Any of you wanting to get into modding, now is the time. Open these files in text editors, and see what works in IV :p

You can probably recreate the handling in IV, damage, etc, to an extent or entirely depending on the case, let's see what's in there:

All common files (handling, carcols, etc) research for differences, and see what works in IV :p

I just ported Blista Compact handling from V to IV :p

BLISTA - see below

Gonna try it out.

Literally, while doing it, the changes are mainly "lower damage, better traction", I sh*t you not. The rest are extra numbers, for better transmission simulation (public floats likely added for modifications to engines) and some other sh*t. You'll see if you go through the files.

It'll probably be weird because I should not have copied center of mass, but I will see :p

edit: hahahah it's awesome, it works, the driving does feel different, but nice. I need to fix the center of mass so don't use it until I add one under here:

BLISTA 1200.0 8.0 85 0.0 0.0 -0.13 1.0 5 0.23 1.0 135.0 0.6 0.65 0.4 36.0 2.05 1.75 21.5 0.15 0.7 2.2 1.3 2.2 0.10 -0.10 0.0 0.5 0.7 1.0 0.7 1.5 0.0 35000 440010 0 0

There it is. GTA V Blista Compact handling in GTA IV. Now PC players can sample GTA V driving early. :p

I still gotta test it after changing it, but pretty sure it will work.

if you port anything back, just don't mess with center of mass, if you got a car request or know a vid of a car in both games we can compare, it would be cool. I'll make a vid if you find a blista vid, for example.

No backporting will be perfect, about 35% of data is removed to make it fit IV's needs.

Next edit: Tested it, needs to be heavier. Going to try 1400.0 (default mass)

Lacking the ABS that V has in its handling, or perhaps the mass needing to be default, the car spins out if turn too tightly - but everything else is probably spot on :p

Trying 1400 mass now.

Okay, I think I might have a rather clear idea of when Rockstar would announce the PC version of GTA V and the trick here might be based on the Japanese release of Rockstar products.

NOTE: These are only for the PC ports that are released after the console version(s). Therefore, this does not include Max Payne series (only Max Payne 3 is available in Japan), Bully (not publicly advertised by Rockstar Games) and Manhunt series (not available in Japan)

Interesting to note however, Bully PC was released just a month after the announcement.

GTA III

Japan Release Date : September 25, 2003
PC Announcement Date: March 25, 2002

GTA Vice City

Japan Release Date : May 20, 2004

PC Announcement Date : February 14, 2003

GTA San Andreas

Japan Release Date : January 25, 2007

PC Annoucement Date : September 9, 2004

GTA IV
Japan Release Date : October 30, 2008

PC Annoucement Date : August 6, 2008

LA Noire
Japan Release Date : July 7, 2011

PC Announcement Date : Jun 23, 2011

As you can see here, the PC Announcement Date for Rockstar products are all before the Console's Japanese Release Date.
If I were to follow this pattern, I'd say expect the PC announcement for GTA V to happen before October 10, 2013 , which is the GTA V Console's Japanese Release Date.

Yea, you've definitely got tot try this in your GTA IV. I don't know what I did that makes it spin out, maybe the lack of GTA V's anti lock breaks parts of the data, but the driving when careful does feel better, and damage is a lot like GTA V's (less powerful, takes collision with mass to hurt the car - pretty nice actually)

BLISTA 1200.0 8.0 85 0.0 0.0 -0.13 1.0 5 0.23 1.0 135.0 0.6 0.65 0.4 36.0 2.05 1.75 21.5 0.15 0.7 2.2 1.3 2.2 0.10 -0.10 0.0 0.5 0.7 1.0 0.7 1.5 0.0 35000 440010 0 0

I honestly don't understand what the console gamers wants the pc gamers. saying that if GTA was released on all platforms the same time then the amount of piracy was much higher. well, of course it would've been higher if it was released on all platforms just for the simple fact that it got released on another platforms. and second, I saw a pirated version of the game for 360 and ps3 even before September 17th so obviously the game is being pirated on the consoles as well.

I have a pc and I WILL buy the game so what does it say? i'm NOT trying to whine, I just can't wait to play this game. I have 360 and I choose to wait for the pc version because i'd much rather play on a pc than on a console.

They made that petition so that gta 5 won't be released on pc, but they played the game 4 days earlier.

Man i'm hype up more and more, can't wait for the pc version! it's like waiting for christmas. a test of patience!

I have a feeling even though that r* did not announce pc release date i have a gut feeling though that it will be release on pc.

Reason for editing : wrong form of a word.

This is interesting. It seems to suggest the PC version is the lead platform this time.

!pc suggest it is not_pc, meaning they're using PC version as the base version. In other words, Rockstar does not actually develop separate timcycle for the PS3 version but use the 360 version instead.

But seriously, the game seems to be done. Frontend buttons there and more, what else are needed?

I've just tried that handling line, and yes it's not bad, when you start to turn it feels good but then booom you start spinning like on ice xD

if you get it to work, post it, i would like to try it

Nice Find, from ifruit app and xbox code and ur theory open iv's code, it looks like pc version was simultaneously developed along consoles but wasn't completed.

I also think, we surely get gta v announcement for pc in mere one or two weeks. :)
