Kifflom112
Can someone go in the GTA IV forum and reply on the topic, "Guess The Mission" saying Rigged to Blow. I don't want to be the guy waiting for answers and I can't pass. Someone please help me. Hahaha.
urbanfire
Clearly OP has never played games like Skyrim, RDR or Far Cry. There's plenty to do in countryside, but only if devs put the effort into it. And if RDR is anything to judge by, GTAV is a step in the right direction. 36Chambers
Red Dead was ALL (nearly) countryside and wow there was A LOT to do in that game. Now imagine having an Infurnus in the countryside... I always imagined what would happen if I had a fast car in Red Dead, it'd be chaos but very fun. Also, as many people have pointed out, there needs to be somewhere else to go other than Los Santos in the game, GTA IV was all city and that got dull really quick. I'm sure the city will be enough to exceed all of our expectations, and the countryside will be unlike anything we've seen before.

Pyrrhic
You're right OP. How dare they add diversity. Nothing but concrete jungles for me baby!Sarcasm/ I think you mean /sarcasm. OT: yes I'm sure that the countryside will be very boring that's why everyone liked Red Dead Redemption, because the countryside was boring. Seriously people, Rockstar aren't going to include a countryside if it's dead and there's nothing to do. They're not that stupid. There's no doubt you will be able to do more than just drive/ride/run around.
rampage08
seriously, i really think it was a dumb decision that R*'s taken putting this 'countryside' huge area, instead of a more populated one. i really don't get the point of running around rural non-populated areas, between trees and lakes, and it seems we'll have a lot of it on V, as we had back on SA but this time just ONE metropolitan city. so, do u guys enjoy it or would prefer another city instead? do u guys think R*'s made a mistake putting it so relevant? You can run around the countryside if you like, imma be driving off roaders, scramblers and even sports cars all around the countryside. I wanna recreate a scene from the movie "Haywire" involving a Subaru Impreza and a deer. Evo X not an impreza. Yeah i honestly cant wait to explore the countryside, hopefully the feel of the place can make us relax when we're not on a mission.
Algonquin Assassin
I really don't think RDR is the best example. It was essential to have a living, breathing world in that because it portrayed the dying West so it had to show the best rural environment it could. Anyway I'm sure the countryside will be good, but they better not sacrifice all that wonderful city feel from GTA IV to accomodate it. Hopefully there'll be a good balance between the two. Darrel
All city does become a bit boring. You need a balance. I for one cannot wait to spend time in the wilderness, and then head back to the city when i want a bit more action.
JaggySnake
How many people have actually played Red Dead Redemption? I loved it and I can't wait to explore the countryside in GTA V if it's anything like Redemption. Honestly, if you haven't played it yet. GO BUY IT RIGHT NOW. kj2022
OP, the countryside is essential in V. lets just put your point in, you wanted another city, but how could you get there without the countryside? and don't start with the desert is different to countryside, the only differences is the temperature and lack of grass. mdr279
Ahhhhh what the heck? That's half the reason why San Andreas was so popular. Cruising around the country getting air on hills in a cheetah or hotknife.... Oh yeah
thebestgameever
driving off-road in the countryside would make driving so much better( prefer it over city driving, in SA i spent 70% of the time in vehicles in the non city areas, like the desert, countryside, if V does not have a good sized countryside/ non city environment i would be very disappointed. A city just looks so boring, grey and is full of traffic and there is nothing that looks awesome, you feel trapped and cannot have real fun in a car ( which is why the Airport was so popular online for IV) Having the open road with nothing but vegetation around you would be so much more fun, in all types of vehicles. Obviously i would till want a large city, just dont want there to only be a city.... Nice to see mainly everyone disagrees with the OP.
Official General
Look at GTA IV... its all city... and there's nothing to do Exactly There is a lot of truth in this. There were some things to do, but nowhere near as much as there should have been, considering how big Liberty City in GTA IV was. It's also completely stupid to ask for another city without having some form of countryside and wilderness to separate the different cities. kurvenflo
Well I am looking forward for the countryside in V. Always missed that in IV. For example: imagine returning from a long long mission in the desert back home to the city. You cruise down PCH in your convertible while the sun sets. And then you begin to see the lights of the city. Man... Or you drive the way through the canyons by night and after you passed numerous turns in the complete darkness only illuminated by your headlamps you eventually recognize the sea of lights beneath you. But besides this it can add so much more to the game. The wildlife in RDR was quite scary at times. Especially at night and when there were dangerous animals around. I would love that for V. There are so many possibilities that R* could implement into it. We'll see.

timezone34
GTA IV never made me feel it was small. I played SA way back, and still prefer urban over rural. I mean, there are more peds in the city. More peds=More rampage Anyway, this is just my opinion.

Freezer89
If there weren't any countryside I would be less excited for GTA V.. this "feature" was one of my favorites in GTA San Andreas. "Nothing to do".. seriously? Did you even saw the screenshots from August? Parachute and Bike race on mountains? Looks like nothing to do.. I don´t think Rockstar Games make any mistakes, the countryside and surrounding hills is just a change in the GTA series, San Andreas also had that but in the old graphics, now we´ve the new system like IV had, so R* wants to take it back what San Andreas had and IV didn´t. That´s why I think Vice City will return some day, because beaches and the blue sky is also nice...

Snake Without a Tongue
I too loved the countryside. I never played MTA SA so I can only imagine how cool multiplayer in the countryside would be.
