The later E36 dashes are pretty decent, but the early ones were properly vile. It's like BMW gave the contract to manufacture them to the same people who make those little plastic packages that USB sticks come in.

Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I've always enjoyed the look of the Spyker c8's. I like what they do with the exposed gear mechanism

LOGGoyC.jpg

For more practicality I would probably go for the Mercedes Benz c63 or the SLS.

Ferrari FF. Although I would've gone with a few more carbon fiber touches.

With an interior as nice as this you'd think they'd use a better steering wheel instead of just using an Audi's.

I think this is an option as the original was beautifully crafted but didnt have an airbag.

Man that is awesome. Loving the screen in the centre console. I'd say were probably heading towards an era where all the buttons on the dash are replaced with a single touch screen.

A dashboard from a mid 90s Toyota Previa looks kinda cool.I like how the center console is shaped.

2009-honda-s2000-interior-photo-338162-s

I HATE the Honda S2000,but it has a cool looking interior. The radio is completely hidden(There is a door at the center console). The car climate controls and stuff are easily accesible. And the Push To Start button is awesome. The red and black color scheme makes it great.

1994-Mazda-RX-7-R2-interior-Nardi-wheel-

The Mazda RX7 had a streamlined look.Alot of curves throughout the dash. The curves even continued through the doors.Alot of dials on the instrument cluster.

The Mk1 Leon dash is exactly the same as the A3s AFAIK.

I like the post-2005 BMW dashboards, also Audi, Mercedes and Porsche, but these are my favorites:

BMW Z4

2010-BMW-Z4-Interior.jpg

Benz C63 AMG

2012_mercedes_benz_c63_amg_coupe_16.jpg

the only thing I think they could change is the position of the shift knob, it looks like its blocking the climate control buttons.

I also like my BMW 120i dashboard, everything is simple and well built, I was shocked when I compared it to my friend's 2011 Camaro (plastic all over the place!! :O ):

Sorry for the quality, I took the pics with my phone.

Modern BMW inteiors are really high quality, but I hate how many of them have a big flat 'shelf' on top. I prefer an interior that slopes up to meet the bottom of the windscreen. I suppose you get used to it, but for me it really throws of my feel of the car's dimensions.

I'm pretty clued up on part sharing in Volkswagen AG. It's all fairly common knowledge. My point was that the Mk1 LCR dash isn't unique.

I've always liked the Z3M coupé dash.

Love the Tuscan/T350 interior. Looks much better without the Halfords style OEM head unit though:

I'm a big fan of the Iso Lele dash. A less well known car from a less well known marque.

Except for that vile headunit. A Becker Mexico would be much more appropriate.

Flicking through the pages of this topic, does anyone else think silver plastic should be banned? It instantly spoils even the most elegant of dashboards.
