Well, we should all understand that this Henry Strong guy renders scenes and animations, just the way 3D movies are made. The graphic quality of all those images and animations come from the fact that they are rendered once and only once. The viewers see a rendered product and their systems have to do nothing but show it (an image or video). This allows those products to get as realistic as the creator wants with the only limititations of his/her system's power. Some of these 3D artists are amazingly skilled as you just showed us.

 

With videogames it's all different, they are not a product the customer gets rendered, it's a product that renders itself in real time, and it depends mostly on this customer's GPU, RAM and CPU. The real time rendering needs huge resources, and this depends on the graphic quality of the game. More quality, more resources it needs.

 

I'm sure R*'s artists are capable of making photorealistic scenes, but they they are limited by the game engine and, very importantly, the graphic style of the game. We could define GTA games as "realistic cartoon style", the game looks realistic in its own world, but it's crealy not photorealistic, not because the can't reach that quality, but because it's decided to do it like this (Max Payne 3 uses the same engine but it's much more realistic).

 

The only and the biggest problem is that R* still lives in the Neanderthales caves and keep wanking on current gen consoles.

We could have had very great GTA with huge gameplay and photorealistic graphics. But no, they just rather

dump sh*t on the current piles of poop.

 

They made 1 billion in 3 days. Maybe they don't live in Neanderthales caves at all.

 

We are talking about the possibities of the other platforms than current consoles.

We are talking about graphics. I can asure you their success comes exclusively from GTA being the world's biggest and most famous gaming franchise in the world. They also made a huge marketing campaign you usually don't see for other games, and of course it worked.

 

But 1 billion because of the game's graphic quality? Not at all.

Because of that, GTAIV have no AA option. If MP3 really uses the RAGE, then it is those sh*tty consoles

which holds back the true power of the PC.

There is no way that a sports game that comes out every f*cking year and is still the same only with updated transfers, more leagues, some tweaks and minior improvments can sold old a game like GTA V.

It exists, because it's a great sports simulator. There is no much things that you can change and improve in sports simulator.

 

All they need to do is just update team squads and change the ratings of players every year.

The only difference is - EA actually makes sh*tty games, while Rockstar makes very good games. And EA adds micro-transactions n sh*t. I'm not really mad at Rockstar, those micro-transactions are not some kind of pay 2 win thing.

 

BTW, Take-Two actually said yesterday or two days ago that their games (digital copies) are sold very well on PC. Actually, PC has the biggest digital market. They said that.

I tried getting into the most common Team Deathmatch playlist for a few minutes. Didn't work.
