I think that the PC version will come before PS4 and XB1. It will be like a tease for the next gen version!

Nope, it will come in mid 2014. I bet that will happen. No other GTA did that, this one will not be different I am affraid. People who think that release will be this year, hell even in two/three months are nuts. No other GTA did that and this one will not be different. Evidence doesn't hint release, they just hint that it is there. Knowing R*, release will be in May/June 2014, no earlier. I believed that they could do it this year, but analysing facts made me go away from this.

 

I think that I will "finish" this game by watching playthroughs. Too bad that PC players are bein g treaten as R* as "second class gamers". We know that, we learned it in past, and we should carry on. This is only a game afterall, I am pissed off, but this time let's just be better than console fanboys and just be patient. It will come when R* decides, and I bet this will be for sure in 2014. Not earlier.

 

Where do you people come from with your uneducated opinions? GTA V will arrive mid 2014 simply because the other games arrived 6-8 months after console? You don't take into account the factors of why that occurred, you just seem to think Rockstar sit on a finished game and wait 8 months. If you had kept your opinion to yourself, ventured through the previous pages, you'd see that PC version has been worked on for a long time. IV was a port which is why it took 8 months because they didn't start on it long before console release.

Your thoughts though are likely wrong. First GTAO will have micro transactions, which means the longer the game is up on more platforms the more money they make. This also comes RIGHT before the holiday shopping sprees that will begin around the end of November.

 

Now, take all those who bought V to play on console until next gen/pc release. They will buy the game again, most of the people who bought V on current consoles will likely buy it on a more advanced platform.

 

Now mix that with holidays, people get games from family members meaning, more sales because less people have to spend their own money. Also, like someone said above. Rockstar changed their fiscal years, meaning if they release gta v near the end of that fiscal year, they will get a much better turnout than if they release it right after or on the fringe of moving on to the next. This whole release scheme has been focus solely on maximizing their financial gain before the fiscal year is over. The only way to truly maximize this, would to be releasing the game on PC and next gen consoles.

 

I don't think next gen will get it this year though, as most people are waiting to see prices drop. This directly effects rock stars ability to sell on that platform, which will likely mean they wait on a release until the population is there.

 

There are plenty of reasons for both a normal GTA PC release time frame and also one for a much much shorter time frame. We are only left to speculate and attempt to grab as much evidence as we can.

I found something weird. YOu know in the early official gameplay video or when Trevor throws a molotov cocktail,

you can see the see purple fire waves. Like there is gas. I noticed in this video there is not any purple/blue firewaves

when there is gas laying on the ground.

So I was thinking...those purple/blue firewaves can only be done on PC?

To answer the above questions, no GTA IV was never spotted other then a few weeks before the official release, there was no Place Holders or Pre-Orders before that like now.

 

GTA IV for XBOX360 and PS3 had no files about PC either, although the PC version had a lot of lines from both PS3 and XBOX360, I think there was threads about that in this forum, now searching google doesn't come up anything, only GTAV or cheats and codes for IV, but I'm 100% sure of this.

 

Also looking to the last PC releases from Rockstar to the PC platform from both L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, the difference from consoles to PC was of 2 weeks to 4 months. So it looks like after GTA IV a lot changed.

 

And as for the possible release date, I first said Christmas would make sense without any solid evidence, but now with the slip from NVIDIA, the claims of the sellers of Steam Keys and the window placeholder of some retailers it seems likely that it will be released by the end of the year. GTA IV needed the extra time because the port only started after the console versions was out, which doesn't seem to be the case now.

Then release after 2 months is very likely. We could get an announcement any day now, since GTA V already released. October 1st - launch of a GTA Online - Rockstar could give us an announcement. Rockstar said that they will update Social Club soon with GTA Online features. Now we are seeing PC version alongside X360 and PS3. We could possibily get a PC announcement the day when it will be updated... or on October 1st.

 

PS. This is just my thoughts, but I can only think of these possible times of announcement. Rockstar ussualy announces new trailers, information on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays. I usually turn down some things (IV) like vehicle density or stuff that I dont need. But MP3 (beautiful biiiiiiiiiiiiig time ) works steady 60 (Vsync) maxed here. but if its made good than 660 is enough. More than enough.

bf 3 which looks very good has 560 as reconmended and 560 is 30% worse than 660 (Ive got gigabyte OC so even more).

A release in May or June would be 8 to 9 months after the initial release, which will not happen. The last game that was released that late was San Andreas with eight months, and that was over eight years ago. The reason for these delays is that all GTAs thus far have been ported from the console version to PC, and that after the release of the console version, which is most probably not going to happen with GTAV. Why? Look at Rockstars latest title, Max Payne 3; it is not a port, which is because the first two MP games were not ports, either, and it's a way to prepare for the forthcoming console generation. V as a port would be a step back, and that simply makes no sense at all. Rockstar probably worked on the PC version for a while now, but they are polishing it a little later, hence the later release. I don't think we have to wait another half a year or more until we get to play this game.

 

@S1LV3R_W0LF: The gap between initial release and release of PC version was not just four months for L.A. Noire - it was actually six months. The game was released for PS3 and X360 in May 2011, announced for PC a month later, and finally released for PC in November.

If the game runs at a steady 30fps on consoles just about any computer will run it. The question will be how much you can turn up the settings and how steady the frames will be.

 

With my i5 2500 and 6950 2GB I was maxing max Payne at a steady 60 with slight dips to 55 in only the most intense parts of the game. The difference is MP is linear while gta is hardly so. Though feeling the optimizations on the consoles, I would say that the game will run BETTER than IV with settings set higher.

We can talk about it now too, but all we can do is guessing. I have an i5 4670k, 8GB RAM and a Gigabyte GeForce GTX460 1GB OC @ 815/1630/2000 MHz. I think that V will run smooth on high settings with that rig, especially if the optimization is similar to the one of MP3. The moment Rockstar publishes the first screenshots of the game on PC will be very exciting.
