That balded head guy called Dan Houser forced his employees to work on consoles.

They got punished and hit after provided a sh*tty job on GTAIV and they got afraid of that mean baldy

so they finally made a good job on GTAV.

lol

Stop with this sh*t, jesus christ. We don't care that you want the game now, its not coming right now so wait like all of us.

You really think I want the game now? I was only joking, where do you see me complaining about no PC version in that reply??

There is not even a port mentioned, it all was only about Dan and his employees.

I bet this game would challenge any computers specs and only a few would be able to run it.

The actual consoles have now very outdated hardware. If they can run it, a good PC will be able to run it even smoother.

In addition, RAGE will probably be much better optimized than in GTA IV.

I think the PC version will be great.

And for us who have a computer with great specs, it will look a lot better than the consoles. You don't actually need a very goog pc to make it look better.

yeah. also IV was a bad port at the time. i'm sure they won't make the same mistake in terms of the optimization and other issues.

Look, if none of you that come out with such crazy statements as facts are going to research - neither am I. I'm tired with dealing with console players that always demand proof when you call out their 'facts'.

I know you won't read any of the tech evidence that tells you that you are utterly wrong and reply with "yea well least i got gta v lolz" or perhaps tell us are sexual preference as some sort of intellectual rebuttal . Maybe you'll say we are just "graphic whores" while going off to post in "PS3 VS. Xbox360 which version is best" threads.

Seen it all before and it's tiring. Just know when you say those things you couldn't be any further from the truth and gives you no credibility. Don't worry though, be excited 'steambox' is being made for console gamers like you.

GTA V will require Social Club so having 2nd client to launch - meh. Unless of course GTA V will be like LA Noire, GTA IV (& EFLC) & MP3 - Steam isn't mandatory to run (if you bought on Steam).

Another con of Steam - unability to choose patches. If R* messes up again (I hope they won't this time) so that Patch 3/4 is better for majority than Patch 7 then Steam version (where you stuck with latest patch) won't the best version.

In LA Noire and MP3 latest patch is the best (or at at least don't make things worse) so I hope R* learned a lot from these 2 titles and from GTA 4 mistakes.

You cn choose which games you want to update. Just click game -> preferences.

I know for the last three plus years me and thousands of other users have had this setting reverted to default when we log out. I live with roommates and have to turn off my computer daily when I got to work (f*cking pieces of sh*t have non respect for other people's sh*t), and it kept updating skyrim.

It's not a bad thing in most games, but ones you mod and use a script extender, updating the game can break more than half your mods.

Not sure about that anymore because I gave up on hoping it would finally work after like 100 patches.

Rockstar will be the first to announce a pc version.... Why do people really think that we won't hear it from them first?

Sometimes I worry about the world...

I honestly think this is just getting silly at this point.

It's already hilariously obvious how limited the game is, technologically, on the current gen. It's a pure matter of time before the PC announcement is made. The longer they wait, the worse they're gonna make it on themselves.

Hell, i've even read a few articles stating that a few dataminers have *almost* proven that the console versions are a port from the actual (assumed) finished PC product, which has "special features".

Of course, i have no idea how reliable this is. But its something. And it's probably old news by now, anyway. Given how fast these forums move.

@Xerukal

i thought about that few days ago and it actually makes sense, say that they developed pc version and wanted to port it to consoles but they had some problems, so that delay came in, that would even explain why is game not working so good on consoles...

a man can dream, right? xD

I like to think that the console version of GTA V is the restricted version due to the limitations of the hardware. I hope the PC version of GTA V will be the unrestricted version that will allow more peds, cars, enterable buildings, etc. It would be great if we could taylor the restrictions based on our PCs hardware. Here's hoping that R* will unleash the beast and show us what GTA V can really do on the PC.

They aren't going to add features in a different platform... What you'll probably get is better graphics, more peds and cars on screen (adjustable) period.

I really think the console gamers will be very mad if the PC version haves more options than it already haves. I still think that the car damage (which yeah it's a lil bit flawed) it's due to hardware limitations. I'm pretty sure it will be better on PC. If it's really being developed alongside the consoles and it is taking this amount of time to announce it... I think it's something. And is something bigger than the console version.

I don't think things like these will change to be honest, it's part of V's vanilla driving experience, so I can't see them changing it on PC and leaving console players crying. It'd be dumb and unfair.

And well, it's taking more time because they had to focus more on the console versions, downscale textures from PC originals and code special parts for the consoles. The PC version is probably nearly done.

I believe in the case of the articles, the "special features" would be very specific graphics and PC options. Which, if true, would be amazing since it would indicate that it is a delicate and thoughtful port.

I'm just hoping it ends up being as good as Max Payne 3, optimization-wise. I couldn't believe my own eyes when i was able to max that game out after having GTA IV flat out devastate my PC just a few months before.

Very oddly enough, after playing Max Payne 3 and LA Noire on my machine, GTA IV seems to have somehow... adjusted to my PC and thus provides much less of a hassle now.

Maybe you just patched it? Or perhaps new drivers for your GPU did the trick. I don´t think your PC "adjusted" as if by magic :)

I realize, hah.

It's probably just that my brain adjusted to the lower FPS with time and i didn't notice it, thus i regarded it as some sort of magical organic adaptation of my hardware, rofl.

Yeah I did this too. I thought IV was running better and then activated DXTory to check my frames and they were still just as sh*tty. Meanwhile I am running MP3 maxed the f*ck out and have no problems what so ever.

At this point, aside from being able to play the game, I want R* to announce the PC version just to see the reaction on this beautiful thread. It's gonna be one awesome explosion.

I know it's coming for PC, the question is when... It'd be nice with "soon".

I had a look through the game files, and it's clear that they're working on a PC version.

I found individual key actions for each weapon, and keys to switch to each individual character, preceeded by the comment (PC specific).

And also actions for editing replays, indicating that that will be back.

Nah, we'll be like "Thanks for the old news, Rockstar".

Can you show a screen of that, Mulle?

No it will be like:

GTA V for PC announced by Rockstar

GTA Forums PC thread: Thanks for the wait Cockstar, go f*ck yourself and just give us the game you f*ckfaces.

GTA V releases for PC

1/4 of the PC gamers playing GTA V: f*ck you Cockstar, make an optimized game. I can max Battlefield 7 on my dual core AMD CPU and my GeForce 9600GT and 1GB DDR3 RAM. Y CANT I PLAY GTA V?

It is this way for just about any PC game. Sadly PC gaming gets this tainted look because most who try have no clue what they are doing and expect it to play like consoles. PC is not plug n play because it is not targeted towards the age group of preteens-just graduating highschool. Good thing though, because the PC usually can weed out the bad apples on its own.

I had a look through the Xbox 360 files of GTA V, and found definite proof that they're at least working on a PC version. Not a surprise, but it's at least some sort of confirmation that it's coming.

These are basically the actions you can keybind, and these specific actions wouldn't make sense on consoles. And it could have been something generic for the engine, from eg. Max Payne 3, except for the fact there are actions to switch to each GTA V character, indicating that these are GTA V specific.

Hilarious part of that GTA IV port was when the fans turned round and told R* Toronto they missed out the giant moon. Toronto weren't sure they had and went and checked and sure enough they did indeed forget to have a moon in the sky at night.

You can only laugh about it now looking back. Biggest game of the time stuck together by what looked like the rookie internship team.

How does that work out?

Technically then, GTA V for PC should have been finished long ago when the Social Club updated containing GTA V PC files?

It just means that the PC version has been worked on, is being worked on or is almost done or even might be done. We can't tell just by a few files left on the Xbox version though.
