yo, I'm back here to track news from GTA V PC. What you guys think about the Real Money stuff for GTAO?

It will have real money stuff??? that sucks =(

Take a look : http://www.cinemablend.com/games/GTA-Online-Microtransactions-Spotted-XML-Data-File-59354.html

to evolve faster, by the way if you want to buy a building faster and a giant garage or in the trailer

nice job with finding Michael Bush hhaaha.. the power of the internet :) maybe somebody could find his phone number and ask him about GTAV :p

that is also another confirmation that the xml is legit..

Also its hard to make assumptions based on the ol d dates since the game it seems was not developed for the PC the same way the older ones were..

I would also like to see the devstar wiki :D who knows what they have in there.. well maybe one day I will work for R* and know whats happening in there :p

It looks like the game was started on the 20th of April 2009. At least its first probably functional build. There were some interesting things in the changelog, like debug shortcuts that used PC keys, but talked about console devkits.

The devstar wiki probably also serves as a log for everything they do and pages for their own development needs. It'd be a god damn relic to be honest :p

"Oh boy, I hope this doesn't turn into a rich-kids only party". It will and will be awful! I prefer paying a monthly pass than pay for cash! Your progress has to come from your hard work on the game, not from your wallet. Guess we'll have to create other petition.... hahahaha

So can we all agree that Trailer 1 was shown on the PC. That they've shown the PCversion first?

So we have an idea what it would look like on the PC.

Now what about next-gen. Games look beautiful on the PS4. Take "The Crew" for example. It has great and impressive visuals.

You guys think it'll look as close to it? Well, you can only expect so much of an improvement from current to next gen.

Take Watch Dogs, now.

Next Gen:

watch-dogs.png

Current Gen:

bro8.jpg

I also noticed something.

bb0k.jpg

As you can see the textures are painted and lazy-looking.

But...

o6lj.jpg

As you can see, the bricks in the ground are scaled and made by detail. 3D like.

Hopefully that fixes the blurry textures in V.

Like the sh*tty looking bushes.

gta-5-bush.jpg?w=650&h=351&crop=1:barf:

Back to my point. I'm hoping on the next gen, GTA V will look something like this.

The WD screens are from next-gen. They support tessellation, that's tessellation, not individually modelled bricks. GTA V PC will also have it and to be honest the trees in V look pretty cool for this generation.

Yeah, but up close, you can see its actual detail.

What you mentioned about tessellation interested me. :monocle:

Any explanation on these fake as rocks? Or are they meant to be sheets of paper?

RSG_GTAV_Screenshot_223.jpg

So, the next gen could tessellate the bricks to make them look more realistic?

That could probably be the case, and yes, the texture looks ugly because they can't use tessellation to make it look better in current-gen.

I'm anxiously awaiting the Watch Dogs that already by the way I have to play it first and also seems a different game REALLY going to win many prizes like GTA

I swear there was a game on this gen where they seemed to use tessellation. Anybody know the game? :/

DAYUM DAT TESSELATION SURE LOOKS PURRDY. Anyway yeah, the bricks and rocks in the GTA V Michael screen are definitely set up for tesselation.

Link to comment

@_Kindled_ not on console. There are quite a few PC games that use tesselation. Then again, the top end of PC is like ten generations ahead of current gen and at least 3 ahead of next gen.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

The difference between the two watchdogs..... Holy sh*t, this is what we can expect from GTA V. The PC version is going to be muuuuuch better looking.

Man, I am excited.

IIRC Tesselation is only available to games using DX11 correct?

And yeah, I don't get why people in this thread are referring to the current consoles as current gen. They are current gen consoles but nowhere near current gen tech lol. That's like several gens ago tech, compared to most of our setups around a gen or two behind the current.

I'm happy those console gamers got a sh*tty version of GTAV and we'll get the master race version of GTAV.

Dat tesselleation, high res textures, great gameplay with lots of traffic and vehicle density, greater draw distance.

It feels awesome to be a PC gamer!

Joking about the sh*tty version and master race XD

I like the water effects in GTA V, it looks pretty.

But I just feel like it's missing something and it could be improved.

I'm sorry I keep using examples from WD, but I feel that it's the best example for now.

Don't be. Watch Dogs is a very good looking game (when we talk about the only version that matters ofc), and probably the closest thing we can compare what GTA V will likely look similar to (in terms of effects and how good the game looks, not the art direction or modeling style, etc.)

But looking at the screens for Watch Dogs is really impressing me and increasing the hype I have for that game. I won't buy it day one or even close (I never feel an Ubisoft game is worth full price, just my opinion though) but I will definitely be getting it at some point. The game looks really good, especially that water lol.

GTA IV with ENB completely trumps Watch Dogs. PC graphics in general will always > console graphics. PC are king of impeccable IQ.

So, which looks better, The Crew, or Watch Dogs. Because they both look good, and I'm wondering how V will look if closer.

I mean, of course trailer #1 looked nothing like it, but GTA V already looks very good. I'm just wondering how it would look on the next gen. Mods not included :p

Maybe an unexpected and apparent, if not intentional leak will surface the internet come October. :p

@Albert Kike: Yeah, I know next gen is FAR from the requirements of PC. Considering the PC has no limits.

But it's the closest we can expect and get from a console.

Meh, I think IV looks like poop even with an ENB. Something about it just looks bad to me. I think the city looks really good and all, but I just think the game overall looks like crap even with an ENB.

Plus to get IV to look like that AND play at 60 FPS requires top of the line machines. IV doesn't take full advantage of PCs and often monster PCs are left crumbling to IV with an ENB. Plus what about if we were able to use ENB in Watch Dogs? I can guess it would blow IV with an ENB waaay out of the water.

Dude just look at the above GTA IV screens I posted. If that's how good IV can look, a nearly 6 year old game, then just imagine what V will look like on PC with mods. It won't even be close. GTA V on PC >>> Watch Dogs or any other up and coming open world game.

I suggest you get your eyes checked. Watch Dogs does not look better than that lol

I play GTA V looking like that, running at 3840x2400 (downsampled to 1200p), and I just lock it to 30fps and gameplay is very fluid. No need for 60fps in these types of games for me, I can get 60 fps, but I get occasional dips which bothers me, so I just lock it to 30.

Lol, mad I talked sh*t about IV? Haha, I see now. No offense but you are coming off as a real strong Rockstar fanboi. You are making a claim about a version of a game that has not:

A- been even verified that it will ever come out (I know I know, all the evidence, yadda yadda, but we really do not know until Rockstar says it)

B- we have not seen anything from it, those promo shots could have been set up to look really good for still images and run like straight ass (See screenshot ENBs for Skyrim).

C- you are comparing it to 1. the next gen version which is not even up to snuff with the current tech and 2. It is an ENB vs a non modded Next Gen version.

And again, how many people can max IV WITH that ENB at 60 fps? Maybe like 3% of all PC gamers.

How many will likely be able to max WD and keep 60 fps? Likely most of the players with any decent rig.

A game can look as good as it wants but nothing is ensuring that it will run smooth. Any time you inject an ENB you instantly start losing frames. ENB features are heavy on computers and there is no way to avoid the inevitable frame loss that comes with them.

Why do I have to explain why this comparison is retarded? I shouldn't have to lol....

Yeah, that's the problem, the circles are never actually round, but with jagged lines.

So, V on the next gen should be running on the DirectX 11?

@Albert Kike: What do you mean the best it could look? All you're expecting is more lighting, and V already has that. You couldn't even mod the explosions in IV correctly unlike in SA.

Gta_IV_13670987046322.jpgThis is an actual screen of iCEnhancer 2.5. Have no idea what they did to make the leaves look so smooth, but that is what you should be expecting, tessellation.

If rockstar does not use DX11 then they might as well have ported the game over form console.

Not including DX11 would be an even larger step backwards than porting the game. They went through all that trouble to make Max Payne 3 DX11, it would just be a waste of money and training if they didn't.

Yes Max Payne 3 was likely training to get their Pc developers comfortable for GTA V.
