So keep being on the M$ bandwagon. Did I say that Watch_Dogs specs are because of MS? No. You just can't read and understand what you've just seen. Sorry, I've been talking about DX11.1 and 11.2, not Watch_Dogs. Watch_Dogs specs are fine, and I have nothing against them, but the jump to the 6GB could be problematic for some people. Also, so what M$ is supporting their systems? They limit new soft features (DX11.2) exclusively for W8. That is bullsh*t, considering that Windows 7 is there from 2009.

 

I wasn't talking in most of my post about Watch_Dogs, but M$ monopoly.

Wow just wow, so Microsoft should backport features they developed for their current operating system to older operating systems ?

 

In fact in some case they do, in some cases they don't. Either way, what the hell does that have to do with a monopoly ? They are of course completely free to not backport stuff to older operating systems, as that is the standard across the board. And how is Microsoft forcing people to upgrade ? Watch Dogs will run on Windows 7 just fine, providing you have DX11 compatible hardware.

 

Of course you can upgrade your hardware on a steam box, it is after all just a pc !

 

I wasn't talking about upgrading hardware, I wasn't talking about installing another operating system on them (you can do both on Windows Pc's as well after all)

 

I was talking about their business model and the steam client. Their steam service isn't any different from the Apple app store, or Microsoft's store. And that service is anything but open, which is of course understandable. So why don't you explain how this service is more open than other comparable app stores ? Instead of listing things that can be done on Windows Pc for the past twenty years ?

well for a game which uses the Max payne 3 engine... i dont think it's gonna be that powerful ! MP3 works in my friend's i5 2450M + 6Gb ram + gt525M @ 1366x768 @ high settings else shadows + DX 11 @ 50fps +

try to get another laptop : (y510p of lenovo) you will get a quad CPU which is gonna help in new games !

Well, I need to go with a laptop because I am not living in one place all the time, so I cannot have a desktop.

 

And I've read that GT 750 is somewhere between GT 650 and GTX660.

Just got MMOGA's response (German retailer listing GTA V PC release date for November). This is what they had to say: They sure sound awfully confident about this.

Nvidia are dropping the prices on their mid-range 6 series cards. If none of you have a DX 11 card yet, I suggest you buy one. They're becoming the minimum now since all, if not most next gen games will be DX 11.

I hardly game on PC unless it's StarCraft 2, however most R* titles (especially GTA) make it to PC, and then the glorious modding can begin. I've never played a GTA game on a PC but the enthusiasm that I see in the modding community makes me consider getting a gaming PC so I can join in the fun.

 

GTAV will come out for PC. RDR not being on PC is no reason to think that GTAV won't be on PC. All you have to do is look at what GTA games are available on PC(minus the ones that launched on PC) to see that this will happen.

R* doesn't have a monopoly on open world games, just the GTA name. If you look even remotely hard enough you'll see that there are other options, and companies competing with R*. Which is great, competition only improves the industry, which benefits all gamers.

OT: I'm a dirty console gamer, but I'm rooting for you PC guys and can't wait to see the mod showroom if/when GTAV for PC drops. The GTA modding community is one of the most dedicated groups I've ever seen. Hats off to you guys.

That's good. Make sure to future proof yourself and get the 2GB version. This is also becoming the new minimum. Higher res textures out of the box means high vram requirements.

They have posted GTA IV mod videos on their website before, so yes they do like the mods. In fact, looking at GTA V, I can see it was inspired by ENB to some extent, so are the road textures.

Rockstar aren't the only ones to do this. Most of the Skyrim DLC are inspired from mods.

Its German, U can see the german flag at the top of the page. No Dutch flag there.
