Do you think that, when it's released for pc, the multiplayer will support more players than the console versions? I know it won't have 500 or more like SAMP, but perhaps 50 or so? :)

GTA IV is 32 players, I think. I'd be ok if it's 32, or 64 would be great too like in BF. I don't think it'll be more than that, and maybe it's better that way, more than 100 players could be a total chaos.

100 players in team deathmatch would be dreamy, especially if there was a mode that allowed you to respawn only, let's say 3 times.

Think about it, it would be like real warfare, with tactics, not just charging into the field Leroy Jenkins style.

I have said multiple times that someone needs to make an MMOFPS where matches would be preorganized, hosted on a big server for about 150 people, and everyone would get just one life.

It would just be fantastic, think about it, 150 people, each and every one of them having his or her own strategic value.

It would add the exhiliration of having to be on your toes.

FPS games nowadays offer very little in view of sheer excitement, it's all just go in, kill some, get killed, respawn, run around typing LOLOLOOLO NOOB, etc. etc.

LFS is the epitomy of what I have said, in racing version.

NFS and other arcades are just smash and drive, but LFS on the other hand...beautiful.

In LFS you have to know how to race, have a good race pace, be consistent, not overheat the tyres, you can't just lunge up the first corner and go from first to last, if you qualify bad, you will most likely end the race badly.

I digress a whole lot, but basically that is my opinion on todays multiplayer games, they lack a certain something.

One thing I'll hate when the PC version is released, ENB, ENB EVERYWHERE, people posting "realistic" pics of their ENB configs, where the cars and roads are like mirrors and the Bloom is set to blinding levels. :p

To be honest, ENB sucks, iCenhancer is much better.

I know I'll get chewed up and spit out for this but, is it so much for a PCer to just go buy a used Xbox or PS3 to use until a PC version comes out? Or are PC people just that hardcore loyal they won't even touch a console? If it were me, and I had the extra cash, I'd do just that for a game that I practically cream myself thinkin' about. I kinda like watchin the kiddies have their little online console wars, or PC/console wars, or Mac/PC wars, cuz when ya get older you'll find the things you use to have a strong opinion about, you'll shrug off...cuz like's too short, and there are so many more important things to worry about. Yeah, I got a little off-topic. Happens in my old age.

I think that Rockstar wants to maximize the release on the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 first. After the excitement has died down in a few months they will make the announcement for the PC. Here are some speculations on my part:

Grand Theft Auto IV
2008-04-29: Released for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360
2008-08-06: Release for Windows announced (launch + 99 days)
2008-12-02: Released for Windows (launch + 217 days)

Grand Theft Auto V

2013-09-16: Released for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360

2013-12-25: Release for Windows announced (launch + 99 days)
2014-04-22: Released for Windows (launch + 217 days)

The announcement for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV was made 99 days after the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 versions were released. I just calculated that 99 days after the Grand Theft Auto V release for the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 is December 25, 2013. That even make sense. Wait for the Christmas buying season to be over and and then make the announcement on Christmas Day. If they do that it will be genius. How can the PC gamers be mad anymore when they receive a Christmas present like that?

We are just tired of the games they are playing with us. They did the same thing with GTA IV. I have been buying GTA since GTA 2.

Us mature PC gamers do not "cream ourselvers thinkin' about" any game. Once we find out it will be released for the PC we will just mark our calendars and go back to our normal lives.

I have only bought one game console in my life. It was the Atari Jaguar 20 years ago. It still works but the sound does not work all the time. I bought my first computer 33 years ago. I guess that really makes me an old timer.

Well but Rockstar doesn't actually work during Christmas. The last day of announcement for them would be a week before Christmas, if anything and don't expect any announcements from them in January other than end of January.

Second, people seemed to forget LA Noire PC just took 1 month and 7 days to be announced after the console version. Well, the thing is if GTA V console versions already met their expectations, which supposedly is true judging by the sales, then they will announce the PC version quicker or maybe if a game is short enough to complete, in this case GTA V story mission is shorter than GTA IV thus it shouldn't take 3 months or more for them to announce the PC version, probably two months or one and a half month depending on when they decide to release it. Also, the PC version should be due anywhere latest between February and March unless Take 2 want their fiscal month for that quarter to be bad, they will have to release at least one product and I doubt DLC for Bioshock Infinite is considered as one of the product.

This is due to the fact that Take 2 has recently changed their beginning of Fiscal Year in Calendar Year 2012.

Not everyone got that 'extra money' and some PC users have little to no use for an xbox/ps3, and buying a console for one game is ridicules. I dont think you will take it easy if it happened to you, if V was released on PC and delayed on consoles, would you just leave your console and say ima go buy a PC? ;) it doesnt work like that. the PC crowd have every right to be annoyed.

Well I certainly hope my PC could handle ENB but I doubt it though. Still Ash, you are going to release those PC textures for frontend buttons when GTA V console versions officially launched right ?

I'm not going to chew and spit you out. I'll just explain my own PC setup. A lot of people still think of this platform as people in their bedrooms on tiny computer desks lurched over a tiny monitor. My 'PC' is hidden behind and hooked up to my TV by HDMI in the lounge. I use Steam big picture mode (which updates and maintains itself) and sit on the couch like console players with an Xbox 360 pad which works completely perfectly with no issues. All my games are 'press and go' like the consoles, except I play all mine at true 1080P and 60fps and I have a blu-ray drive to watch HD films too.

What would a guy like me get from owning a console? I wouldn't get much use out of it at all.

This. A lot of people still need to get rid of that "PC gamer" stereotype, which is not relevant since like 2005.

i would have to buy 2 consoles cuz I don't game alone that's not going to happen, plus i play my pc games on a 70 inch, 360 would look like ass on a 70 inch. i think 360 should be played on a 24 inch monitor.

Rockstar North is a lazy developer, plain and simple.

They don't even port their games to PC, let alone develop them, they just hand off all their assets to another studio. it's how it's been with like the past 3 games.

also that picture is sweet justice

And nickstone, most people with a powerful PC won't buy a console because they will more often than not consider it a massive downgrade, not to mention a change in gameplay style.

I can get used to driving and shooting with a controller, but the cover mechanics are absolute garbage on a controller I find.

oh my god rofl, icenhancer is a slightly modified and repackaged enb, the guy who 'created' icenhancer probably just have too big of an ego... granted he asked enb creator for permission but still... lol.

anyway I think gta v on pc won't need customized enb set, probably sweetfx is just enough as the vanilla color tones already seem okay... I'll want more peds (like 5x more) and in time real life like vehicles though.

IMO I can see a point in time when R* does not release any AAA titles for the PC for any number of reasons.

For instance, if Steam refused to distribute VI, R* could easily turn around to Valve and say something like this:

You got 95% of the market but since you won't release our title it won't come out on PC at all.

Economics dictate what gets released, a game may be a smash hit with players but flunk in sales terms, as a big AAA game needs to sell millions of units to just break even (See Squenix and their disappointing sales figures).

Piracy is in the minds of suits a PC only problem, console piracy to shareholders and investors is a tiny tiny thing. It's the suits at the publishers that call the shots, not the devs at the end of the day.

If the roles were reversed, if console piracy was front and center in suits minds, there would, IMHO, be a delay in the release and then a PC release too in order to thwart 'piracy'. Which is a futile task.

IV had both though.

It had Steam stuff and GFWL login for MP/verifying

GFWL was laid over the top of Steam stuff so you had both sets of achievements.
