We just need to use simple logic here, the last 2 games released for PC (L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3) had a smaller gap then IV had, both had DX11 support (not natively for L.A. Noire) so there is no reason to go back now.

So yes, as I said back in 2012 GTAV was developed in the same way as Max Payne 3 alongside with consoles, it will support DX9 - DX11 being able to run in almost every possible PC setup and will be released way before the 8 months time frame needed to port the whole game from a awkward architecture as the current consoles to the PC architecture. And all this was done not only to create a better experience to PC users but also to be able to port it for the Next Gen consoles, either now or after a few months. No way in hell Rockstar would just keep the game in current gen consoles preventing people from moving to their new platform of choice. And let's be honest can you imagine Rockstar support for new content? They'll release the full assets to PC and then they need to smash them over and over till they fit in the current gen consoles, that will take the double of time and extra tweaking.

Considering Max Payne 3 is the most recent and it only had a 2 week delay; Would that make the November/December release entirely much more possible than to begin with?

Not saying it had the exact same development time. But still, similar enough.

Maybe the silence is just a short-term strategy for a tiny bit more money and Isn't that much of a grand scheme.

Maybe I'm wrong because I shouldn't be participating in any threads while sleep deprived.

Im aware of the smaller gap between console and PC release on Max Payne 3 but they have to get their f*cking act together on releasing the PC version this year specifically November with the release of new games like watchdogs and ACIV and also next gen consoles therefore a +1 for you.

Dx9 as in windows xp-I highly doubt it, dx10 and 11-probably, dx11 only-most likely.

Also there is a code line that states "dx11" and no code line that states other dx.

Dont expect a pc version untill late 2014 early 2015, same as the ps4 cited from a recent code leak within the game.

Early 2015 WTF? The latest date possible for the PC version is May-June 2014...

It is entirely possible that they implented a DX10 version later on. Since that code is fairly old.

Max Payne 3 had a DX10 option. i see no reason to not go with it for GTA V.

In the leaked code they have "last gen" which means "Current consoles gen" aka DX9. So basically the DX9 will be the same looking and the same assets config as current gen consoles, and that will make the game available to any computer around. Even a Pentium 4 can run the game as "last gen". And not being a port like IV was it will make the game run 100 times better. IV needed a multi core processor because it was ripped of consoles which used more then one core, a DX9 version with enough RAM and a Decent GPU can do the same as any of the "last gen consoles".

So the game most likely will support DX9 - DX10 and DX 11, the difference between the DX9 and DX10 most likely will be in terms of light, shadows and speed of processing, the real gap will be between 9 and 11. And I can see Rockstar already adding DX 11.2 support pushing some people to move to Windows 8 (also exclusive feature of XBOX ONE), if M$ waves the bills.

Rockstar need to keep it hidden for some reason, either they aren't sure yet and don't want to later delay it, they want to settle the consoles version first or they want to hide it most they can from the competition. But lets' be honest if there is a word out in the retailers the competition already know it.

There are two things I'd like to share with you guys, kind of like my thoughts.

The first is I think announcing a release now for May would not only allow enough time for current gen console copies to be sold, but would also be the expected release for PC release, as it's usually 6 to 8 months after. From a business standpoint I can't see any detriment to them announcing the PC release for next year and putting an end to all the whining and spamming. But they haven't.

On the other hand, announcing PC release for end of year now MIGHT negatively affect console copy sales. In other other words I think the fact that they've said nothing might indicate an end-of-year release, because if it were next year it wouldn't hurt financially to announce that. But they haven't.

The second point is that I'm wondering whether it would be wise to release in November/December before Christmas when there is a big launch calendar, we're talking AC IV, Watch Dogs, NFS, and even going earlier to like COD Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Batman, shouldn't they find like a niche some time in the following months when it's more quiet?

You must know that Max Payne 3 wasn't port! While L.A. Noire was! Thus "only" 2 weeks. We have proof that PC is in works, but is it port or seperate build we don't know.

eBay is not a retail website shop. Almost everyone can sell or buy on eBay thus it doesn't count. Online shop are different thing.

am I understand this correctly, GTA O is a separate game from GTA V, most importantly in that you cannot just switch seamlessly between V and O? you have to quit from V to play O and vice versa?

No, GTA Online was just an update from what I've seen. You get to press A (Xbox) to load Multiplayer during the initial loading.

I have also seen a streamer switch instantly from his GTA:O character to Michael. So I guess it's seamless, to an extent.

I emailed Firstlookevent.nl about R* is going to show at the event since there is information about rockstar being there on their website, but not about the content. They answered:

'This information will soon be posted on Firstlookevent.nl'

Maybe, just maybe, after R* announces something?

I ask this legitimately, too. What is this "Firstlook" convention about? Are announcements typically made there?

Nice, goodjob mailing them. This could mean 2 things tho.

1. They have no clue and just say this to get rid of the question.

2. R* already told them what they are planning( a show or playable version) and they can't tell anything.

Actually, it's not about announcements. So I wonder, if Rockstar does an announcement on this Thursday, the information would be posted on firstlookevent.nl after that for R* to show the PC version at the event this weekend.
