TOMAHAWKS
http://www.rockstargames.com/V/img/global/...s/V-11-1280.jpg This looks a lot like the waterfall above Mexico/below America in Red Dead Redemption (one of the waterfalls). What do you think? If I had my Xbox right now I would have been able to tell you where exactly this waterfall is, but you know how it is... I Shot The Sheriff
It does, but that doesn't mean anything. Same engine and same modeling / texturing team, that's all IMO. If you think it's the same place, no, it isn't.

BlackNoise
It probably won't happen, but I would love to see some RDR Easter eggs in GTA V. The two series are very similar and they could definitely work within the same universe since they take place many generations apart. It would be pretty cool if a descendent of John Marston was living in the countryside. Maybe he could teach you the art of Dead Eye.

Eagle-Eye
but you know how it is... sh*t just got intense. aside from the waterfall, maybe there will be a library interior. probably in one of the bookshelves, one book you see there will be called "Tale of Marston" or something. cp1dell
I know what OP thinks it look similar to. He's talking about that river that divides West Elizabeth and New Austin, it's right by Beechers Hope and the MacFarlanes Ranch. You cross it in a mission when you are herding cattle. I know what you mean OP, it could be a modern area of the one we saw in RDR. It looks very similar but it isn't the same spot.

Now this is starting to sound like "Back to the Future" But I agree, easter eggs, like Marston Springs, or so on, would be excellent. Maybe there could be references to Jack Marston as a Texas oil rancher or something. On topic: Early on, after the GTAV Trailer, I wrote that I would be happy if Rockstar just took the RDR countryside as-is and added Los Santos and other modern towns to it. Maybe they did? I assume that at least the same modeling tools were used, as stated above.
Dick Justice
The only similarity between this and the waterfalls in RDR is that it is a waterfall.

TheQuestfor100Percent
I've also thought about what kind of Easter eggs they might include, being as they are both set in the same area of the country. I don't think there will be any direct connection between the two games, but seeing the Marston's gravestones, or copies of RDR on store shelves in game I don't think is out of the question. R* has been known to do things like that.
JaggySnake
Maybe a ruin of Beechers hope John Marstons House! That'd just make me sad. I couldn't go back there after John died. In Undead Nightmare I'd go back after a night of riding upon Death and just sit inside the barn thinking about my old life. ___ Anyway, I'd love to see some easter eggs in V. Not sure what they would be though. Edited October 9, 2012 by JaggySnake
MIKON8ERISBACK
I never played RDR, but I guess you could say that it might look similar. However RDR takes place in a desert, and that screenshot looks like something out of a lush forest in the interior of California.

I can't remember an exact place that looks like that location (the map is huge) but it wouldn't look out of place. Oh and do yourself a favour. Play Redemption! Best Rockstar game since San Andreas, in my opinion. It's a really beautiful game and the story is great. Really fun. I didn't buy it straight away because I was put off with the whole western style but I picked up and wish that I had done sooner.
K-Malo94
No. Both take place in the south-western part of America. That's why I believed it was an Easter egg. Oh yeah, that's a lot of justification

Oh yeah, that's a lot of justification Has anyone checked out the sky colours for a match? There's sky in the south west, also in Edinburgh (where R* are based), sky has clouds, cloud apps, apparitions, ghosts, legends, Bigfoot... OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!
