Makes me wonder... do they intend to release all the info that is going to be in the GI on their newswire... or do they intend for their fans to pay in order to get info? monocle.gif

They will release trailer two which will create a huge demand for the GI issue. And then they will release some info themselves shortly after that

Not to worry. If the people here on the forum transcribe the article, it will have so many spelling errors that it can't possibly violate the DMCA.

We got the first trailer back in November 2011

 

GTA IV was released 13 months after trailer 1 (originally was going to be released 7 months after trailer 1 but was delayed)

 

RDR was released 12 months after trailer 1

 

LA Noire and Max Payne 3 were released 6-7 months after trailer 1

 

Does trailer 1 indicate what stage of development the game is at?

 

Maybe when they announce trailer 1 back in November they planned a traditional October release, which would be 11 months later after trailer 1, sounds reasonable right?

 

But because of previous games being delayed they decide not to release any more info until the game was complete and ready

 

So by them not releasing any info at all, we have no idea how far along in development the game is

When I get the Game Informer cover-story from my source then I'll maybe make a detailed summarize of the 18 pages in my own words. Unless somebody else want to make it. Damn I have a chemistry test the day after so let's hope that I will finish it in time.

18 pages can be either good or bad

 

Either the game isnt as revolutionary as we thought but rather, just very large, and there will be 18 pages giving away the entire game.

 

Or the game is a serious bold new direction and we are in for an amazing time

Either the game isnt as revolutionary as we thought but rather, just very large, and there will be 18 pages giving away the entire game.

 

Or the game is a serious bold new direction and we are in for an amazing time

I think it's gonna be the 2nd, the same way GTA 3 reinvented the franchise, I think GTA V will. after the disappointment a lot of fans had with IV, I think they've gone all out on this one and used every ounce of their knowledge to make this the best game it possibly can be at this point in time.

The game is definitely now at a stage where it represents the final product that will be shipped out. If it wasn't then they wouldn't have flown in Game Informer to review it. What's the point in writing an article about a game that isn't finished or nearly finished?

 

If it isn't complete by now then it will be within the next 3-4 months at the latest, I think. For all we know the game could be finished and ready to ship. However, I don't think it'll be out until March, April or May. Retailers need a few months notice before a game goes on sale so they can set up pre orders, bundles and stuff like that. They could already know the release date and that'd mean that Rockstar are gonna announce it SOON. Still, not a lot of places are accepting pre orders yet. We need the release date.

 

It's just all speculation at the moment. It's possible but I think very unlikely. I don't expect the game to start shipping until February/March.

I think that GTA V was originally scheduled for an October 2012 release but a delay happened anytime between the first trailer and the first time when Take-Two spoke about the expected income (not earnings per share) which was on May 22nd. That are 6 months where a delay easily could've happened. It's just speculation but it's possible. A trailer usually means that the game is months away, not years. This is usually the case with Rockstar Games.

So i went to the gameinformer.com and it re-directs me to gamestop to buy the digital subscription. However, it says something about Usually ships in 24 hours. It's digital isn't it? What do they send?

Somebody help me with the quote, I just wanna make sure.

OT: Ugh, I just found out that my digital subscription does not match with my e-mail or some stupid ****. I hope I can fix this. I need that magazine. Plus, Rockstar said themselves that that they are going to withhold a lot of info of the game to give us surprises. Perhaps 18 pages of info is just the tip of the iceberg.

Other games that are due for release in 2013 (Last of Us, Watch Dogs, Tomb Raider etc) have either TBA 2013 or Q2 2013 etc but not GTA V

 

It just has TBA

 

What is the reason for it not saying TBA 2013?

Exactly my problem. I've been a subscriber to the print edition for almost 2 years now, and decided to change my print subscription to digital (for GTA V)

 

Now when i try to view the current issue via PC, i get a sign-in error angry.gif

 

I emailed them. Hope they can resolve this soon.

I feel the same way and I am not sure if I want to read it. To be honest I probably will end up doing it anyway. However, I dont believe the article is going to be a constant stream to details but more or less just trying to grasp the background of the main character(s) and the little things that Matt Bertz spotted during the demo. It is going to be more of a way to make you buy the game and not just an orgy of information.

I feel the same way and I am not sure if I want to read it. To be honest I probably will end up doing it anyway. However, I dont believe the article is going to be a constant stream to details but more or less just trying to grasp the background of the main character(s) and the little things that Matt Bertz spotted during the demo. It is going to be more of a way to make you buy the game and not just an orgy of information.

The game won't be spoiled don't worry about it. They know what they are doing.
