Cyper
I reckon that there will be wildlife in GTA V that resemblences to the wildlife in RDR. I do, for the love of God, hope that the wilderness wont be crowded with animals ready to attack you. It was totally off-putting to walk around in places like Tall Trees in RDR simply because bears would spawn frequently and attack you on a regular basis. Being present in the forrest meant that you had to watch over your back all the time. Animals were simple over-aggressive, and while I realize why, it made the gameplay suffer - at least for me. I do not want to ride dirtbikes, investigate old cabins, or climb around in the mountains, and have this awfull experience again. Getting attacked by animals was cool a few times then it becomes very repetetive when you get attacked every minute.,
zakace
The animals in RDR's wilderness was great and wasn't off putting at all. Was fun to go hunting them down and made it feel like the wilderness wasn't just a dead place.

Duxfever
The reason they attacked in RDR I guess was to add an element of challenge when entering the wilderness, and a lot of Red Dead Redemption was based around survival. I think just depends what type of wildlife we'll be seeing. And I don't think we'll be seeing the likes of cougars or bobcats - maybe if there are zoos, but I'd think they'd be behind walls and in cages. In RDR you had every animal that you could hunt. Some hunted you and it added a challenge. So why not. Maybe in the desert they could have less animals than in a forest like tall trees. CodeFail
Animals are a must, but i can see how they could get annoying. Besides, i doubt a coyote could stand against a SPAZ-12.

HoboDealer
RDR was set in the late 18th/ early 19th century. Now I'm no ecologist, but I would imagine numbers of wild countryside animals in the US has dropped severely since then. Besides if R* were aiming for realism you would only get cougars and bears up in the high unpopulated areas, where they're not disturbed by humans and their disturbing technologies... If all else fails, use a rocket launcher.

It's not a matter of what they take in my point of view. Killing animals in RDR was never a problem. At least not for me. It as just annoying at certain times. Degrees
You be armed with a shotgun and a rocket launcher those animals shouldn't be much of a threat. Dirtbike with a machine gun unlike a horse with a pistol no way the wildlife should be any problem in GTA.

Death2Drugs
What? The San Andreas countryside was completely dead. Nothing to do. Nothing there. Adding animals to this new countryside would be a hell of an improvement.

AtomicPunk
I want all the animals indigenous to the area, including birds. FarCry 3 has hundreds of animals and I cannot wait 'til dec. to check out the sharks. Hopefully, the mountain lions aren't as aggresive as in RDR. I hated them damn things. JaggySnake
I loved the animals in Redemption. It would stupid not to add them in GTA V. They don't cause any trouble most of the time and when they do you just pull out a gun and shoot it. It makes the game feel more alive. Imagine peds diving out of the way, as you're chased by police... Picture the screenshot with the red car, but with a guy on a horse instead. They need to let us ride on horses. I want donkeys in the game too. They sucked in Redemption because they are too slow but I'd love to just ride a donkey through Los Santos while shooting and blowing up sh*t! The Gardener
There better be some sort of wild-life. Not like they'll be any challenge. Most guns nowadays would just blow away a wild griizzly bear dat haz appeared.
smokin427
i totally agree with the OP on this one; GTA is not RDR. It would be cool to see animals in the wilderness, but they dont need to appear every second and they better not be as agressive. ...would I like to see coyotes and cougars in GTA V? Yes; but if they are included, I dont want to have to deal with them every time I explore the desert and mountains. And I think R* is smart enought to know this and on the horses: i would be surprised if you weren't able to ride a horse around the city. If there are dogs, why the hell wouldn't there be cats and other mainstream animals. There are definitely going to be a few ranches with horses, and you can bet you'll be able to steal them Edited October 8, 2012 by smokin427
JaggySnake
Read the OP people. He is not saying there shouldn't be animals in V, he's saying they should be less agressive. They aren't really that aggressive. Bears and Wolves are but you just shoot them if they attack you. Honestly, I've never really been bothered by animals in all the time I've spent playing Redemption.

Cyper
If people could read my post properly. I am not suggesting that animals should be removed. What I am saying is that you should be able to be present in rural areas without being attacked every second. The problem is not to kill these animals, the problem is that frequent attack's becomes an immersion breaker.

As I said before, if you walked through 18th century American Mountains, you would no doubt encounter grizzlies, cougars and what not. Whereas today, animals are much more afraid of and disturbed by humans and their numbers are much less. You saw from the trailer those hikers were fine, just remember this is set in the 21st century. Official General
The reason they attacked in RDR I guess was to add an element of challenge when entering the wilderness, and a lot of Red Dead Redemption was based around survival. Exactly Red Dead Redemption's landscape and environment was mostly based on the wilderness, and in real-life you would have been very vulnerable to attack from dangerous animals such as cougars and bears in those areas. Just because you find it annoying it don't mean Rockstar should not have included it, it's an accurate portrayal of the real-life western U.S. wilderness and it's a great thing that Rockstar so successfully re-created it. If GTA V has a significant amount of countryside and wilderness, then there better be some form wildlife. It would be silly and unrealistic of it not too. I loved the countryside and wilderness in San Andreas, but I really did not like the fact that there was no form of animal life in them, they just felt empty - I liked the idea of fishes and marine life in the sea though. Whether the animals attack is another matter, but there should be wildlife for realism purposes at least. I think animal attacks would great, it just adds more to the challenge of the game. I'd love for sharks to attack in the sea.
