do you really enjoy the 'countryside'?

Yesterday, I thought about how the countryside would be in GTA V and here is what I want to see. (some are details but pretty nice if you ask me) smile.gif

-How more distance there is with a city/village, the less street light there will be.

Imagen: You are driving at night away from Los Santos. First, no more street lights; only Cat's eye on the side of the road. And when you are miles away from Los Santos, only moonlight and light from other cars.

-Less cars on unimportant roads:

A highway full of cars is ok, but I don't want to see traffic in a old dirtroad in the middle of the forest. Maybe 1-3 tractors/jeeps.

-Speedcontrols:

Just like in real life, people start accelerating when they leave the city.

I would love to see some speedcontrols (1-2 times a week)

-fuel stations and restaurants:

Every 5 miles one so it would look totally abandoned.

As I said: not very important things, but I would love to see things like this while driving trought the countryside smile.gif

No GOAT Greatest of all time.

That might be a little too hopeful. Besides, we already have Lemmings.

The option for a change of pace and scenery should not be underestimated in terms of breaking monotony, part of IV's problem (only a small part, iv had problems all over the place) was that everywhere and everything was the same, and after the amount of choice and differnce of San An, IV was just found lacking.

Ask RDR fans (of which there are millions) and they will tell you that one of the reasons they liked it so much was the countryside setting. Give us a camping option in V just like red dead, and that would be pretty damn close to perfect.

seriously, i really think it was a dumb decision that R*'s taken putting this 'countryside' huge area, instead of a more populated one.

i really don't get the point of running around rural non-populated areas, between trees and lakes, and it seems we'll have a lot of it on V, as we had back on SA but this time just ONE metropolitan city.

so, do u guys enjoy it or would prefer another city instead? do u guys think R*'s made a mistake putting it so relevant?

It's for off-roading and exploring purposes. If you haven't noticed, thousands of people were trying to off-road on a 12 ft. beach in a city. IN A CITY. In Gta4.

I love the countryside, makes it more mysterious, I hope the countryside will be worthy for bigfoot hunting, or looking for ghost cars hehe

I hope that there is a huge jump in the countryside. It jumps from one cliff to the next with a chasm separating the two. I think that GTA 4 really lacked a lot of driveable altitude. There might've been one or two cliffs in the whole map.

Sometimes the city just gets overwhelming and annoying, even in a free roam game such as GTA. It'll be nice to just say "f*ck all these cars and buildings" then fly a stolen Hydra into the sunset.

Another one of the 50million damn things I love about the countryside is the driving. In IV, you barely got to tes your cars on the open road that much. In V, yeah the city highways are wider, but in the country, I can guarantee you traffic will be much lower. So on open roads it will be pure fun to drive, not having to worry about hitting some idiots or whatnot.

I just cannot wait to get my Banshee and take it onto a country road and do an epic drive like the kinds MotorTrend upload onto YouTube.

Yeah, something like this from RDR. I'd like some dangerous jumps too. If you don't hit it just right, you die!

I loved the countryside on San Andreas. It was great just to drive through listening to K-Rose or get a big cop chase so I'm hoping the countryside in V doesn't disappoint. I like open land in games and it's good to explore when you not aware of the area.

Also riding a Sanchez on dirt roads will be awesome!

Red Dead Redemption.

/thread.

Seriously? Of course we do mate, or at least i do, gets kinda boring causing havoc all the time in the city, i didn't mind that in IV because Liberty City was very detailed and was actually fun to explore unlike what people say, but it's annoying in other games.

Remember in San Andreas the jump across that massive chasm? Which featured the infamous video with the guy on the quadbike just getting to the top of the jump only to have a plane hit him? I bookmarked it since it was removed from Youtube, funniest thing ever.

Edit: Found it again on Youtube, i would recommend watching it, absolutely hilarious.

There was also Mount Chiliad and for flying jets there were those funny shaped Mesa's and stuff to fly through, that was fun as hell.

Funny thing today this thread inspired me to go play San Andreas all day (I am pretty sick sad.gif ) and i went to Angel Pine and Mount Chiliad and dicked around for hours doing stupid sh*t, so much fun.

Don't underestimate the countryside.

The countryside is one of the best aspects, you feel like your exploring.

Off roading and doing stupid jumps with no traffic/peds to spoil your fun is awesome.

Im assuming you didnt play GTA SA when it released? The feeling you got as an GTA oldtimer, walking into some creepy woods for the first time is hard to explain if not. If you can, get GTA SA, play through it and if you still feel the same about the country side then there is something wrong lol.

Must also reconmend giving RDR a try - I thought, ergh a game in the wild west with horses and no cars why would anyone play that.

Then I bought it 2nd hand, it truly is an amazing game & environment, ig GTA V captures the same atmosphere & feel as SA/RDR then it really will be one of the best GTA's of all time and knock SA off my best ever GTA podium.

I have to ask, but why do people twist it around like the "lack" of countryside in GTA IV was such a surprise? When you played the game did you say "I can't believe there's no countryside" when R* made it clear they wanted to give NYC justice and where has countryside and NYC ever gone hand in hand?

Simply if pepple liked it in SA they should had never bought GTA IV. That's why it's never made sense to me when people whine about being stuck in a city. They knew GTA IV was going to be an urban environment. In GTA V's case if it was just LS that would be understandable as countryside is more relevant to the Californian setting than it is to NYC.

Countryside was one of my favourite things about GTA SA, I can't imagine it with those graphics, it will be amazing.

lol I know right. Technically I knew nothing about IV before playing, yet I still didn't care there was no countryside.
