The PC will have great graphic I reckon coming from a ps3 user... even ps4 would have graphics out of the world lol

For the record, I hate clients. I hate steam, I REALLY hate origin. It's bullsh*t. If GTA V comes "integrated" with steam, I will be forced to use a crack or something.

If that game was not on sale, then you wouldn't have bought it.

 

3 games sold at a price of 5 dollars on sale from 20 is better than no games sold at a price of 20.

 

Sales bring in money that often would have been spent elsewhere, money that the developers never would have got if the game wasn't on sale.

 

If sales were not for consumers convenience then why would they be in any type of retail? Because if you sell it for less (still for more than what you paid for obviously) you will sell more than you would if you left it. I am pretty sure the developers/publishers have to OK the sale anyways.

Honest question, why people hate Steam? I mean program is like 50mb, its free, good prices especially when there are some promos on summer sale or any other dates, since I used steam the first time I never had a problem with Steam, and the security is kind of nice, I understand if you just dont "like it " but at the point of people actually hating it? but I agree with you on Origin, man that client is REALLY bad, I had a bug on my old account that the chat never worked, it was like loading for ever and never loaded the friendlist, and I had some other stupid bugs with Origin, oh and I know this has nothing to do with Origin but the Battlefield 3 Server System is so sh*t I mean you need to log in on their website ( battlelog or something ) to search for servers, so sh*t

Lol..... You don't seem to understand how inexpensive it is to sell games on PC. Again, the developers and publishers have to agree to the sale. The sale opens up more units sold, and on PC it doesn't cost them like it does on consoles.

Abusing sales, abusing free to play, these are still players who have the POTENTIAL to buy a pc game. Besides if sales were being abused don't you think they would impose a limit? No, why do you think they do seasonal sales every single year? Because they can and still make profit.

 

A lot of people dislike steam because it locks you out of games, it can be cpu heavy on lower mid range computers when receiving messages (people seem to always like to message eachother when they are playing games lol). And it often cuts out for some.

 

I don't really care, but I don't like when you have to have steam running to play it. It's just a stupid requirement and I prefer to game with it off.

Just like BF4, on Origin Deluxe edition 70€ + Premium about 30-40€, idk.probaly even more. While on g2play I got Premium edition for 68€. That is like at least 30€ cheaper. No wonder people like console, because everyone has the same price there, 60$

Not all games require steam to be running to play.

 

The PC market is different because the distributors are scattered and vary in prices. You can find amazing deals with a little bit of searching. Also that example is bad because you are using origin lol. EA charge out the ass for anything. I'm pretty sure they charged money to get a classic Controls scheme in Madden one year.

CoD4 doesn't require steam running, bought on Steam.

 

many games don't require steam running. It all depends on the DRM choice. GTA IV already has Securom and GFWL DRM, it didn't need steam.

GTA V will require Social Club so having 2nd client to launch - meh. Unless of course GTA V will be like LA Noire, GTA IV (& EFLC) & MP3 - Steam isn't mandatory to run (if you bought on Steam).

 

Another con of Steam - unability to choose patches. If R* messes up again (I hope they won't this time) so that Patch 3/4 is better for majority than Patch 7 then Steam version (where you stuck with latest patch) won't the best version.

 

In LA Noire and MP3 latest patch is the best (or at at least don't make things worse) so I hope R* learned a lot from these 2 titles and from GTA 4 mistakes.

What if console people are just test subjects for GTA:O as to check how much traffic there will be and how much connecting there is going to be.

 

I mean Social club already got a big blow to the head, and they're having issues already.

 

And after they handle the big bang after GTA:O they're going to announce a PC date.

i love steam, if only it had all the games (BF3). As a matter of fact, if a game is available on steam and as DRM free, i pick the steam version, as it will stay in my library, easy to find, i know things are saved to cloud, and whenever or wherever i want, i can download it a high speeds, plus achievements, chat with friends, collecting cards... community is huge. Steam rocks, i love it a lot.

 

i get why some might not like it, and it's their valid decision.

 

Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Portal, Skyrim you can't play this AWESOME games anywhere else (and many many more other exclusives), so yeah

You cn choose which games you want to update. Just click game -> preferences.

Well yeah, vast majority of games are best with latest patch so making an option to choose patches for the couple of games (which devs couldn't code properly) isn't worth it. Beside our great GTA4 community made possible to downgrade Steam version from Patch 7 to patch 4. Everything's covered. ))

We pretty much know GTA V has in some shape or form a PC build, there's no mystery thanks to the amazing thread detectives. We are just passing the time till Rockstar decides to shed light on it and we all pretend we are shocked and surprised.

 

Steam announcements are going to be big for us as PC gamers. Imagine Valve/Steam having some of that console market share with the 'steambox' and being a real voice on the negotiation table with publishers. It might just be the thing that stops us having to go through this painful wait when GTA VI rolls around.

The actual consoles have now very outdated hardware. If they can run it, a good PC will be able to run it even smoother.

In addition, RAGE will probably be much better optimized than in GTA IV.

I think the PC version will be great.
