woggleman
What I mean is that in the game you can do good things for people who then will support you and be more likely to help you out and less likely to snitch. If you give money to pay people's rent in a poor areas they will let you hide in their house when you have a wanted level and you won't get wanted levels so easily in that neighborhood. As you rise to power you can afford to do it more. Many gangsters like Pablo Escobar and John Gotti did the same thing so why not in this game? grope_4_that_date
Eh, I don't know - I think Ned Luke is going to be very similar to Robert De Niro in Heat, or Tony Soprano in The Sopranos. He's going to be badass. Edited October 9, 2012 by grope_4_that_date

PutAQuarterIn
Sounds like a cool feature.I like how it's based on something that has been done here in the real world. Of course my plan is to kill anything that moves either way.
woggleman
You can still be badass. Would anybody say Pablo Escobar and Gotti were soft? It's a way of getting the people on your side and to turn against law enforcement.
Coral_City
Let's make branching storylines where minor characters affect even the slightest thing.
Cyfa
This would be a neat feature. Sort of like a respect thing except for civilians. Also maybe it could work seeing as how it appears that Ned Luke is already quite wealthy, so he could do some crime and decide to donate money or help people out. But what I want is people coming to me because they need a favor, so I do it for them or loan them what they want, but then like the Godfather Ned says 'if I do this for you I will call on you someday, and you will do something for me.' faizanali
Although its purely sad that R* never released RDR on PC BUT I saw the walkthrough's (Who cares if it was sh*tty graphics) And i saw the mission "I know You" in which that Stranger tells us to do good.......so yeah i would like a same influence. Racecarlock
Something tells me the citizens aren't going to like someone who drives down the sidewalk at them. Just saying. This is why karma and honor systems have no place in GTA. One rampage, and you'll have negative a billion karma and will get a six star wanted level if you're reported for littering. Cuzzzin
I think your idea speaks to a larger reputation system that I'm not sure would be right for a new GTA game. What would be great--and actually in line with what real criminals do--is give you the ability to invest in some community programs as well as businesses. So, you can use your money to invest in Youth Centers and Clinics. It could give you a minor reward like police in the area looking the other way on one-star offenses, an extra safehouse, access to a girlfriend, or a shoutout on the radio. MikeMyth
Eh, I don't know - I think Ned Luke is going to be very similar to Robert De Niro in Heat, or Tony Soprano in The Sopranos. He's going to be badass. He's gonna be like Niko, except more bada*s. For instance, he is probably going to be the only 50 year old man who can do an infinite amount of loops in a jet. ( If you can do that in the game at least )
KPort45
I like the idea kind of like a big drug kingpin that everyone supports because he helps everyone when they need something.
I Shot The Sheriff
What if you just break into a house and threaten the ppl inside so they let you stay till the police goes away? It's more GTA
