I can't be arsed to look through 30 pages, so if this has been covered lately, feel free to lock. On topic: I'm curious as to how you guys feel on the subject. Would you prefer to call 362-555-0100/access phone's cheat menu for health or would you rather press ? Personally, having grown up with GTA and its awesome cheats, I've memorized a few of the codes by heart; just give me a PlayStation controller and I will give you a jetpack, full health, and 3 types of weapon sets, among others. So I guess I have a bias and the new way of entering cheats really bothered me in IV. I can actually enter the codes faster than I can fetch them from my cellphone. What do you think? Edit: let's assume the issue with the cellphone being unequipped when being shot at (non-staggering damage) is fixed, and that you will be playing this on a console/with joypad. ThisIsHorosho Posted October 9, 2012 Share Posted October 9, 2012 nah this problem is not for me...i use trainers most of the times anyway as they're much more handy than any cheat codes you have to enter all the time...combo of two simple buttons like "Tab + Q" solves all the problems and you don't have to pause game all the time and its completely not distracting...unless you're console user... I however voted "Other". By other i mean as mandragon suggested, you enter the cheats in somehow through the Start menu, that way you can do it anywhere, and you're not getting run over by a car or shot at by cops when you're doing it. I'd like the cellphone, but I'd like to have it in the pause menu as well as in real time so I can pause and use a health cheat in case I'm under heavy fire. In the III-Era I can enter the cheats much faster (typing on keyboard) than through the cellphone. But the latter is also not bad, it gives you a Matrix-Style feeling. To unlock a cheat you can dial it in the phone, enter a button combination in-game if you want it to be activated quickly, or enter that same combination through the pause menu. Then upon doing that, you can activate it any way you choose. Say you want to spawn a jet, unlock the code using a dialed number or a button combo to just have it right there. Or you could enter the combination in the pause menu if you just want to save the cheat for later uses. Either way you'll get the best of both worlds, and accessibility and multiple ways to do things I think is key. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JaggySnake Posted October 9, 2012 Share Posted October 9, 2012 I want the cellphone method to stay. It's simple to use and also it stores cheats so you don't need to put them it in again. It really helps if your car is a wreck as all you need to do is take your phone out and go to cheats > health cheat instead of pressing loads of buttons that could possibly make the character do something you don't want to do (fire gun/exit car/smash window etc). Hey, if someone wants to use cheats, why not? its a game, so its meant to have fun. Thing i tried to tell is that i think it spoils the game, but each to their own. A little more productive thing to say instead of saying its bad or evil: Cheats should be able to be more easy to enter. Maybe make a little menu for example if you hold the 'select' button or so.
