DeafMetal
Agreed. It was fine in Redemption, it fit the setting, but it would annoy me to death to have them be as aggressive in V. Also, Sasquatch or GTFO, forest.
Raynos
I want deer, running across the road in the country side. Thus, if I'm flying down the highway, doing 180mph in my Sentinel, I want a deer to run out infront it.. Sorta like Taxi's in GTA IV. All they have to do is replace Taxis with Deer. TOMAHAWKS
Well, I have to both agree with you there. The wild-life was very agressive. I was once trying to hunt a guy with a bounty on his head and just when I was going to lasso him, BAM. f*cking bear mauled the sh*t out of me. But also, I loved the agressive animals. It was truly fun, especially in the multiplayer. Red Dead hunting was awesome. The one thing I would change is the animal spwning. I don't think they should change that. There should be a little more to do, though. There are speculations that you can have a pet and GTA V. I wouldn't mind having an RDR-style cougar... I just think it'd be nice replacing those Taxi bodies with deer bodies. At least it'd make more sense as to why they keep getting in your path. Yeah, A deer would most certainly wreck your ride, but hey, its GTA. Hopefully car customizations allows you to install "Deer Bars" heck, a "Taxi Bar" would be handy too.. I just hate 'em taxis! saintsrow
i totally agree with the OP on this one; GTA is not RDR. It would be cool to see animals in the wilderness, but they dont need to appear every second and they better not be as agressive. ...would I like to see coyotes and cougars in GTA V? Yes; but if they are included, I dont want to have to deal with them every time I explore the desert and mountains. And I think R* is smart enought to know this and on the horses: i would be surprised if you weren't able to ride a horse around the city. If there are dogs, why the hell wouldn't there be cats and other mainstream animals. There are definitely going to be a few ranches with horses, and you can bet you'll be able to steal them I second the OP and this concurrent post. I too lived in fear in the RDR mountain forests -- you could not just get lost in the naturalness of it and just contemplate nature, or use it as a relaxing day-night-day screensaver. Before too long, you would be grizzly breakfast (dadummmm "DEAD") and there goes your forest experience. I don't want to be mauled by a bear, but I would still like to see a bear or a mountain lion on occasion. I hope that all the RDR animals are present in GTAV countryside, fields and foothills, perhaps just a little less dense, but probably about the same number of birds. Also, as others mentioned, the raccoons, opossums, skunks and coyotes are in the LA suburbs, tearing through your trash. PhantomRoxas101
Not to offend some people, but I don't really want animals in the game. While having a pet or a ride-able horse may be ok and tolerable, but no other animals really. I'll feel bad if I kill an animal, like a police K-9 or something. I also wish to explore in peace, and not get randomly attacked by something like a bear. Although if they implement it I'll be ok with it, but I don't want to have them in my opinion. rare.steak
You sir, have no spirit of adventure. This. Big_Mitch_Baker
I agree that the animals (agressive ones especially) should spawn less, but I don't think the predators should be less agressive. Its part of what makes GTA great, like in SA you'd be minding your own business and a plane crashes on you. sh*t happens and at first you feel ripped off but then you take in the random crazyness that just transpired and it's worth it to have your face ripped off by a bear and have your wilderness hike cut short... You can always go back. As for people that want horses, I doubt it'll happen. It's LA not Texas, and I'm not sure how Rage engine would render a horse being ploughed by a truck at 90 mph while your riding it down the freeway

MotjoBoss
I want animals but I don't want them to attack me constantly. In real life animals walk away from you too. In Yosimete I saw a big male bear from only 10 yards away. I was sh*tting my pants big time . He looked at me and walked away. Only if you walk up to it it can attack you, That's how it suppose to be.
Lewligan
I'm all for animals in V - the more, the merrier IMO. But ye, I don't want them attacking me constantly - would just start to do my head in. As long as they make the animal aggression realistic (which is basically not aggressive at all in most cases), then bring 'em on.
Mokrie Dela
People have to bear in mind that the animals in RDR fit the style of the game. The wild west was a very dangerous time - the wilderness was very dangerous and animal attacks were common. With the advent of civilisation (and more towns popping up), the animals lost their territory and kinda shied away from humans, so now they're tamer. GTA V won't have aggresive animals. i doubt we'll see many animals at all tbh, the style of the game is different and the focus will be taken off of survival as it was in RDR at times The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. kurvenflo
I reckon that there will be wildlife in GTA V that resemblences to the wildlife in RDR. I do, for the love of God, hope that the wilderness wont be crowded with animals ready to attack you. It was totally off-putting to walk around in places like Tall Trees in RDR simply because bears would spawn frequently and attack you on a regular basis. Being present in the forrest meant that you had to watch over your back all the time. Animals were simple over-aggressive, and while I realize why, it made the gameplay suffer - at least for me. I do not want to ride dirtbikes, investigate old cabins, or climb around in the mountains, and have this awfull experience again. Getting attacked by animals was cool a few times then it becomes very repetetive when you get attacked every minute., Ok, I get your point. To a certain extent I feel the same. In RDR you are guaranteed to be attacked by animals at night in certain areas. This could be annoying in a GTA. But I am sure that it would add to the game, if this would occur from time to time. As others stated, wild and dangerous animals are not that present anymore in the US. But they are still there. Making encounters with those threats more infrequent would make the countryside even more scary, because you don't know, if you're going to be attacked. HeNDo6750
I don't want animals in GTA, as it would ruin the fun of driving many miles listening to K-DST from San Andreas and evading the cops as long as possible or relaxing. Animals in GTA would ruin it big time. The whole point of GTA is to have fun evading the police whilst going over any terrain at speed with music playing in the background. Not to have animals running onto the road whilst escaping a gang or police and getting annoyed because you got killed by whoever is chasing you Edited October 9, 2012 by HeNDo6750

When talking about animals it doesnt matter if we 'need' them or not. They just need to be there to make the countryside look better and more realistic. If you want to talk about what we need in GTA, well, do we need lightpoles, houses, cops etc? No, but they are there because R* is trying to simulate the world outside. Don't exagerrate.. it's not like the animals would be replaced by humans or so. They would only appear in the forest and they would be very rare.. especially on places where you can drive. You wouldn't be distracted from them. Only if you are driving at night with no lights and on "forbidden" streets (like in a natural forest). But they shouldn't also overdo it with them. Hell, we might get only dogs (maybe also straydogs in the wild) and it's pretty possible. Oh, there are already animals in GTA IV. Pigeons and Seagulls.. Official General
in real life every animal that sees you doenst attack like in rdr Don't act like a dumb idiot. Every animal does not attack the player in Red Dead Redemption, I don't where you get that from. What game where you playing ? I could not have been RDR, because that simply does not happen. The animals that attack you in RDR are animals that can or will attack humans in real life. Grizzly bears, cougars, wolves, and snakes are the main animals that will definitely attack and kill you in RDR, just only 4 out of 25 animals. All 4 of these animals are potentially very dangerous are capable of attacking and killing humans, and in real life, fatal attacks on humans from them do happen indeed. Not very often of course, and in many cases quite rare, but it does happen, so I don't see what your problem is. You need to understand that RDR is just a game, it is not completely real life. The constant animal attacks just add to the danger, excitement and thrills of the gameplay experience.
Gtaplayaminigun
I agree with the OP. If their frequency is too high, it'll just feel like another gang territory which you'll avoid going into, most of the time. But like someone pointed out, the density of animal population should be a lot less as it's set in the present day.
AtomicPunk
It's not just wild animals, but there needs to be cows in the fields on farms, maybe a cat at a house or two, dogs---you get the point. I think it would be cool to be speeding down a country back road and a deer run out in front of you. That could could add some 'holy shiznit' moments. I've hit a few deer in real life and they can do some damage. I also clipped a big a$$ black bear once and it ripped the back bumper off my jeep. I was pissed. But anyways, I want as many animals as possible in V.
