People need to realize Rockstar hasn't even announced a PC version, there may well never be one. Who knows. They suffered from the PC version of GTA San Andreas due to being sued, they suffered from the PC version of GTA IV due to making a crap port. It's true there's a market for it, but the sales are seriously harmed by how easy it is to grab a pirate version of the game.

 

Even if it is released, don't expect it to be announced for another 5 months or so. It took Rockstar 9 months to port GTA IV to PC, and that was one of the worst ports I've ever witnessed to date.

If people do get a pirated version, which I know many people will, it will be to spite R* simple as that.

 

And they didn't suffer because of the hot coffee mod of SA, or the poor port of IV. They're still making money off those games because of Steam.

Plus, the hot coffee thing was nothing compared to Manhunt 1 & 2. The media had a field day with those two games.

I've known this website for years but didn't feel like registering for something i would use part time. I've been watching this thread for days to keep my hopes up and it's like you guys have no common sense at all. It's not an insult to everyone but for GTA fans you're pretty stupid when it comes to release dates.

 

FACT #1: It's coming...

Surprise? There's a thread that listed 27+ reasons as to why it is coming with proof. Didn't any of you even here of the XML documents even mentioning PS4's OS?

 

FACT #2: Ofcourse next gen!

As most have said countless times, the current gen is not sustainable for their vision. The end.

 

FACT #3: Posters on here aren't making facts

Clueless noobs. One guy said that a GTA PC release has not come later than 6 months. He's either drunk or new to GTA.

 

One hell of a way to make a debut, huh? Well i'm sorry. It's just that waiting for the Cockstar Games monopoly company to announce the PC version's RELEASE DATE is stressful enough and i (along with many others, surely) come here to keep my hope up. And for f*ck sake could everyone stop linking to some sh*tty retailer that apperantly knows the release date? Do you use no logic first? Those are just websites looking for attention and traffic on their redundant platforms.

 

Great, now i come off as a raging troll while just a stressed guy who's stress is getting worse for reasons mentioned.

 

Well, the thread you mentioned is probably mine and since I started gathering information about it I'm sure it is being in development for PC even before the first logs/ bug reports, and even before I wrote in middle 2012 that the game would be developed like Max Payne 3 was, supporting DX11. And I didn't need much to think like that, the screenshots they've shown that created so many discussions all over the Internet in many forums/ websites saying the game would be Next Gen and not Current Gen were obvious and easy to spot a mile away, not only the assets had high/ very high settings but also effects not possible for DX9 API.

 

Mas Payne 3 was the last prototype for V, and worked pretty well. So I have no doubts the PC version exists for long time, not like IV that didn't exist when console versions were released and reason why it took so long to be released on PC. This time everything points out to something different, but we don't know what else there is to all this, there could be contracts with S. an M., contracts with GPU manufactures, observation of the competition, development errors or anything else we can't even imagine.

 

I don't believe this time is an agreement with M. or S., because if there was any we would know by now, those things hardly stay hidden for too long, big deals like those are important to be spread all over. So taking into account that Rockstar didn't follow the pattern of announcing PC version before the Japanese release, I think that this is the reason why there was no announcement yet. Give it few days to a week till the sale numbers are out. This must be why they don't even make any comment about it, console sales are already down but in Japan there can still be a sales BOOM, and a PC release would shrink it.

 

As for the Next gen release, I think it's inevitable, everyone else is doing it, Rockstar would be stupid if they didn't. The log report mentioned ORBIS which doesn't mean there is a PS4 version yet, but means the RAGE engine is ready to use that OS. But with a DX11 PC version, the Next Gen version can be ported in a couple of weeks. So it could be possible that at this moment Rockstar completed the PC version and is porting it to the new consoles and then release all versions at the same time, GTAV as a title launch is the best thing to increase new consoles sales.

 

As for the use of retails there were plenty of leaks coming from them, GTA IV exact release date prior to announcement came from a Switzerland retailer, that had the accurate date before the delay. Retailers don't simply "create" a product to get attention, when they do it they are sure that product exists, the dates can be a bit of but the information come from their suppliers. So at least that proves the product exist or is planned.

Surprise, surprise the lights don't make this reflection in the characters face or even on the floor, they are just colorful lights. Current Gen consoles aren't the source for that image.

I'm done with them for a couple of weeks already. I was patient enough but there are limits for everything.

They deserved all this sh*t that their main auditory pouring on them in the comments on Newswire.

How do you feel Rockstar, good? While you are working 24/7 on resolving of problems with GTA Online, your main auditory keep pouring the sh*t on you. Enjoy, you deserved it.

The most funny thing that big part of them already don't think that GTA V is so amazing, GOTY, etc., because they consider GTA Online as an integral part of GTA V

Irony in it of course being Rockstar would of had a much more pleasent time using steamworks to get GTA Online going. Now they are at the mercy of two different and strictly limited network teams (who don't play nice together) telling them what they can do and when with GTA Online.

Being a PC player only for more than 10 years, this year I buy and try to experience what the console version likes. I buy the 360 version and play it since day two and I found out there are pros and cons consoles versus PC version. In conclusion, the advantage is the aim control in console is more simple than the PC version, you can switch between targets to kill them much easily and faster then the PC version which can only uses a mice (I know you can use a controller in PC version but I prefer to use the mic and keyboard) to aim the targets manually (Please correct me if I am wrong), I wish this can be introduces to the PC version too. While the disadvantage is the graphics and frame rate is quite horrible when compare to the PC. I play the console with a monitor which can supports 2560x1600 but the max resultion of 360 is only 1920x1080 so you can think what the graphics looks like, it is the same or even worse than GTA IV PC. For the frame rate issue, it occurs mainly while close to the water surface when driving a sub. On the other hand, this time I think yoga in game and as well as the mission involve tattoo a guy may need to redesign the control completely on PC. For references, here are the mission's footage:

GTAV on console only support 720p (not 1080p), so it's even worse

You can natively use an Xbox 360 controller on PC version of GTA IV (and older versions maybe? unless Steam is mistaken) and using the pad you can enable the umm..*cough*.."feature" of auto-aim.

 

It's exactly the same as the console version this way.
