Danburite
So there's a rumour going around that supposedly (and frankly, I'll believe it when I see it) that GTA V is going to have multiple protagonists. BUT, if it's true, isn't it about time that Rockstar made a female protagonist? I mean, I remember that a few people lost their sh*t back when San Andreas was announced because CJ was black (dumbest complaint ever), so I can only imagine the outrage that would occur if we had to play as a girl for an *entire* game (dumbest *theoretical* complaint ever). But, IF GTA V does have multiple protagonists to choose from, why not make one of them a woman? People who hate the idea would still have the middle-aged white guy from the trailer, but for those of us who want the option, it's there. Anyone agree? Disagree? golf wang
Having the option seems pretty cool, wouldn't mind playing as a female but it would seem odd at first. Also, people hating on CJ for being black are obvious racists, they're same group of people who hated the San Andreas gangsta theme and such. junkpile
It's time for a DOG to be protagonist. But yes, you're right. If there are multiple, it would be time for a woman to step in. If she's running a class like Mona Sax. While speaking of Max Payne 3, well, and even GTA 4 online, I see more and more players rather picking the female characters to play. Guess they rather look at some animated female ass, than a male one.

Raynos
obvious racists, they're same group of people who hated the San Andreas gangsta theme and such. lol.. Ok, so If people don't like the gangsta theme, wearing colours to prove loyalty and part taking in retarded acts, they are obviously racist? You do realize that there are Black people out there that absolutely HATE the glamorisation of gangsternism? A reasonable percentage of people that didn't like the gangster theme was because they HAD interactions with these individuals in their life, and it wasn't a pleasant one. Now, you'll say, Well well well, What about Russian Gangsters? Mafia and what not? Well the Russians and Mafia keep to themselves, you will rarely hear about them harassing people and causing havoc. Also, What happened to personal taste? Just because someone didn't like the gangster aspect of GTA SA, How does this make them a racist? It is the culture that most have the problem with, not the skin colour. On Topic. Female protag? C'mon guy, this is GTA, not Saints Row.. Rockstar knows that females are to be presented as objects, objects of pleasure and eye candy for us males. Seriously, have you ever seen a female use a gun? lol, just wouldn't work, Dont get me wrong though, Females are great! They do great house work, they are sometimes pretty decent cooks and hey, We all need them for sex. However, it ends there. Unless you want a protag that cooks and cleans, serves her man and provides sexual satisfaction for men.. well, a female protag in GTA wont happen anytime soon. It is the culture that most have the problem with, not the skin colour. I worded it kind of wrongly. I meant the people who hated CJ because he was black were also in the same category of people who hate gangsta themes and such. Of course there are black people who hate the gangster lifestyle, and rightfully so, it's not really a good path to take in life. Street gangs nowadays rarely harass people on the street, at least where I live in Los Angeles, that was more of a 90s problem. Organized mafias like the Russians, Italians, etc. have largely been taken down so they're not a big issue anymore, but let me make it clear that they are no better than street gangs, they still murder and take part in racketeering and were actually causing bigger problems in the United States than petty street gangs were, so in a way they were far worse, but more secretive. ChrissDaMan
I been thinking of javing a female protag.. yeah it would be cool but i rather want it in a DLC (which i know everybody loves) like TBoGT with 30 missions as most, not true a 95 mission storyline

PD: no i am not saying that the gangs of today do that I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "protect your flag", could you clarify that for me please? And by ruining walls I assume you mean graffiti, which is not exactly a street gang thing really because skaters do the same thing, it's one of the four hip hop elements actually which originated in the Bronx in the 80s. There are groups of kids in Los Angeles called "tagging crews" which graffiti many urban walls, this is all they do really and don't partake in any violent actions (most of the time). Eh.. no. I dislike all that Gangsta Stuff (and it was super annoying sometimes in SA) but I am certainly not racist. These are different things. And for GTA V I actually prefer the black/hispanic guy over the white balcony guy as the protagonist. How did you came to that conclusion anyways? OT: As an option a female protagonist would be kinda nice even though I can't imagine it in a GTA for some reason (except for MP of course). Finn 7 five 11
@Raynos and a few others. CJ was not a Gangster, he was a Gangsta, difference is that the Mafia are Gangsters, they are the organized crime. People wearing colours starting turf wars living in run down ghetto areas playing out the African-American stereotype are Gangsta's, there's a difference. As for female protagonists? Well i guess it would be good for a female audience, i don't often connect with female characters as well as males though for the obvious differences, and 99% of the time a female criminal is some butt-ugly masculine sort of person, not a sexy slim chick who knows karate, that's why i hate Angelina Jolie's films where she is exactly what i described, it's just stupid. Women are naturally less violent and physically weaker and in a rough criminal world would often get pushed around unless they were really rugged. Plus good looking women have many more opportunities than ugly women, a hot girl on average would live a better life than an ugly one so why go into crime? I am not against it, but i am not all for it, just seems silly.

They are very much gangster but at a smaller scale. They have rival gangs, a hierarchy of power (street soldiers, shot callers, etc.), and are involved with racketeering on a small scale (sell drugs, take over businesses for "protection"). The key difference is the Mafia is family based, street gangs are not family based (usually).
