qwert2812
no need for unnecessary argument, yes, ultimately, PC is definitely superior, but we all know that not everyone has ton of money for a super computer, so if people are happy with what they have, let them be like my friends always said, if "it" can let me play the games I want, I dont care what "it" is

œaœa
Console gaming is nice for relaxing on the couch. However, after a year of PC gaming, I've noticed that I can't play consoles anymore.
highnrich
you get the nearly the best gaming hardware for around 850$ right now, (680/7970, 2500k, 16gb ram) i dont understand why console gamers always say a gaming pc costs thousands of dollar and that pc gamers have to upgrade the hardware every month? i bought 2 pcs in the last 7 years. and played everygame except of crysis 1 before buying my 2nd pc. also the games for pc are way cheaper... also you can play nearly every game with your 360 controller (which costs 20 bucks) and can connect your pc to your 40 inch tv and play in 1080p @ 60 fps with anti aliasing and sh*t i really cant see the problem however...i use the 7 year old consoles only for the exclusives like RDR or Demon Souls, for multiplattform games i prefer the pc port Edited October 13, 2012 by highnrich

ThisIsHorosho
it doesn't bother me all that much to be completely honest...if it comes out the same time with consoles - good, perfect!...if it isn't than i'll wait till it'll come out for PC and since i've got Xbox 360 as well i will most likely buy it for xbox 360...the only thing that could pi*s me off is if GTAV won't be released for xbox 360 as well, probability of which is well...you know how high it is...sure if its not released on PC, it will mean no trainers, no mods, worse graphics for me, but guess what? not gonna happen haha...it WILL be released on PC...no brainer... Jewstinian
Hopefully in a week after the consoles release, or maybe even on the same day. I wouldn't be able to take 6 months of avoiding GTA V spoilers, or spending 120 dollars for both console and PC, since I do own an XBOX as well. no need for unnecessary argument, yes, ultimately, PC is definitely superior, but we all know that not everyone has ton of money for a super computer, so if people are happy with what they have, let them be like my friends always said, if "it" can let me play the games I want, I dont care what "it" is You can build a PC for like 375 and still be able to play the games a whole lot better than the consoles. SkittlesTTD
Hello! I am a new member, this being my first post! What I really hope for is GTA V to run on my PC (laptop). Nothing more... I'm sure the game will be extraordinary. I'm asking for an opinion if my laptop will be handle to run GTA V or not. I'm aware that nobody can say for sure, as the game didn't launch, but maybe someone with experience will be able to estimate a bit. My PCs specs: Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz Nvidia GTS 360m 1GB. DDR5 8GB. RAM DDR3 I believe these are the most important. Hope someone will be able to give me an answer. GTA Forums are very cool, by the way!

SkittlesTTD
@mirmihir, I did and it ran very well at med-high details with a 1680*900 res I think... Should that give me hopes regarding running V?
Speetix
First PS3 and xbox then PC. There's more work with programming the game on PC. The errors and compatibility with all the other programs.
JeteaFive
Imo it's better to play in front of TV than a display 24". I think the experience is better on console but for the mods, graphics etc... PC is way better but you have to wait months before playin' it. PC is way better but you have to wait months before playin' it. Thats a personal preference. I'm a PC gamer and have a 27 inch screen, now beleive me i have given consoles a shot, but for ME its not as immersive as being up close and personal. The sofa is for when im feeling tired and exhausted, but when i sit at my desk in front of my PC, im ready for an action-packed, compelling, thrill-ride of a story that will force me to the edge of my seat! Just my thoughts, whatever helps you sleep at night

Should that give me hopes regarding running V? well if you can stand that resolution then sure.. i honestly cannot stand any resolution below 1920 x 1080 on a desktop unless its on mobile or consoles.. any game that i play that won't run 1920 x 1080 just puts me off from playing the game at all. i somehow can stand the 720P resolution for consoles though

Ad far as my experience with the RAGE engine goes is that it's not that GPU intensive, but really weighs hard on the CPU. Since you have a decent quadcore I think you will be fine. Try running GTA: IV as well. It will probably run smooth.
SkittlesTTD
@D.Dodge, I ran GTA IV some time ago on it and it ran on overall-high-settings on same resolution as MP3 smoothly. buzzbass
We all also know that PC gaming does not always consist of a 10000$ custom gaming rig. yeah, just check this gameplay, left marketing out, nobody need the ultimate i7+sli/crossfire for gaming. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVvD7tjvpNk I think is not to bad result for a "oldest" PC... SkittlesTTD
@r34ld34l and @ buzzbass, do you believe that if I set the graphics to all-low (minimum) with a decent res (1600*900) I'll be able to play smoothly?
nikobellic91
@Skittles, you should run it fine at 720p. Anything higher than that, I dunno.

My first reaction to your question was "hell no," but since you stated that GTAIV and MP3 run fine on that machine, you should be set for GTAV. Some machines tend to run GTAIV a lot better then one would expect, I like to refer to owners of said hardware as "lucky bastards." You should sell that laptop on ebay as "GTA ready," you'd make a killing Well, that GPU is fairly decent http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.24058.0.html
