T40 Posted October 8, 2012 Share Posted October 8, 2012 So while looking around at GTA5 stuff the last week, I've noticed that the GTA5 site has been getting quite a lot of code updates recently. There has been one everyday for the past week. Before, they only occurred once every few weeks, and sometimes much longer. Anybody know what they have been changing/updating? The last one as of making this post was about 30 minutes ago. (i'm looking at the widget at the bottom of the page on http://www.rockstarinformer.com/ which scans for updates every 5 minutes) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I wasn't concerned about info, I want to know what's changed in the code. See those little counters that appear above the screenshots? They are for Facebook and Twitter and see those numbers? They are in the HTML code. That bullsh*t widget scans the website for changes in HTML CODE. So, basically, every time those counters update to show the latest amount of tweets/likes it will set off the widget because it has to change the HTML. It does work in a way because it will alert you when Rockstar change the website but it's just gonna keep going off every time some idiot likes/tweets about GTA V. Maybe the people who coded this widget took the facebook counters into account? You know nothing, the widget code is not public and you have no idea how it works. It could even be some automated script thing that they use in their website, not even related to games, just web development.
