PJ WIL
Hey Guys what do you think will happen with the new GTA 5 PC version if there is one do you think it will come out prior to the console version or at the same time ? And as well do you think the driver will be updated so the game is not as intensive but still graphics wise amazing? PJ WIL
Yeah I agree but as far as Rockstar goes they launched Max Payne 3 in a PC format along with the console version

el_roy1985
Yeah I agree but as far as Rockstar goes they launched Max Payne 3 in a PC format along with the console version They were not released at the same time. I think PC was released two weeks after. R* did say they want to try to release console and PC games at the same time in the future. Either way, it certainly will not hit PC before console. PJ WIL
I stand corrected on the Max Payne comment but whats weird is on Amazon you can pre order for Xbox and PS3 now this could be because its coming out later but my immediate thought was there was not going to be a PC version

S1LV3R_W0LF
I think it will be at same time or like Max Payne or Assassins Creed or many other games that have been doing that lately. They release on consoles and 1 week - 1 month later on PC, there are no news of any exclusive contracts so I don't think they will hold it for so long. rare.steak
Prior to the consoles? When in recent memory has that happened with R*'s games?
thestoneman420
Always console first. Then you can make money before all the PC pirating starts.
Irrational
Prior to the consoles? When in recent memory has that happened with R*'s games? GTA 1. -Edit- Now I see that you said "recent", my bad.
MontelGino
I know for a fact that its there is going to be a PC Port. It might NOT (Keyword NOT) Come out for release date but like what they did with Max Payne 3 At the end of the month. And who knows might not be a crappy port like IV. Gtaghost22
I'd say about 3 months after the console version is out, or even earlier than that, no less than a month though.
Finn 7 five 11
Well Max Payne 3 was released only 2 weeks after the console version, Max Payne is definitely more PC oriented but i still think they will do something similar with V.

Lol nice one, I think most people missed that! I hope V is released on all platforms at the same time, but if it happens the same as IV I will probably buy on 360 and PC versions again. Was nice rediscovering IV on PC (though I was still playing free roam every now and then) with much better graphics and mods (the real cars mods makes LC feel more.....real!). JaggySnake
No way it's coming out before PS3 or 360. It might come out at the same time on all platforms but if not then it's gonna be a wait for weeks/months. I think the game might be done for consoles but Rockstar are keeping quiet until the PC version is almost done so they can release it at the same time. Because fact is that MP3 wasn't a port.. it was an optimized and in parallel developed PC version along the console versions. Know the difference between a port and "normal", optimized game. GTA IV definitely was a port like the previous GTAs and other games from R* (Bully, LA Noire, ...). So, it's safe to assume that GTA V won't be a port this time (regardless of the "good, old tradition" of prior GTAs). Of course MP3 is different to GTA and more PC-orientated as already mentioned but at least it's the same graphics engine, so I wouldn't understand why they would scrapping the development routine of MP3 (on PC) which works very well (as well as the engine, it runs very smooth on many PCs). I predict that it will be announced for all three main platforms with a release date (or the month at least). And then maybe it will be announced that the PC version "needs more time" and it will be delayed for a few weeks or so.

SaintJimmy
I went to my local JB today. Inquired about GTA V for PC because they had it listed. I asked the guy, he seemed to be aware of R* and their PC trends and all this and he told me 'To be perfectly honest we have it listed as coming out for PC, we have no release dates, but we are taking preorders for it and that tells me that it is definitely going to be released on PC'

Kipsta
There have been many threads regarding the PC version. All im hoping for is a release within one month to the console versions with higher resolutions, textures and a video editor.

Even if what they said is true(if you need examples of R* outright lying, just grab your GTAIV case and start reading,) you have to agree that the engine was developed for the xbox and then ported around to other platforms. So even if you have people working in parallel on a sequel, do you think the PC version got the same man hours allotment as the other platforms did? The ratio is more probably 4 or 5 to 1, in favor of the consoles; xbox taking the lead again, probably. What makes MP3 a console game is the typical over the shoulder camera angle, the typical action adventure genre, the controls, the heavy movie aspect of the game... I'm not saying any of this is bad, it's bound to be good for a certain type of gamer. What I'm saying is that MP3 is a port in the full meaning of the word. There's nothing inherently bad about that word, there are decent and awful ports. MP3 constitutes a solid one, but it still is a port lets just learn to accept that. 018361
Hmm i just though of something. Maybe the wait is because of the PC version. They did say they wanted to release them at the same time so, maybe they are waiting to make sure the game is as stable as Max Payne3 was. I actually think they will release at the same time now for this very reason.
