I know it's only a promotional shot, but, I'm not seeing those same bullet holes, anymore.

Those files are real. There's even more interesting stuff, at least until we see what's inside of it. There's lots of awesome sh*t in the last 15 pages peppered in there.

Those bullet holes are likely decals and not really deforming the geometry. if they are, that's nuts. Just looks like bullet hole decals with a normal map though, antialiased well and scaled down. Can we get a shot of bulletholes from the console? The technique will undoubtedly be the same in this case, but you might be able to discern a different texture quality. It's not actually holes your seeing in those bullet shots, it just looks like it, because the overlay is flat but the texture gives the impression it's dented in.

looks like real decals painted on with the bullet shot, rather than cards at bullet impact place, but could be either, most likely the latter.

GTAV PC petition surpasses 450,000 signatures

The Change.org calling on Rockstar Games to release Grand Theft Auto V on PC has surpassed 450,000 signatures, up by more than 100,000 in three days.

GTAVPC_34384_embed.jpg

According to a Change.org representative, the petition is the largest gaming petition ever launched through the site and is the 10th largest global campaign the site has ever hosted.

It was also the most viewed petition on Change.org in the past week.

Who ever thinks GTA V PC is not comming is in denial, as many other hints already proved aswell.

If by any means it doesn't I'll send them the expendables guys to overthrow R*s console dictactorship. :pp

I love this.

Was looking through some screens and noticed this...

trailer1_024.jpgtrailer1_026.jpg

God, the vine bushes looks so real. You can see the detail. Almost looked like 3D leaves :/

Psych! Think again.

GTA_V_low_res_bushes.jpg

It's basically just round and low res-textured.

I can almost see the textures from here.

865-1280.jpg

I haven't spotted any 2D leaves and bushes in Trailer 1 since then. :monocle:

That is because R* employees are lying pigs. Trailer 1 is a gimmick and bullshotted video.

Another question, as I am not very educated on optimizations and how well certain hardware will perform. But if one could max MP3 and keep around 60 fps and really only dip in the most extreme of sequences, would they be able to play V with high settings at a smooth 60? Assuming the optimizations MP3 had make their way into V (not sure why they wouldn't though, as you said that is a step backwards as a studio).

Amazing informations.

Ah, well, when you put it that way.... lol

No but for real, thanks for the insight. I know you or anyone can't really do much other then speculate, but you are much more educated on this subject than I am.

Great information and awesome help.

If I am running IV modded to hell (crazy amounts of texture mods, some heavy scripts and everything pumped to max (Never knew you could just full on disable the recorder, fuuuck that would have been nice to know hahaha!!!) I pull pretty much 60 everywhere besides when a pile up happens on the freeway and 30+ cars explode. The game doesn't always feel like 60 (micro suttering?) even though DXTory is reading out 60fps.

I am not worried about being able to run GTA V, lol I hope I would be able to with what I have haha. But more so, I am hoping to actually utilize the DX11 features it will likely have and not have to suffer inconsistent frames. I'm not expecting to max the game out or anywhere near it, but I would like all the nice fancy stuff :p

Besides when GTA V is released I will be likely upgrading my entire computer (AGAIN!!!) and swooping on an i7, 760-80 and make the jump from 8GB ram to 16 (newer games are starting to require more). I know this setup will not struggle with V at high, just curious about where I would stand right now at this moment.

Again, thanks a bunch bruh.

I look forward to a pc release with better graphic, modabilty and hopefully they allow larger online gameplay. More players then the small amount for the console.

There is a post here in the News subforum regarding the multiplayers xml file. This houses the settings for the online portion, and all game modes including free roam have a max of 32 players set in the xml. This could not mean anything, but it also could mean that 32 players is the new limit and they figured out how to do it.

Who knows.

Definitely gonna run mostly high for sure if you can run IV well. Maybe not max as you said, but you'll definitely be making use of your vram with high textures and high shadows a cinch, we'll see about the rest of the stuff. I cannot wait to see this game in full resolution :^:

Idk man, only 32 on PC? That is, in your terms (:p) staying stagnant, and as you have said Rockstar and any development studio is always trying to move forward. IV had 32 on PC, I would bet 64 at the least. But we can only speculate, eh? Heh

64 players would be a mess honestly, i would actually prefer to play on a 16 man server, i still don't know how does R* want to deal with griefing :/

http://www.incgamers.com/2013/09/seriously-though-likely-gta-v-pc

Didn't like how it sounds... Anyway, the arguments were not very convincing.

Don't worry, if R* likes money, they will announce a PC version on october, or else the same thing that happened with IV's DLCs is going to happen with V

So, they've been lying since the first trailer of this game, huh?

and I think yeah it can be a beta PC version or something like that.

still cant believe R* is ignoring such a large GTA PC fan base. Will R* acknowledge the change.org petittion if they eventually announce the PC version?

from another thread i posted this quote from http://www.polygon.com/2013/9/16/4736274/dan-houser-on-grand-theft-auto-5s-relevancy-and-future

We're trying to push video games forward to the best of our limited ability. We're not trying to do anything more or less than that. The merits or demerits of games should be about creative strengths and weaknesses, and areas where they need to evolve, or areas where they're already doing amazing stuff, or things that they supposedly can't do, not about how much money they can make. That sort of Hollywood way of looking at things is never really been something that we at Rockstar have engaged in."

yeah right Rock$tar! where is the PC version then? we all know there is less limits on creativity on PC than on consoles. it is about the money after all

Hey guys,

Its mybe off topic, but im curious.

My specs are:
ASUS M3N73 motherboard
AMD Phenom II x4 956BE
Geforce GTX285 2GB/512bit

2x2 GB ddr2-800

Soo my question is, if we got a good and optimized port, will this be enough? Or i should upgrade to an AM3+ mobo with 8GB ddr3?

Thank you.

ON: Ive seen this fake Nove 22nd release date.. not a bad idea, because watch dogs will release nov 21, and it seems like ubisoft is a big rival with that game. If R* is not dumb, they will definitely release GTAV this year IMO.

If it's going to be well optimised(like max payne 3) you should be fine, but I have one fear: if the game will be dx11 only you won't be able to play it unless you change your graphics card(yours supports only dx10).

Well. that could be a problem. What card do you suggest? Something with 2GB, and at least 256bit.

It'd be extremely stupid of them to make the game Dx11-only.

I'm with you, but I have dx11. Though, it would've been a terrible thing to release a version with only dx11. W

Why 32 has to be PC? I mean, I'm not a console guy but does 32 means just for PC or am I missing something here? ..

I found the GTX660Ti would be good, but at the moment even used is too expensive for me. They sell around $230. Maybe next year it will be cheaper.

I think cause consoles cant hangle 32 players. But i can be wrong, im not a console guy neither.

Can you imagine the already underpowered consoles having to render out 32 players at once? The sheer amount of insanity from that would probably make any console explode. But what I don't see is people that understand how far GTA has come. GTA IV only supported 8 players on console, 16 on PC. Now the consoles get 16 and PC (presumably) gets 32. This is a major milestone for GTA on consoles, and it's surprising that they were able to even get there in the first place. Hell, from GTA III - SA, there was no such thing as "multiplayer" (unless you count the "multiplayer" mode in SA where you and a friend run around with one camera view).

16 players for consoles, 32 for PC. I'm good.

No, GTA IV was 16 on console and 32 on PC.

That's what I get for trying to think logically at midnight. Feel free to laugh at this tired idiot! :miranda:

Let's not take in IV's settings into account while asking if we can run V because IV was the worst PC port ever made.

Anyways, looking to run this beauty on medium on my laptop with about 30 FPS, considering that I can run Hitman: Absolution on medium at about 40 FPS and Assassins Creed: Brotherhood on high with 25 FPS. I could run GTA IV on high with about 35 FPS, albeit the horrible port.

Specs:

Core i5 3210m 2.5 Ghz Mobile.

4 GB RAM

AMD Mobility Radeon 7650m

Windows 8 64 bit.

I think we should wait and let R* announce the game with the specs; I don't think that it would be dx11 only, but if it will be we will see what graphics cards are available at that moment that can run the game well.
