TheGodDamnMaster
After many months of anger and depression, I finally decided to leave McDonalds. It's a long story, so here are the main points. -Started in April -Fat bitch manager who gets on my case (and everyone else) for the smallest sh*t. -I was reduced to errand boy for whatever reason, doing everyone favors. -Also had to do lobby (cleaning everything and mopping in the dining area) almost everyday. -Bitch manager would always spit out the line "You're not new here, you're old." every time I made a mistake. -All of the time I had been there, my anger was growing to dangerous levels. -I became very passive-aggressive at anyone who pissed me off in the slightest. -Another bitch named Tyrah always being a jerk for no reason at all. -For the first few weeks she would just shove and push me aside to get by me. -Started to get to me a few weeks ago, told her to knock it off and called her a bitch. -Between the errand boy sh*t, the bitch manager, and Tyrah, I decided to talk to the store manager who hired me. -Told her I was quitting. -She asked me to stay, and agreed to talk to the bitch manager and Tyrah. -Tyrah called me a snitch and a fa**ot all day today, really getting on my f*cking nerves. -Called her a bitch and bitch manager said to stop with the name calling. -Later on my break, I was talking to my mom, which I always do on break, and decided to tell her about the girl. -She told me to give it right back to here and to call here a dike. -Tyrah overhears my mom and goes to tell everyone I'm a momma's boy. -"I've f*cking had it with this horsesh*t" -Start shouting f*ck you at her and called her a dike. -Ironically, she snitches to the bitch manager. -Bitch manager says to clock out and go home. -I tell her I quit and leave. Now, I have another job at Cracker Barrel, so it's not like I'm going to have to be doing anymore applications or interviews anytime soon. When I get home I feel like absolute sh*t. Having an outburst like that was completely out-of-character for me. I was just so f*cking tired of putting up with all of the nonsense there. What do you guys think about the situation? EscoLehGo
How old are you? The older I get the harder it's for me to tolerate dismal working environments and I think I should stay away from customer service jobs all together lest I end up getting charged with assault. I say good for you, f*ck those people and f*ck that job, if it was affecting you negatively emotionally to the point you weren't yourself then it's good that you decided to walk. Finn 7 five 11
Never ever worked at Mcdonalds, i never will either. 1. Working for franchises suck, i think working for an individual is so much better. 2. All i ever hear from friends who have/do work there is that there are sh*tty incompetent managers who expect way too much. 3. No please/thankyou's. 4. Pay is absolutely terrible, hours suck as well. 5. Maccas can be busy as f*ck, looking from outside in i can tell that it's stressful. You should be happy you quit, maccas is f*cking bullsh*t. @EscoLeHGo i am in the same boat as you, but for some reason i have a good mindset about work, i'll take the sh*t so long as i am earning the money i want. I hear you, I have a sh*tty job right now that I'm over qualified for but it pays decent and the hours aren't too bad so the sh*ttyness is tolerable. It's when the money doesn't match the sh*t I'm taking that I have to develop an exit strategy and I highly doubt the sh*t this kid was taking was being made up for in his Mickey D's paycheck. GTA_stu
Good for you, sounds like it was a nightmare. And "Maccas" wtf is that. Man you Aussies and your weird sayings. We just call it McDonald's, or Maccie D's. I have a friend who worked in one and he said he hated it, everyone there got treated like sh*t and basically it was just hell. He survived like 4 weeks before he quit.

We just call it McDonald's, or Maccie D's. If you say "Mcdonalds" here, you are either an old man, or a weirdo, nobody says "Mcdonalds", pretty sure even the advertisements sometimes refer to the place as maccas. That's our slang, people and places are often referred to with "ies" "as" or "o's", the "O's are more for country/bogans. For example, My mates last name is Clarke, we call him Clarky and if we goes to his house, we are going to Clarkies. Another mates last name is Jamieson, heaps of people call him "Jamo", i could go on but i feel i am rambling. Also Stu, wtf is Maccie D? I hear you, I have a sh*tty job right now that I'm over qualified for but it pays decent and the hours aren't too bad so the sh*ttyness is tolerable. Can't really add to this except by saying: I agree haha.
Dragonjack
It looks like that you really need a better job dude and you should have picked a better job in the first place in my opinion. But that depends on what is best for you and be sure to check on the people weather or not if they are good? or bad at there Management etc.
grope_4_that_date
After many months of anger and depression, I finally decided to leave McDonalds. Okay so, to be completely honest, I think you handlled your situation completely wrong. Hating your job is fine and normal, but yelling at your employees and using vulgar language like that is unprofessional and rude. You should have controlled your anger or talked to your boss before things started getting out of hand. I can't image McDonalds being a pleasant workplace - but leave with honor, man. Your future bosses might contact your old ones and ask how well you performed. You don't want them knowing that.

Ex Hellraiser
I too, have a sh*tty job (literally). I clean up other people's dog sh*t. I hate the job. Mostly because it is a responsibility thing. Most of the customers are rich people. They want a dog, but don't want the responsibility (i.e. cleaning up after it) so they pay us to pick up after it... I hate the presence that comes with it. Little kids staring at me as I walk someones front yard. Walking into someones backyard, people thinking I am breaking into their house... People comparing the job to dirt... It sucks. It was my parents' business, but I pretty much do the lot of it now. The only reason I put up with the crap (no pun intended) is the pay. Customers pay somewhere between $35-55 a month. I come to their house once a week, clean for ~15 minutes, and leave the sh*t for them to throw out. 4 weeks in a month (4 pickups) + 15 minutes per pickup = $35-50 for an hour of work. the business isn't very big anymore, we only have about 15 customers now, (my parents held it at almost 200 a few years ago), but that equates to 15 hours of work a month. Not very demanding. 15*$35=$525 And some customers pay $50, not $35, so that number is closer to $650. $650 for 15 hours of work. Not too shabby. The main expense is the gas needed to go between customers' houses. $30 a week for gas, $120 a month. $650-120=$530 after expenses. Seems like the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, I would not work at Mickey D's. My parents call it job experience, I call it sh*t. Having to deal with the sh*t of my job, actually dealing with sh*t, but with sh*t pay to boot. Not going to happen... I deal enough in customer service as it is, the difference is, I deal with the same customers all the time. No big surprises, no crazy boss (other than my mom, but most of us have those...), no pay cuts, no coworkers to deal with. My job is worth dealing with the way it is. I hate it, but it is a moneymaker...

Oddsock
Good luck bud, I would seriously advise college or some kind of vocational school. I hope you can afford it. I recently had to quit my job in a less-than-friendly fashion, but needless to say it wasn't on par with your exit. I had given my two weeks notice at my last place of employment, but one night I wasn't able to work so I sent warning in advance asking for a sub, then the day of the shift I called to find out if my shift had been taken. I had no idea but the day after I went in for work and the supervisor started working me over about why I didn't tell anyone I wasn't gonna work the shift. I hadn't said so in my email but I thought it was implied. I told him that but he was a jerk about it anyway, treating me like I purposefully tried to spite them. So I get to work and he says our coordinator (boss man) will wanna speak with me so I get ready for that, but the coordinator never calls me back to the office (I was on patrol). Instead, he talks with the sup and goes home, leaving a message that I gotta come in the next day to talk to him. Email isn't enough, phone isn't enough, I gotta drive 25 f*cking miles to work just so he can bitch me out and then 25 miles back. Keep in mind that I've already gotten officially reprimanded. I decide that I'm not gonna deal with that sh*t, so I tell him as gracefully as I can that I quit. Later when I'm turning in my uniform and ID badge and stuff I cross him and tell him there was no hard feelings meant and we get to talking. I try to reason with him but it's not much getting through, he's so stuck to thinking that I was trying to be flippant and spiteful the whole time. Worst of all was when I asked him why he felt it necessary to drag me down on a day off and he said, "well you inconvenienced us, so we decided we should inconvenience you," as if my workplace was some kind of passive-aggressive ex-girlfriend. Bitches.
