There is still the likelihood that there is still work going on. when finishing up a game on consoles, it's a lot simpler terrain to traverse than supporting any number of hardware setups on PC, scaling to support a range of desktops.

Could be. Still, I think that PC version is somewhere near 95% of completion. About optimization - PC is much more complex than consoles, so usually they can still optimize it after the announcement. But assuming that most likely this will be a Max Payne 3 case - nothing to worry about.

As Brian has said before, PC has thousands upon thousands of possibile hardware setups. Console has one for each, making the final stages of the process longer for PC. Besides... marketing, marketing, marketing.

Flip side of that is PC patches don't require certifiying or cost to patch though.

Apple release it (including Samsung) because people are stupid and they buy because they want new things, even if it is only one feature more. They know it and that is marketing. I have both, they are quite the same, iOS might be better optimised but it is closed as f*ck, Android is open and you can do with it whatever you want, that is why I preffer Android.

I hope the game won't be dx11 only, because I'll have to upgrade my entire pc to play it... I don't care if I can play it with everything at low as long as I'm playing it. If it will be dx11 only I will buy a second hand xbox 360. What do you guys think the system req will be?

I think playing on a console all day had a negative impact on my brain, kept fumbling with my keyboard this morning, misspelling my login password.

 

 

So far my biggest gripe about GTA V has just been, it wasn't what I expected in how it plays, It's not a bad thing but it's a massive change, everything about the game is more reminescent of RDR than GTA IV.

 

A lot of in game content that was advertised is missing too, Like weapons, I remember there being a 1911. Glock, USP, 92FS, And like 3 different AR15 style rifles. all the guns in the game are completley fictional. and AmmuNation has an entire wall of empty space for DLC weaponry that I doubt will be free

 

otherwise still a good game even if it's a massive change, I'll enjoy it more when I have more control with a M/KB. Especially in combat.

Well, I have to admit that yesterday console gamers made me quite jealous...
But don't panic guys, it's every time the same thing. We will get a PC version a bit later and it's worth to wait for it! We will probably get upgraded graphics, some other improvements, a nice port and we will be able to play GTA V on hardware that is much better than the outdated one from the consoles.

 

I have nothing against consoles and console gamers, but basically a console is a PC with 90% less features and not upgradable hardware... Sony and Microsoft need games to be released earlier for consoles, as the PC versions would destroy their sales figures, this is marketing... The PC version will be great!

No they aren't 1080p, and they are console screenshot. Shadows aren't that spectactular, ordinary console shadows. And textures are very low.

they are f*cking not from the console, THIS is from the console, and those are NOT upscaled WTF is wrong with people LOL

 

And there is a lot more in other folders where those came from. The above images are from eithe PC, PS4, or XB1, the below image is the 720p, non anti aliased DX9 deferred rendering output. Looks COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, and so do the rest of the images I didn't post that are 1536x864, downscaled likely from 1920x1080p

BS, those images are all higher output than the consoles provide, and if they were on 1080p upscale, it would show.

 

Just look at them. They are 1536x864.

 

They are not jaggy UNTIL the far view = high source.

 

In another folder, there are MANY of the images I told everyone were DOWNSCALED, and these are bigger than all those downscaled images - the same images as official shots, in another folder, bigger - still downscaled, just not as much.

 

LOOK AT THE SIZES. Look at the shadows. Don't lie to yourself, and I've proven time and again I am no fool bro.

 

I know the game looks great, but it is also 720p.

 

Let the images show the full size. LOOK at them, they are f*cking smooth as sh*t, downscaled, and STILL 1500 pixels wide.

nevertheless I'm sad that this game is not based on pc or at least the new consoles.... after seeing the division all other open world game look sh*t lol, I've been spoiled... but it's more than that, my own modified gta iv can look still better than most promotional gta v screens, and knowing that v is made with $150m left sour taste in my mouth because of how 'bad' v look like... I mean seriously? this is the best they can do with $150m??? random guys on the internet can transform iv sh*t graphics into something on par with or still better than v, ugh... old consoles dragged this game down TOO FAR into abyss IMHO.

also consider what chris roberts is trying to accomplish (and already done some parts from the whole picture) with star citizen for currently still less than 1/5 the fund of gta v and a much much smaller developer team... then you realize why the f*ck gta v cost $150m?

All I want to say - I don't care about graphics, because gameplay is the most importat thing, well at least for me. Never used and won't use any graphics mods for any game. I play games the way it's meant to be played and mods only makes it look like a plastic and doesn't look right with certain games.

 

Icenchancer (or whatever it's called) makes GTA IV to look unrealistic. I mean, every car in New York is clean as baby's ass? You can see your brain in reflections.

ENB is sh*t because it adds tons of worthless effects and makes the product that once looked fine look like cheap sh*t.

As for the screenshots im no expert but i can tell that the 4 screenshots look way better than the one with the red car.
