware of people finding those all over the place. In which case, they removed them because they knew that those reports being exposed is a very bad thing for them (Further confirming that the PC version is as real as my rock-hard erection at the thought of playing the game on PC).

2. Just moved to an internal server regardless of current events, as Bagel said.

3. Fixed up all the bugs indefinitely and have hopefully decided that the game is ready to be announced for the PC.
