Don't know if this has been discussed before, but...

I understand that there will be a digital version november 8th. So what's all this talk about typing it out etc? Can't the people who are getting that digital version just make screenshots of it and post them here?

thats forbidden due copyright infringement

Retyping the text of the article verbatim would be a copyright violation as it is GI's original content. The facts in text are not covered by copyright, but repeating all the facts in a text without copying the original expression of those facts can be tricky to do when one text is the only source. Rather than try to rephrase every paragraph it's better to make a list of topics then list everything that is revealed about each topic.

Rockstar artwork and screenshots used by GI are owned by Rockstar. GI has permission to use Rockstar's images and decides how to arrange them on their pages. In terms of Fair Use, it would not be infringing to show a cropped detail or a thumbnail-size copy of a copyrighted image in order to discuss facts such as "this image shows there are tractors in the game" or "she has a Love Fist t-shirt!" or "what kind of choke collar does this dog have?" but not to reproduce the full detailed image just to share it. If it's just enough to explain a fact and no more, it's probably Fair Use. If an image is complete enough to satisfy all interest in it, then it's too much for Fair Use.

Knowing you guys, you already know this, but here is some high rez versions of the preorder poster on Gamerinformer's site

Or you could have just linked to this page instead of posting giant images inline.

You f*cking twat, you know how many people have already come in here to post the exact same thing. 2 giant f*cking images of something we've already seen a thousand times. Nobody cares. Stop chewing up our bandwidth. Post hyperlinks to images that are big enough to stretch the page.

so 2008-2012

being in devlopment since late 2008 I think

GTA IV's game development was completed in 2007, they just had issues actually getting it to perform on the PS3 - but the game was done. I assume V has been in development since Autumn 2007, so when the game finally releases it will have been in production for 5 1/2 years. Essentially making it the longest it has ever taken for a GTA game to be developed. The game is going to be massive in terms of story, features and map size - I mean hell, all you have to do is look at Gameinformer's press release saying it's the biggest reveal they've done, ever.

But...but...that's how I wrote all my research papers (JK) biggrin.gif

Anyway, what good would the internet be, if you couldn't find the entire digitally-copied and text-extracted versions of the article via Google within 10 minutes of the moment they are released to paying subscribers? tounge.gif

I really haven't read much of this topic, but how do you get the digital version on PC (when it releases)? Do you need to sign up to GameInformer's site, and/or do you need to be a subscriber to the magazine?

I think you have to subscribe. Does anyone know if you can buy a single DIGITAL issue? I'm wondering because I already know that the physical issues are going to be sold out day one.

My brother is subscribed to the magazine. I just want to see the article a few weeks before it shows up in the mail. tounge.gif

About "buying a single digital issue", I'm not sure if that'll be possible. If it's not made public free of charge, then you probably need to be member/subscriber. Somebody else can probably explain this better.

Only on 10" Android tablets or iPad/iPhone.

Who else thinks GTAForums should receive our very own digital copy of this issue? After all those times we were waiting for each cover to be revealed only to be disappointed month after month...

You can subscribe to the digital edition for $19.98 (without tax) on Game Informer's website. This is available worldwide. If you don't want to subscribe and just want a single issue then you'll need to own an iPad (not sure about Android) and use the Newsstand app to purchase a single issue or, of course if you live in America, visit a Game Stop store and buy a print copy (I think you'll need to wait until the 16th November).

I honestly don't think $19.98 isn't too bad. You get the GTA V issue, another 11 issues and you're also paying Game Informer for their work. Of course, you could just wait until someone posts it online. Your choice.

To my fellow brits, I may have found a solution.

http://gb.zinio.com/

You can use that site to buy copies of magazines. If you go here you can buy a single issue of game informer and read it on your PC.

I just did a little experiment and bought the previous issue and it let me read it on my PC. Apparently there are other weays you can read it but I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if this digital issue is released on the 8th or if we'll have to wait later, but if you want to support GI then this is as good a way as any.

You can apparently also install Zinio software on your PC to allow you to read it offline, but I've not tried that out.

Sorry if someone already posted this solution. Enjoy (hopefully)!

That site has the november issue available as a single issue though. I wonder if they'll have December's on the 8th. Doubt it.

Not bothering me since I have a subscription smile.gif I'll get an email on Thursday as soon as it's ready to read biggrin.gif

Any Australians know how we can get the december issue? I think there's an Australian version too but that might not even have it.
