PC Version of GTA V Discussion

But yea, this means likely that since GTA V was listed long before the PC version was before each vanished before the release date was announced, now this one comes up - it tells me likely that PC version comes much sooner than nexgen version for the obvious reason that they were listed so far apart

 

it's ALREADY on the 5th page ffs.

It was moved because technically it is not official news.

 

Retailers, even ones as valued as Amazon have been known to guess wrong.

Sure, they get it right, but there's a saying in Croatian for that, it would loosely be translated to "Even a blind hen sometimes finds the grain".

I just checked HD quality GTA V ingame images, and I must say it looks amazing.

 

It almost looks like PC quality.

There is some traffic, but I agree about pedestrians. I didn't except this much vehicles for consoles.

I just saw a gameplay video. Graphically there's nothing wrong with it. It looks like in the screenshots. And there's plenty of cars on the road for my taste. But that might not satisfy everyone. But the pedestrians! Oh man, it's a ghost town. There's almost no people in the streets. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it was clearly morning in the video. That would be kind of awesome. But I have to see more to be sure.

I also can't take it anymore looking at dumbed down version (i. e. consoles) of the game that could've been awesome on a proper hardware (i. e. PC)

 

They squeezed all power from the consoles to create good graphics, but consoles just can't handle any more content

Time of day does effect pedestrians, but IV on consoles had small amounts of peds and vehicles and was upgraded for PC

As far as I recall, they [Rockstar] said that they got day/night cycle, meaning that in the morning it'll be empty and so on.

I haven't seen big clumps of pedestrians anywhere though (probably spawn a lot on the beach areas though where there's less going on). You get times where you see a group of two or three in the city area but, there does seem to be huge gaps between each spawn.

 

I guess there had to be cutbacks somewhere.

I have checked the 720p gameplay now, and I must say this:

Unfortunately I think Brian was right, and I say unfortunately because I generally dislike conspiracy theorists and like to discard them.
The so called in game screen shots seem very polished up, now I do not think they are "next-gen" (I hate that term), or PC, I just simply think they were polished up.

That being said, the game still looks nice, and I still think it is great, but just not as great as R* would have us believe (eye-candy wise).

And yes, the aliasing is quite bad.

Well, that's pretty much it for the await of first gameplay, nothing new to be seen from now on, we can only wait for the eventual confirmation of the PC version.
Honestly I'm not that bothered with it, but I do feel a bit let down.

It is obvious that there is at least a profit to be made from a PC version, by doing this they have unnecesarily excluded a group of people.

Who the hell cares? Just wait for PC announcement. I am hoping that Rockstar have changed and we will get a PC version this year. Either way, expect announcement this October - November at the worst case.

It is one thing to be skeptical, but it is another to think that one thing must imply a distant other.

 

Today I was discussing the symmetry of the very small and the very large, a notion that would - if one would be willing to stretch one's imagination wide enough - give plausibility to the theory that all of the known universe might comprise a larger entity.

 

Ofcourse I enjoyed the discussion, but both me and her, being the would-be scientists that we are concluded that whilst it may be possible, it is not plausible, and simply stored it as a possibility, but not a probability.

 

Don't worry, I did not go mad for a minute there, what I was trying to point out with that story is that a true skeptic would be wise not to make big leaps in reason and theory.

 

And finally, what I mean with it all: While there is sufficient reason to say the screens were not generated solely with the use of an Xbox360 machine, they might have been:

 

a) touched up

b) generated by a PS3 (we still have no or little gameplay of GTA V on PS3)

c) so called next-gen (I really, really hate that term)

d) PC

 

To say with almost absolute certainty that it is down to just one of those possibility is not the trait of a skeptic, but one who is willing to asume too much.

 

I believe you have a lot of expertise in this area Brian, but I also believe you are eagerly jumping to conclusions.

 

While skeptics question, conspiracy theorists preach.

 

Trust me they are not true skeptics, they just bend things to fit their agenda.

As an amatuer astronomer, I often deal with them, you can not only give them facts, but teach them how to check them, and they will stil, time after time, refuse to reason with them.

Looks like rockstar wants to expand GTA Online for a long time by keep adding more and more content and the only limitation is the disc size and memory so this probably means that the PC version will most definitely come, now perhaps when GTA:O is released on October we will get a PC announcement since they can´t keep updating the console versions forever because of next gen consoles coming out so maybe the PC version will come sooner than we expected

Once again, that is an unjustified leap in reasoning.

You cannot conclude that a PC version is definite, or come sooner than expected on the bassis of that.

 

A PC version is likely to occur, maybe sooner, maybe later, but this offers no insight into it.
