Deffpony
@Adriaan: if you get a reply pm me. I'm very interested in doing this and if there is a shot in hell I will bust my ass to make it happen
Hurrikane
This is a great idea for the community to come up with some questions, and see what we can come up with. Some of questions would be: Has this generation of hardware such as the PS3, Xbox360, presented a more than difficult transition or about what you expected for your games like GTA, RDR? What is the one things you are most proud about as a team in regards to GTAV? When building these open world games like GTAV, can you talk about how difficult it is to have everything working, and fluid at the same time? wwinterj
Good topic. I'm very much interested in this and it would put all the questions in one place with hopefully some answers. I'm just interested in a release date at the moment as I'm sure we all are and that won't get answered of course but it would still be interesting for other questions to get answered by R*. This is a big fansite so it may get a chance.
Deffpony
I'm thinking that we should just do it anyways. Get our questions figured out and then show rockstar the interest and push for a session of them answering our questions

73duster
I just don't see why they would put themselves in a position of looking worse than they already do, INFORMATION WISE that is. For example, let's say they DID allow us to ask a few questions. The ONLY questions they would answer are questions that are of the LEAST importance to us. I'm not speaking for everyone, but my GUESS is that these are the questions most fans are interested in: 1- When is the RELEASE DATE? 2- How big is the map? 3- Who is the protagonist? (i know it's SUPPOSED to be that older guy in the trailer, but MANY people aren't sure) 4- What do you MEAN by bold new direction? I'm sure there are many more questions, but honestly, THESE are the most discussed questions among GTA fans, and i GUARANTEE you that Rockstar CANNOT answer these specific questions. They have CLEARLY stated that they want to keep things low key so as to not spoil the game. I happen to agree with them, which leaves most fans with a huge question as to what is left to know. In the end, they would be RIGHT in not answering these specific questions, but would end up looking like the bad guys, so why would they even entertain this idea? Durden
This is a wonderful idea. I really do hope that R* would answer some questions from their biggest fans. Some questions I would consider asking: 1. A question regarding the release date. Maybe not something too demanding that may result in them saying "we don't know" but maybe a question like "which Fiscal Quarter do you expect GTAV out by" or, "ROUGHLY what month do you forsee GTAV releasing" 2. How does the map size varry to GTAIV's LC? How about GTA SA's map? 3. The movement on foot felt quite clunky in GTAIV, and I'm a stickler for parkour/free-running, and GTAIV made it very hard to role play free-running and such activities. Will I have better fortune in GTAV? 4. Cheat codes are what gave GTA SA the huge replay value that kept me playing for numerous hours after completing the story. Will there be lots of 'fun' cheats just like there was in SA (i.e. massive bunny hops, cars fly, peds have weapons, peds riot, etc...)? 5. What is the "Bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer"?

S1LV3R_W0LF
Are you serious? I know it sounds like a good idea but do you even think they will answer to anything that we want? Let's see, it is possible that a few magazines already offered a decent sum of money to get small tidbits with no lucky, so you think a community just because it's interested and a group of fans will get a special treatment? Not wanting to ruin your dream but I doubt that will work, specially for questions like when, how big, for what and such that are the questions we all want to see answered. mvega0422
Not sure, I just don't see it working out. They already know our questions, they simply don't want to answer them. Deffpony, you speak of being willing to 'bust your ass', but the only thing here that would require work is potentially visiting their offices. I'd be willing to visit the NYC office on behalf of GTAF, and I'm sure we could find someone willing to visit the Edinburg office, but that's about the only work that could possibly need done. As for Adriaan, I would assume you simply submitted this idea and other relevant information to the R* Mouth-Off, though you certainly make it seem like you have some type of "inside source" that other people didn't have access to - perhaps you should word it differently? I would love to see our questions answered just as much as anyone else, including every single question that has been asked here thus far, I just don't think R* will listen to us when they have yet to show any signs of listening to industry professionals/analysts, those on their own Newswire every single day, or members of other websites such as YouTube or Twitter. Other game developers look to their "biggest fans" for their feedback, support, and inspiration, but Rockstar has always done things somewhat differently: they listen to no one, and they attempt to please no one in particular. They are simply out to fulfill their vision in a way that makes the 10-20 million people that are purchasing the game happy. I could be wrong, but this is what their behavior has led me to believe. Edit: I'd be happy with either voting for the questions, or letting someone write the questions out for us (deffpony is not a bad choice) - it might be worth a shot, but I'm not optimistic about its chances of success. I Shot The Sheriff
You can't force them to answer questions. Even if we make it, they just can say "no" because it's just modifying the way they want the info to be released.
Deffpony
Let me make some things clear that seem to be getting confused. ******I by no means think we should formulate these questions now. They arent answering questions and the info they are providing has been maticuluosly thought out. These questions will be put together after the marketing campaign has started. This benefits us because by that time we will have alot of info and wont need to ask "Who's the protagonist" Not to mention it will probably raise other questions. ******What I mean by "bust my ass" is putting the effort necessary to make sure the questions best reflect the community. Im not going to make a poll with 10 question choices and let you guys vote. That would be you guys choosing my questions. These need to be OUR questions. And I want to hear every single question by every single member. I will bust my ass to catalog these questions, determine the ones that best reflect the community as a whole, and envoke the community to choose from the most popular questions trending. This can be done in a half ass way or it can be done in a very engaging way. I would like it to be engaging and Im willing to put as much effort as needed to make it happen. ******The questions we ask should probably be less about specific. Instead of asking "Will there be steak" we would be smart to ask "What takes the longest in terms of development, story, map, physics, etc" ******This topic isnt for the questions. I like your guys enthusiam but this topic is just to logistically figure out how we could get the questions presented to Rockstar

TOMAHAWKS
I would simply ask questions about the games features, but not too many because I still want to be surprised. The thing I would ask them first is if we can pull off in-dept robberies in GTA V, like a bank heist or stealing a load of sh*t that's worth big money. Gtaghost22
The best we could get would be to create a thread where we all post our questions, and then Rockstar would select a number of questions they want to answer from that thread and then answer them. Exactly. I don't have much to add, but i don't really think Rockstar will agree to do an interview with us anytime soon, not before GTA V gets released at least. Finn 7 five 11
Im not sure what your getting at with the whole US thing. I feel that we would need to be very slick with any questions regarding marketing since there is a great chance that they would ignore those all together if its too accusational. Yeah we have to be careful what we ask/how we ask it, there is a reason the media asks open ended questions, it's so they get answered, when the questions are too accusational they will simply not answer the question/not take interviews with those people again. Here's how i think it should go. When the time is right we will compile a bunch of questions, then we will have to filter out the accusational ones/irrelevant ones, and then we will have to hold a vote on which questions people want answered. I already have a couple decent questions thought up, so make it obvious when we start this thing.

The more specific of a question one asks, the lower the chance that R* would answer it. To anyone that criticizes the idea - whether or not R* would answer the questions, it would at least be a bit more positive than most things around here. Maybe it could give the forums a chance to move in a more positive direction as well.... I'd be down to help in any way.

AirWolf856
Since I doubt R* will answer any questions except through their official channels, maybe we should start a cupcake drive to raise money to send R* 1,000 cupcakes with letter V carved in icing on the cupcakes. It would let them know we still love them and that we want information about GTA V.

But I think that we can make it work a bit better. What Im thinking is that we figure out what questions we want to ask in house. Then we present these questions to rockstar and let them choose how they would like to answer them. They can either post them as a special GTAforums QA on the news wire or they can actually come here and answer them within the forums
