Things is, without capping FPS, you could get 60 but sometimes will drop to 40. I used to cap my FPS to 38, and yet sometimes it dropped to 26. This kills the gameplay.

This is why I capped GTA IV at 30 instead of 40 or 50. It will drop to 25 fps even with my 30 fps cap. But when it does drop, the stutter isn't as bad. I mean, going from 60 fps to 30 in a second is like an entire frame being skipped, making it look like the game froze for that second.

Could you tell me more about your experience playing GTA IV and MP 3? I want to be sure that i can take your word and not prepare for dissapointment because if you were one of those who could actually play GTA IV then obviously you wouldn't see the difference in MP 3...

When Max Payne 3 came out I was able to max it out on a dual core i5 and a 9800 GT with 4GB of RAM at a constant 60 fps from start to finish. On GTA IV with the same system I was able to max the settings apart from shadows from very high to high at 30-40 fps from start to finish.

Hmmm...

@sir kingston, maybe you should pipe it down a bit, people that do not agree with your views aren't by definition uninformed...

I did not say that people who do not agree with my views are uninformed (wich, by the way, in a sense, anyone who does not know of another person's views is uninformed). What i was saying is that certain people did not seem to acknowledge that GTA IV is a bad port so i had to inform them because they were uninformed. Please explain to me why i should "pipe down" for reiterating a fact that has been stated many times to people who weren't aware of it?

I still think there was not much wrong with GTAIV. As said I was able to get consistent and decent framerates on the hardware I used it on, (actually I still run the game quite frequently). Thanks for your inform attempts, I don't agree with them, and I certainly am informed about the subject at hand.

I ran Saints Row fine on my console. It should work just as fine on your PC. I still think that it is not a sh*tty port. I am informed of the subject at hand based on my unresearched experience.

For f*cks sake, really? It's not a f*cking opinion please stop using the worst argument in the book "It worked fine for me so it obviously is okay and it's your guy's problems" google these simple things, GTA IV SLI/Crossfire support, GTA IV GPU usage, GTA IV stutter, GTA IV, low FPS with high end specs, and find millions of posts about how their systems are fine and can run everything else great but GTA IV runs terribly.

You are no informed at all, you have no idea what you are talking about, this is not something you can disagree with, the game was ported awful, why do you think RDR was not ported to PC? It was held together about as well as GTA IV was code wise, which is about as well as making a building out of spaghetti.

I never tried SR2 but won't bother trying it. Not my likes.

And regarding the RDR never been available for PC is due the history of R* San Diego.

Their games has never been to PC for like 10+ years? But games developed by San Diego will not be ported to PC.

Did you not get my satire? I've never tried SR2 either, i was trying to show you how stupid your logic is. It went over your head, not surprised and L.A Noire is not on PC? It's like every time you post you top your previous posts' lack of intelligence.

Even more interesting is that if you click on career it carries over the platform.. but with ids 3, 8, 9 and 10 (GFWL, PC, Android, and the second iOS) you get an error message.. like this is made to support every platform but these are blocked from viewing the career stats..

He is the creator of the Simple Native Trainer, so I don't think he has no idea what he is talking about. But GTA IV is a bad wierd port. It never ran for me without stuttering. Not in 2009 and not now. Actually, I recently upgraded from 4 to 8GB RAM and it runs worse than before. All the other games run the same if not better. I can run Max Payne 3 maxed out without tessellation and MSAA and I don't get under 40 fps. IV? I get 60 fps indoors and when I get out it drops to under 30, then jumps to 45, then under 30 again. So in my opinion it is a bad port.

SAINTS ROW 2 = sh*t PORT

GTA IV = sh*t PORT

Listen, dummy. I understand you're slow. The least you could do is hide it. You claimed that Rockstar San Diego has never made or atleast been involved in a game that's on the PC "in the last 10 years". We proved you wrong by stating that in fact, L.A Noire is on the PC. I no longer wish to argue with a useless person. You missed the whole point, the problem is, you're an idiot.
