PC Version of GTA V Discussion

But you're missing the point, it looks bad to announce anything right now when stuff is broken, they need to make sure the console versions are ok and Online isn't glitching and deleting players, and once the servers are stable, then they can go all clear and say, hey, we're doing a PC version so you guys can join in on the fun to!

I expect them to announce the PC version, when the most of Online its bugs are fixed. This because then they get the positive publicity, because online is playable. Instead of negative publicity of online not beeing playable.

From a business perspective its alsways bad to announce something new, when the old isn't fixed yet.

What logic is there in that, they're rushing out patches to try and get the shambles that is GTA Online working, I don't think PC Only Gamers understand just how much Rockstars servers have taken a beating from GTA V and GTA Online and that's just the consoles alone, let them sort this sh*t out first before adding another platform on top. I'd love to also play a PC version, but come on, Rockstar are struggling like mad keeping up with the demand just from the consoles alone, they need to fix this first before even thinking about announcing other versions, which, PR wise, would be a bad idea as many websites would take it as "Hey guys, we know everything is broken, SO BUY THE PC VERSION AND GIVE US MORE MONEY, we might fix it then".

 

Let them announce SP for now then, so we can play that while they fix their sh*t. Also u can let some of the players test the servers by letting them online.

 

 

SP crashed Social Club to, the game heavily relies on it to track stats and all sorts of small things as well as things like snapmatic, etc, even before Online was active, the Social Club was a nice error zone as it struggled to keep up with the demand.

 

And yeah, it's kinda Rockstar's fault for going so cloud and connected heavy here. But with the servers always being pushed right now, do you really think adding an extra million PC gamers on top is going to help?

 

Announcing it for nov. Would make sure, they have plenty of time, to make sure SC won't crash again.

And then let them take another few weeks, to get all the server ready for online aswell. SC ain't that server heavy, they probably fcked that up because they were trying to fix all the stuff for online.

Improbable. It is quite cloudy and it would appear rain is approaching. I will take the advice into consideration for further activity in the coming days.

This was obviously never about me as an individual, though. It's treating everyone equally (As sappy and cheesy as it may sound. It's a good route).

 

Maybe I just phrased myself incorrectly, so I'll rephrase;

 

I, among other people both in this thread and people that want Grand Theft Auto V on PC collectively, would greatly appreciate being treated (For at least once and never again) as an actual human conversational partner. Not a friend, not a relative. Not close at all.

 

There have been developers and publishers that simply sat down with their communities and said; "This is how it's gonna be". Rockstar refuses to do even this in any dignified manner. Even if they did it in the vaguest most possible manner that hinted at an inkling of a possibility, it would be great.

 

I suppose that's too much to ask, though. I'll understand, I guess. I'm over it.

It is, Rockstar isn't Mojang. It's a multinational company and, like any normal company, their communications will be generic enough to be understood by all people who read them.

 

No normal company worth their salt will approach someone bygoing "Hey guys, we know you wanted a PC version but it's going to take a while because we have exclusivity deals with Microsoft and Sony that gave us a greater immediate profit than it would if we ran PC development alongside console development and then tried to recoup that through PC sales. Plus we're pretty busy with the server issues with GTA Online."

 

But that's the answer. If you need the company to say something so obvious then that's a shame.

There is evidence of a PC version of the game, you should read this thread; I'll give you one evidence: there are lines of coding on the console version of the game that clearly specify "dx11" and as you know xbox 360/ps3 only support dx9.
