Oh wow, that's a cool way to approach it. Do you reckon if you did it that way you could do the thing I mentioned earlier (about unique number plates for every car that spawns)?

I have no idea how to use it. Except just the readme says to extract the files in the game folder but what about the license place for vehcles? or own license plate?

For having my own license plate I have to use the opdoce earlier posted?

Scroll down to the bottom of the .txt file. That last line is what you use as the format, so if you were to type IMVEHFT into that last line, every vehicle's license plate should read "IMVEHFT".

EDIT: I personally use the format 00AAA000 so that cars could spawn with 12ABC345, 34DEF567, 56GHI890 etc. etc. etc. :)

"This mod allows you to change how the car license plates of SA are generated using basic formatting." You can sorta make it random if you put the number zero (0) for any place you want a number and a capital a (A) for any place you want a letter. I think it's better than just the regular format but I still would like to see a unique license plate tool made someday. :happy:

The replacement for shd_car texture? You know, that's just a part of a vehicle shadow (with the volume shadow).

 

 

Yes, a replacement for "shd_car" texture. I know it's not even shown if the game is set to high settings, but some vehicle models look weird with the rectangle shadow playing on low.

 

Also, I was playing Midnight Club 3 and I noticed how there's a custom texture that appears on cars wheels when they're moving. Pretty much like Vice City helicopters rotors or GTA 3 with Silent's aircraft mod. I think it would be a pretty good addition to the mod.

This is what I mean:

You'd want proper radial blur for the wheels. I don't know the correct/official term for it, but yeah.

What game were those last two pictures from? Also, the Gran Turismo series uses this feature a lot, maybe you could get some inspiration from there:

Yes, but have you tried enabling it and then running SAMP? It works for me.

SA-MP doesn't work with HD license plates.

I think it looks good with a fixed blurred texture. DK would just need to provide way so that modders can make their own textures and the game would show it at a certain speed.

Also, I'm almost certain that Midnight Club doesn't use anything fancier than that, and it works just fine with Vice City rotors as well.

Anyone here tried ImVehFt wth the latest version on Active Dashboard?

 

I always get crashed for some vehicles that has Vehsets.dat line. (or the plugin incompatibility with modloader).

The carplate and carpback in the vehicle.txd are nothing but just plain white so hard to map it.

No. Once the custom plates are on, all the plates are being swapped.

 

You don't need to map them. You just need to assign the material.

DK, if you read this, then would you mind changing something for an upcoming version? Before you released that "patch" with the number plate lights, the way the AI used the indicators was brilliant. But now since that update the AI just keep switching from left indicator to right indicator and it looks bad compared to the previous release. Sometimes the AI don't even use the right indicator when turning, if I have the time I'll try and make a quick video to show you what I mean (because me explaining it like this isn't gonna work, haha).

You need to delete color limiter asi.

With new ImVehFt, each vehicle

-has 128 color slots

-has 8 variation slots (means you can define only 32 (not 128) colors for one car)

Hey, I saw people talking about the dirt feature in the Russian topic. But since I don't understand it, I didn't really understand what they were saying. I was just wondering maybe you could map the dirt the same way as original game maps xvehicleenv128 (the line that runs across every vehicle). It would be really good, since it would automatically appear on every vehicle and surface.
