11:40 and near the end. They showed video from Michael's trailer!

That's interesting, but:

 

1. "The Last Of Us" will be released on next-gen? Is it confirmed offcially? What about other games from the trailer?

 

2. During presentation he mentioned Gaikai, so maybe some of the games from that trailer will be accessible on PS4 through Gaikai. Maybe that's what they meant when they included those games in the trailer

 

 

The main reason a GTA V PS4/XBone port is likely is because there is a PC build already in the pipeline. The next gen console architecture is x86 based and is virtually identical to modern PC's, so the port job would be pretty seamless. TLOU, not so much....

 

The more instances in which a game already has a PC version available amounts to more instances of potential PS4/XBone versions as well. Companies/devs won't have to expend as much effort or resources to port over from the PC versions of those games.

Regarding that builds.xml file, I will say this: It's really quite something to see that by me making a stylesheet for it, it became plastered all over the internet. I wonder what things would've been like if I never made that stylesheet and posted it on Reddit. Would people be any different to their opinion of GTA V coming to PC? Or just GTA V in general? I'm just surprised so many people repost it as it is. I kinda regret not sticking in my name, because I'm sure people will try to tell me I'm not the creator or some sh*t like that, LOL.

 

Also - so much flaming, holy sh*t. This thread has degraded!

Yeah, I'm hoping it gets back on track as soon as we get some news about the PC version. In any form.

Not for me, I've found enough facts that the PC version was being developed since the end of 2012 and by the first screens we got that those screens couldn't be from current gen consoles. But your discovery was another hint towards that and a very clear one. So for your find I thank you.

Ok 1 of October passed, so now it starts the countdown for the days with possible PC announcement, October 3 and 8, but judging by the mess with GTAO, I'll aim to 8.

 

Also the current problem of GTAO is that Rockstar was expecting 1 billion in sales for the first year, not the first 3 days, so they don't have enough servers to handle everyone. So it will be solved as soon as they install the new servers.

Beginning-mid of November is also pretty good, I guess.

 

Tired of release date speculation so I'm not even gonna bother estimating or whatever. Just announce the f*cking game so we can kill this thread already and start anew.

An official word is all we need, really. Not even something direct. Just a tiny hint. A tease of some sorts. Just to let us know.

 

Even IF we have all this proof, the paranoid thought of them cancelling it or deciding to delay it abnormally is still in the corner of my mind. Though I guess that problem is specific to me, so.

Release in Japan may not be related to PC version at all.

 

A couple of months ago Rockstar said that previously they released the game in Japan with so big delay because of very specific features of this market. Western games are not popular in Japan, only Japanese.

 

Only a few Western games have good sales there. But even COD is not in top 20 in terms of sales.

 

That's why Western developers don't pay enough attention to this market.

 

So it wasn't really important market for Rockstar as well. And previously they needed more time on order to release the game there.

 

However, GTA V is one of the most anticipated games in Japan. So a couple of months ago Rockstar said that this time they will prepare for release in Japan in advance and the game will be released there faster.

There is some strategy behind all of this...I still believe the current GTAO is a beta version, and the PC and next gen versions will be the definitive ones.

 

Let's hope they not delay our beloved PC version to improve and enhance the game experience, based on the problems that they're facing now. Good for us that Rockstar doesn't learn with their mistakes! We deserve at least an annoucement!

Actually they made 1 bln in 3 days because they care about money, and because they released the game on consoles only. Obviously they would make less money if they would release the game on consoles and PC simultaneously. How much less - that's another question.

May I ask why?

 

All previous main GTA titles have had a PC release.

All the evidence in the topic points to a PC release.

This is the biggest game of 2013, it cannot be without a PC release.

 

And I'd list some more proofs but I am a bit too lazy.

They don't have to. Rockstar is the Apple of video games. Well, if Apple didn't release an iPhone every year that would be more accurate.

They know that because of their games in the past, and their reputation of quality games, people will go out and buy their games regardless.
