But anyway, now that I was proven wrong... I had some time to think... Why the f*ck are PC gamers complaining about specs? We complain about console ruining/stoping PC power and now that we got huge bump up they complain? :/

It's not that.

There is too sudden jump to those specs. We had games that barely used 2GB of RAM. Suddenly Watch_Dogs goes out and says "FU all, me needs 6GB!". That is too sudden jump from standard 2GB to 6GB AT MINIMUM. Too quick. This is the first game that uses more than 4GB RAM. There are fewer games that use 3GB Memory, but still it's too big jump.

Also full DX11.1 for W8 only? Looks like Micro$oft monopoly is acting up really badly again.

I hope that Gabe Newell and SteamOS will put end to this. I hope they do. Newell knows what gamers want, that's why he and Valve is one of the fewer companies that open themselves and their future software/hardware to users, to allow modifications to satisfy their needs. Valve knows what it wants to achieve, and it does achieve that not by monopolising everything, but instead, opening themselves to audience and allow freedom. Steam Hardware is nothing more than Steambox, but in skin of PC. That's why I like Valve. That's why I admire them, instead of making closed software/hardware, they open it and allow freedom to users to upgrade, install whatever they want, or change it how they wish it to be.

Gabe Newell is I'd say:

"The good uncle of PC Gaming and gamers", unlike M$ who does everything to force you to jump on new Windows when THEY FEEL LIKE IT, by limiting currently released operating systems to older versions of neccessary software.

hahahahahah

that is because most of you guys aren't true pc gamers.

4GB RAM has loong been the minimum to smoothly run PC exclusive, PC specific, only PC capable genres like strategies and simulations (especially space and flight simulations)

because you guys only playing console gamers friendly games -AAA action oriented games-, you never saw it coming.

guys like you better go with console.

What I meant in saying that Newswire suddenly went quiet, is that they might be preparing for an announcement very soon. And that it might just be the thing we're all waiting for or perhaps even something bigger, like a PC/next-gen release announcement.

There has been many retailers just within the past two days that have started to put up release dates within an awfully similar window. And it is highly unlikely that one of them saw the other and said "hey, look! this place just put up this date, let's copy them and do it as well!". Not only is that unlikely, it's also ridiculous and stupid. Placing your company name and reputation on the line solely because another random retailer did something like this, is tantamount to jumping off a bridge just because you saw someone else do it, too.

I think the possibility of seeing an announcement sometime within the next two weeks is still strong. We aren't even a month out from the release on consoles, and It's not in Rockstar's nature to just sit back and twiddle their thumbs while the market moves forward without them (next month). If they are smart, they will capitalize on the incoming opportunities. Postponing the PC version for several months from now, for no other reasons other than "we still don't know if we should yet" would be taking a serious gamble. As I said before, the market will move forward, and with the advent of the new consoles and "next-gen games", so will gamers.

if now it's the right time or if they should do it later avoiding the competition

The thing is, C* has never appeared to back away from or avoid competition, though. The sheer act of them releasing a game of this stature on ancient platforms just two months shy of a new console generation is evidence of this. And if history is anything to go by, just the exact opposite has been true with them. In past times, we have seen them jump into key gaming seasons head first, place themselves against strong competition, and go face to face with some of the most highly anticipated titles around, managing still to walk away victorious and unfazed in the end.

The problem with C* is that they are unpredictable.

What? Your response is just too stupid to read.

I have 8GB of RAM so I don't care anyways. Yeah, like you are teh "true PC Gamer" (very funny), also I have a console but I don't use it. I think that Watch_Dogs will run on my PC so I have nothing to worry about.

One more important thing:

Where are arguments in your stupid response? Oh I know! There are none. You're trolling. Too bad that guys like brian. get banned yet pricks like you still have freedom to post. I will not respond to your next post. I don't want to be dragged to your level.

So as someone mentioned in here earlier, both Newswire and C* twitter page are strangely quiet, in fact, they haven't said a thing for over two days now. Hmmmmm......

Maybe because there's nothing "new" to say? They are working fully with the online fixes, and they are only posting what the ACTUAL consumers want... and we all now what it is.... Updates and more updates for the Online so they can play.

I think we are going to get a PC announcement when the online mode is stable.

---------------------------

Theres a bunch of console people bitching about the online, i dont think that Rockstar want MORE people (PC gamers) complaining about it too.

there are pc specific games that demanded a min of 4gb ram since years ago, it already mean you need more than 4gb ram to play those games, you never saw it coming because you only play console friendly games

Yeah I've read it. GTAO GTAO GTAO. Yeah I know this is common question, but that's what happens when you don't get announcement.

GAWD, R* COME ON, MOVE YOUR DAMN ASS. They better prepare proper PC version with DX11... Maybe R* had some problems that popped up before release and they held it off to release console one, but meh, that couldn't be, or could it? I mean console version has tons of problems to even run properly, it freezes for lots of people.

SmoothGetaway

Another gaming manufacturer needs to make a similar game.....Rockstar's monopoly is B.S

R* doesn't have a monopoly on open world games, just the GTA name. If you look even remotely hard enough you'll see that there are other options, and companies competing with R*. Which is great, competition only improves the industry, which benefits all gamers.

OT: I'm a dirty console gamer, but I'm rooting for you PC guys and can't wait to see the mod showroom if/when GTAV for PC drops. The GTA modding community is one of the most dedicated groups I've ever seen. Hats off to you guys.

Yeah, that is what makes GTA PC beautifull. Those mods. Incredible what they've done with GTA IV, SA, VC. I wish only R* to see that and appreciate that, but they don't.

Will i be able to play GTA V on this Specs?? Dell Inspiron n5110 Core i5 2.4GHz 8GB RAM Nvidia GT525m 1 GB Dedicated Car

I have similar configurations in my Dell n5010. 800x600 Low,Low,Low AA OFF 25FPS

Confirmed!

well for a game which uses the Max payne 3 engine... i dont think it's gonna be that powerful ! MP3 works in my friend's i5 2450M + 6Gb ram + gt525M @ 1366x768 @ high settings else shadows + DX 11 @ 50fps +

I play GTA4 on my i5 2410, 4GB RAM and HD6470M at 720p low, I get up to 30fps.

I am planning to buy i5 4200U, and GT750M, so I hope it will run GTA V and WD at medium, 768p, and these old games at high. :)

Better upgrade the gpu to gtx 660 than cpu for 2 gens

Amazing, so now Microsoft is responsible for the higher requirements for Watchdogs ? Didn't know Microsoft had any control over Ubisoft or even an interest in pc gaming at all..

The fact is that Microsoft does support their operating systems for at least 10 years, which makes them the company with the longest support cycle by far.

It is even more amazing people actually believe the bollocks Gane Newell is uttering. SteamOs/Steambox will be just as closed as the steam service is now, as Valve is a business, which has already a big portion of a small market (pc gaming) and is aiming to take more market by going after the consoles, it will be just as closed from a business point as the software from Microsoft.

Uncle gabe ? Thanks for the laugh.

Has anyone sent R* an email with the contents of the reply back from the website saying the key will be available November? Just to see what they say to it?

I have. Twice, in fact. All I got in response was a copy and paste, automated reply. I even specifically called them out for giving me the standard

"although there is no information to be shared about this topic at the moment, we appreciate your interest in our games and recommend staying tuned to our offical newswire and twitter pages"

So I told them again in another message after that: ANSWER my question, and do NOT respond to me with this crap again.

Their reply?

"although there is no information to be shared about this topic at the moment, we appreciate your interest in our games and recommend staying tuned to our offical newswire and twitter pages"

I LOL'd and looked at my screen in disbelief for 15 minutes straight. C* doesn't give a sh*t about their customers inquiries. I proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

They do care. Did it ever occur to you that these people might be busy helping people with real problems ? Unless you haven't noticed, there are quite some technical problems with the game (especially with regards to GTA Online).

I am surprised they don't move messages like this to a junk folder to be honest. Why do they have to repeat themselves over and over again, don't you get the message the first time ?

So keep being on the M$ bandwagon. Did I say that Watch_Dogs specs are because of MS? No. You just can't read and understand what you've just seen. Sorry, I've been talking about DX11.1 and 11.2, not Watch_Dogs. Watch_Dogs specs are fine, and I have nothing against them, but the jump to the 6GB could be problematic for some people. Also, so what M$ is supporting their systems? They limit new soft features (DX11.2) exclusively for W8. That is bullsh*t, considering that Windows 7 is there from 2009.

I wasn't talking in most of my post about Watch_Dogs, but M$ monopoly.

Can you buy new RAM for consoles? No. New processor? No. For Steam machines: YES YOU CAN.

Read Q&A.

Steam Machines:

Q:Can I modify the computer? Install another operating system? Change the equipment contained therein? Install my own software? Use it to create a robot?

A:Sure!

SteamOS:

Steam is not a one-way system - it is entertainment platform created by multiple users, each person can create content for thousands of other people.

Well, you did claim it was due to Microsoft's alleged monopoly, which it isn't, Ubisoft and Ubisoft alone decided the game would be DX11 only.

I am not on Microsoft's bandwagon, just pointing out the bollocks that is being uttered by Newell. Of course the M$ joke could easily be countered by the $team joke, but I am not usually trying to pose for a 12 year old.

So keep being on the M$ bandwagon. Did I say that Watch_Dogs specs are because of MS? No.

You just can't read. Just re-read my editied post.

Just got MMOGA's response (German retailer listing GTA V PC release date for November). This is what they had to say: They sure sound awfully confident about this.
