PC Version of GTA V Discussion

November 29th could be true. Just one week after next-gen consoles release. This could be true. If yes, then announcement should arrive in these last September days. Then release after 2 months is very likely.

Just like Episodes from Liberty City? Anyway, don't you guys remember Rockstar will do worldwide release so it should be Tuesday instead of Friday, unless of course the PC version is released worldwide on Friday instead of Tuesday due to the fact majority of the PC games are in Europe instead of North America.

 

Well, I don't think it really matters. I think most of the people will buy it on Steam. Also, PC games usually arrives on Fridays, not Tuesdays. And yeah, it's not a big deal. I mean, GTA V for PC could be released for North America earlier and later in Europe, but I don't see why. Retail copies are not as popular as digital copies, when talking about PC games. Max Payne 3 for examples, was released on May 31st in NA on Steam and June 1st in Europe, delayed till June 5th in Australia though. So yeah, they could easily release it on Friday, and as Max Payne 3 shows - they could release the game one or two days earlier in other countries if something could cause some troubles.

I think that 29th November is fake... I'm from Poland and in my opinion this is employee' mistake. I also checked gamestop, amazon and other shops and there is no any information about PC version of GTA.

It's a placeholder, there are a lot of digital stores with random PC release dates.

Not all world wide releases are on Tuesdays.

 

True but Rockstar has always choose Tuesdays as worldwide release of their products. Game companies have moved to releasing patches and games early in the week so that if problems occur they have some time before the weekend (most studios take weekends off) to fix them.

 

Also like was said, actually a lot of PC games are in fact released in a Friday (not sure why, but they tend to).

Well I am not sure for the Steam, but the NA version for PC is released exactly the same date as the Europe.

GTA IV was released for PC on December 2nd 2008 in North America, and a day later in Europe and Australia. And L.A. Noire was released in North America for PC on November 8th 2011, and three days later in Australia and Europe.

The EFLC releases were all f*cked up for all platforms, but if it came out three days earlier then I guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

 

Honestly I don't think that is a good date to release the game. I'm thinking if the game comes this year to PC look more closer to Christmas or the second week of December or so. Though the 29th is after thanksgiving which is when holiday shopping begins here in America. And that is the time of year that games sell the best (for obvious reasons). Who knows? We are just going to have to sit tight and wait. It really is a shame that they took this route again, but I feel like the wait won't be nearly as long as usual.

GTA IV was released for PC on December 2nd 2008 in North America, and a day later in Europe and Australia. And L.A. Noire was released in North America for PC on Novmber 8th 2011, and three days later in Australia and Europe.

 

So that proves that November 29th could be a very possible day. And don't forget this - one month before holiday season - that would definitely increase sales.

 

This time we won't wait that long, like we did with previous GTA games. PC version is done - that's for sure. Even iFruit and Social Club shows that PC version is already compatible (because why would iFruit contain so many PC related files, like loading screens, icons etc.). This time it won't be 6 months. GTA V will come earlier. I think about end of November and the start of December.

I'm calling it - It's coming for PC this year.

I was the first person to call it - PC WILL be here for christmas.

 

As a matter of fact none of you were, my thread from the beginning of 2013 (original from December 2012) and my replies in the last months prove that. And back then everyone said that was impossible, but is good to see that now more people are understanding the logic of it, although it's not 100% sure yet. Last word is always from Rockstar and their partnerships.

I'm happy to see so many "detectives" around here and the amount of collected information hinting to the PC leaks. To be honest I think this is possibly a maneuver from Rockstar Games to keep the hype and the GTAV in the PC players mind. Never before there were so many "fails". Also don't forget that tweet from SONY UK about hos great the game would be in PS4. I still believe that was on purpose and not a mistake of number, no one in his right mind would make such a mistake and not correcting it before posting. Thats would be like posting "PS4 coming in November for $199" ... makes no sense.

 

Anyway I'll edit my thread now and I'll add every new information we've got so far since the last time I updated it, and I'll include what you guys found now including your screens I hope you don't mind, if there is any problem or you want to be credited for it please send me a PM.

Nope, it will come in mid 2014. I bet that will happen. No other GTA did that, this one will not be different I am affraid. People who think that release will be this year, hell even in two/three months are nuts. No other GTA did that and this one will not be different. I believed that they could do it this year, but analysing facts made me go away from this.

PC is back to the roots for being good gaming platform, many games (like Dark Souls 2 having a PC as a lead platform) are confirming this. Too bad that Rockstar didn't realize this even now. Well that's not true, over the years Take Two has changed their fiscal year start date, the most recent change was in 2012. With that, the fiscal year for 2014 will end on March 31st 2014 Calendar Year.

 

And since their management mentioned this “With Grand Theft Auto V launching on September 17th, followed by the releases of NBA 2K14 and WWE® 2K14, fiscal 2014 is poised to be one of our best years ever. Looking ahead, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the upcoming launches of the next-generation consoles. Where do you people come from with your uneducated opinions? GTA V will arrive mid 2014 simply because the other games arrived 6-8 months after console? You don't take into account the factors of why that occurred, you just seem to think Rockstar sit on a finished game and wait 8 months. If you had kept your opinion to yourself, ventured through the previous pages, you'd see that PC version has been worked on for a long time. IV was a port which is why it took 8 months because they didn't start on it long before console release.

Every GTA game (assuming that GTA V isn't a port) was ported after console release to PC? I mean EVERY (excluding GTA V)?

 

Did GTA IV had any evidence of PC in it's files anywhere? I'm sorry, I don't remember...

Well said, this time it isn't a port but a game they made at a different studio called R* Leeds
