Lurch
Shelby's beautiful 60's creations: Aside from the wheel (and really only the center portion of it), that dash is pretty much all standard AC Ace. Guess it's missing a couple of switches and it has a curl to the dash. Other than that, nearly the same. The Cobra dash might just be a later Ace dash. Tycek
Sweet Jesus, what happened to these times? I would love to cruise in something like this. It would feel like a Star Trek. Steering wheel is a bit overdone with all these buttons, though.

Mega
That's a 360CS, but the suede finish is I believe not something that came from the factory. Also it makes the whole dash look boxy. Signature soon.

It can't be a coincidence that every CS (or at least US market CS?) has that same dash then.

Lurch
Doesn't the dash on the one you posted just say "360 modena"? They never did a proper full manual CS, did they?
Mega
The one I posted is a 360 modena indeed, it was to compare the shape of dashboards. But I was talking about the CS. I've seen a couple of them that were almost all leather. Perhaps just heavily/custom optioned. I have little knowledge of the CS. Signature soon. visionist
The Gordon Keeble GT compensates for its lack of knee & leg room with a quirky dash whose blizzard of un-marked toggle switches begs you to start flicking them at random and whose dinky little shifter appears meant for a toddler's wrist- perhaps explaining the aforementioned lack of room. visionist
The Renault Avantime has a typically (well, atypically these days...) quirky French dash which belies its apparent simplicity with some weird ergonomics and a suprising amount of kit. Shame about the white headliner. -In Blue- Note the individual left & right climate control modules sitting like little islands at the extremities. The doors are double-hinged and open wide enough to prevent reaching the handle when seated. Oops.

Chazzer3
I have quite a mix of dashes that I like. I generally agree with you guys who like simple, "thin" steering wheels. A classic wooden Nardi is pretty much my ideal steering wheel. I hate steering wheels with massive centre bits and huge collections of buttons. I like minimal things, so I must say the Tesla Model S dash is really nice to me, probably one of my favourites. Really clean looking: The clean lines are great, and although the steering wheel is pretty chunky the clean design keeps it looking slick. I also like things like the BMW 2002 interior, simple and nice, a bit of wood here and there certainly improves things Awesome (better with a manual though) I'm not such a big fan of modern interiors with a million buttons on the dash and trans-tunnel. Gets a bit overwhelming. I also find a lot of dashes a bit too "swoopy" these days. I dunno. I do like the trend of circular HVAC vents though, e.g. the new Jag XJ comes to mind and Merc SLS. They looks pretty neat. I drive a Fiat 500 currently, and like that interior quite a bit. It's simple, of course it's a cheap car so materials aren't great, but the steering wheel is wrapped in good leather, and what buttons there are a really well integrated. Here's an old pic of mine - rare (discontinued) colour combinations going on: Excuse the out of focus photo.. I never did get around to taking an in focus shot.. should do that before I move on car-wise...!

I think it adds to the sophisticated classy look of this car's interior. I must say I'm a sucker for centered clocks on dashboards by the way. Devyl
That clock in the middle absolutely ruins it. Like the Porsche Chrono pack clocks on early 997s did. The analog clock is a nice touch. Much similar to how Bentleys incorporate Breitling clocks in their dashes. As a matter of fact, I LOVE the Bentley dash. There's so much more than meets the eye. For example, on older Bentleys, the air vent opening/closing mechanism (the silver things by the vents) used to be rods that were backed by felt lining. When you open or close the vent, there is no hard "clunk" feeling. Since technology has moved into modern cars, the felt lining has been replaced by a mechanical resistance that simulates the same exact felt lining feeling. Another example is the engine turned trim. Each one of those is hand made. The turning is done by hand. The cutting is done by hand. It is an exquisite dash, indeed. __SAAB__9-3__
visionist
My problem with the CGT dashes is I see Volkswagen switches everywhere. Total turn off. Those plastic shift paddles are inexcusable. The driver touches those all the time. This newer dash is more interesting than the old one though. The mix of turned alloy & wood looks better than all wood. The domed cupholder cover is the best bit.

The driver touches those all the time. Oh I agree 100% there. They could have at least used the R8 paddles for the Audi RS line; Kinda like how they used the Dodge Viper seats in the SRT-4 Neon to spice it up a bit for the driver. visionist
One of my favourite dashes. The DS5. There's a lot going on here. The individual details are stylish; sawtooth switchgear, knurled alloy knobs, pleated leather, a clock so cool even DogDay might like it, all awash with sultry scarlet mood lighting. It's the shape of the dash itself however; its steep inclination, matched with the overhead console, finished by that deliciously phallic shifter (hence the driver's expression), which gives this cabin such a special ambience. An interior so agreeable it puts the car high up on my shopping list: it might have upright syndrome* and a weedy 1.6 engine, but the headliner's black. *Upright syndrome refers to modern hatchbacks and some saloons which need a front quarterlight due to their steep bonnet line. It looks utterly sh*t.
