JaggySnake
Was just thinking about this. I think this time Rockstar wants to release GTA V on all platforms at the same time. They said that they won't talk about the game until it's ready to be released. Maybe the game is finished for PS3/360 and could have been released this month but they are putting it on hold until they get the PC version done. Once that's nearly ready (March/April maybe) then they will start talking. What do you think? Do you think the PC version is the reason we're not getting any info? Vincentto
I hope they don't make the same mistake whit GTA IV. First PS3/Xbox360 six months later PC version and it was sent even tested. Glitches an blurbs shadow fails.
Dragonjack
Well I bet the Rockstar family know what the hell they are doing with GTAV today in my opinion. I hope to see GTAV on the PC verison "someday" actually.
JaggySnake
I really hope so. i hate waiting a month longer. It was 6 months between IV coming out on PS3/360 and PC. They should definitely bring it out for all platforms at the same time. It sucks for PC gamers. I'd hate, after all this waiting, to wait another 6 months once the game is actually out. Just wondering if this is the reason for the long silence. Rockstar said they weren't gonna be talking about the game until it was ready to release so maybe we need to wait on the PC version catching up. gta player13
Maybe.I don't mind waiting a few months because I have school anyway. And I play on PC.So Even if it was released this month,I wouldn't get it because I want the PC version. Shoumaker
Well yes, atleast I hope so. I hated it when some console loosers ruined the ending of gta IV for me, this would not have happened if it were a simultaneous release. None of us really know the reason for the huge lack of info regarding this game, this could be it.

Freezer89
I hope they don't make the same mistake whit GTA IV.First PS3/Xbox360 six months later PC version and it was sent even tested. Glitches an blurbs shadow fails. Especially after the PC version of Max Payne 3 (altough it still was released later, only weeks).. it would be an absolute no-brainer to repeat the mistake again. And I don't think that the reason is the PC version.. I mean also the consoles have problems like the PS3 (I think it was the DLC for GTA IV which has been delayed for a month or so because of the PS3 version or am I confusing something there?) Shoumaker
@MosquitoSmasher, It was supposed to be a simultaneous release but was delayed 2 weeks.
œaœa
It's possible. Maybe the plan is, give them no info and in return they get 3 consoles to choose from at the start?
Deffpony
I highly doubt this. If this was the case they would just release it for consoles and keep working on the pc version. Otherwise this entire time is a waste of possible revenue. Not to mention if the game comes on consoles first it will hype pc gamers into getting it
Ruscris2
Well. they could actually develop the PC version AT THE SAME TIME as console versions. And there would be no delays. Just hire a extra team to work on PC. @deffpony: Actually, your wrong. I was thinking about buying Assasin's Creed III for PC, but then, when i heard that it's delayed one month, i gave up. The fact Ubisoft released every AC game on PC later (each time with the promise to be out on the same day as consoles) and they call us pirates made me not buy the game. I'll just watch a playthrough on Youtube to find out how the story ends. Atleast Rockstar treats you right, even if their product is delayed/buggy (like GTA IV). Look how many patches and video contests (with prizes!) they done. Edited October 10, 2012 by Ruscris2

Bret_HartvsSting
This is a question to all you guys out there who play games on consoles, how on earth do you game on 7 year old hardware, on low resolution with terrible graphics? I admit I'm fussy with my graphics, but now the difference is just ridiculous, and I'll probably refuse to play GTA V on console.

I couldn't give a shiny sh*t about graphics - if I was THAT bothered about graphics, I'd definitely have to think about re-evaluating my priorities in life. Bret_HartvsSting
Yeah fair points, the graphics aren't the most important thing, but I'll quickly explain why I can't stand it sometimes. * Console being a 1280 x 720 resolution you have 1 million pixels on the screen * PC will have 1920 x 1080 resolution, you have 2 million pixels on the screen. This means you have 1 million pixels of information on screen, a difference of half. This is especially noticeable at longer distances, for example there are a lot of signs that can't be read further away and details that can't be made out, like people and stuff. No anisotropic filtering also destroys the clarity of things when they're on an angle which means you won't be able to read a lot of the details. Another massive difference is the frame rate. Ever notice how on a fast-panning shot at the cinema (a movie will usually be 24 frames a second) you can't make out details, and you definitely can't read numbers and letters on signs. Sorry, for the complaining, but I just feel you lose a lot of detail, and it destroys the immersion.
AtomicPunk
We won't know 'til it releases or R* gives info. If PC isn't coming out the same time, then I feel sorry for 'PC-only' gamers because they may never get it. But it is logical to think that maybe this is what R* are doing because that way it will be one big KA-CHING!!!
kurvenflo
Otherwise this entire time is a waste of possible revenue. On the contrary, it can be a brilliant move economically to let a finished game rest in the drawer and let ist revenue slide into the next year. But only if you are sure that the revenue will come. When you already have a bad year and your company is healthy enough, you can build up an accumulated loss in one FY to allocate with your tax dept in the future when you make profit again. It helps to save taxes in a very large scale, regarding a few periods in total.
EncryptedReality
I have a good feeling that PC version of V will be silmatoneus this time (or only 1-2 week delay)!
