peanutbutterlover
seriously, i really think it was a dumb decision that R*'s taken putting this 'countryside' huge area, instead of a more populated one. i really don't get the point of running around rural non-populated areas, between trees and lakes, and it seems we'll have a lot of it on V, as we had back on SA but this time just ONE metropolitan city. so, do u guys enjoy it or would prefer another city instead? do u guys think R*'s made a mistake putting it so relevant? CodeFail
To be honest, i think the wilderness is just mostly a big show off. Missions there would be cool though.
GhostFase64
Your judging the countryside, yet you've never seen it? It'll most likley be great anyway, plus people kept complaining that IV was dull and boring because of a small area, so lets see where this takes us. Degrees
Of course when the city life gets too much there is always the countryside to relax. Besides I be really p*ssed if there were no animals.
Delanto
A balance of city and county makes for a great environment. Not to mention, we already know we can do stuff out in the county, like dirt biking or walking your doggie.
HoboDealer
A dumb decision? I beg to differ, the countryside was my favourite part of San Andreas! Open roads, great scenery, offroading, more freedom... how can you go wrong?!
MosquitoSmasher
Hell yes! I can't wait to take my bicycle up to that mountain area and just ride around and chill, gonna be great. And if Rockstar puts some nice detail and animals in it, it's going to be great. And yeah, hopefully they will have missions in that location as well. bowling...?
If there are animals it would be much more fun but without all you could do is ride a Sanchez or drive a speedophile off a waterfall. I want some mountain lions in this game though.
Raynos
Lol without the country side, there would be no contrast to the city life. I think the Countey Side is highly important, it adds diversity to the map as a whole. I also find the country side quite fun, in SA, I'd explore it with my police rancher, just driving and enjoying the road, the freedom! Edit. Obviously for the country side to work, you do need the city I.e I can't imagine gta v being much fun it all it had was Country side.

Toniblue
I loved the country side and just look at red dead yeah it wont be the same but if r* can pull it off with an entire game… ill think we'll be okay with it included

Dragonjack
I enjoy the countryside more often in Grand Theft Auto San andreas actually and its quite fun to do rampages, exploring the place and killing some cops as well in the countryside. It would be really awesome to see something "Big" in Grand Theft Auto V.

You can run around the countryside if you like, imma be driving off roaders, scramblers and even sports cars all around the countryside. I wanna recreate a scene from the movie "Haywire" involving a Subaru Impreza and a deer.

It's fun just watching them. I actually noticed different personalities in some (don't knowmifmit was in my mind or it was how the game was) of the bears. One was less aggressive and I went out after killing the other two but he attacked me.
lll-H-I-M-lll
i can't wait to hit the country side in a futo or sanchez i hope the sultan rs and blista are included in V for this as well Edited October 7, 2012 by harbujahn the great
73duster
OP, play San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption. If you don't like the open country then, you might not be right for open world sandbox games in general. GTAIV was proof that countryside environments are important in games where the map is the hero. A map with no countryside becomes bland, because there isn't any contrast. The lack of a countryside environment is what helped make GTAIV feel so cramped and small. It is why San Andreas felt so large and interesting. Degrees
Oh btw I prefered the whole countryside of RDR then the whole city of IV. But by just mixing them two together you got a GOAT in your hands. Edited October 8, 2012 by Degrees
I Shot The Sheriff
Besides I be really p*ssed if there were no animals. You're talking about an expectation standard that I really like. Rockstar just has to do it in order to really amaze us and make GTA V stand out. Otherwise it'd be like paying $100k for a Mercedes that doesn't have electric adjusting seats. peanutbutterlover
just pointing it out: instead of rural environment, i'd suggest DESERT. there's a lot of easter eggs and all this mystery crap that are miles more funnier than the countryside itself. desert with a military base. Desert would be ok but you can't have LOTS a sand with out having sand dunes an at this point in time the physics involved in that reach beyond current console limits. Out of curiosity where do you live ? I'm thinking you're problem might be that you cannot relate to this in game situation.

LOT more funnier than go to the countryside watch a ghost car and abandoned farms.

Kifflom112
Um, okay... I guarantee that like 90-95% of V's map is still under-wraps, yet you think it's dumb. I prefer both. While I love the hustle and bustle of the city, driving around in a top down Audi R8 on curvy roads with nothing but trees interest me. To be honest, it's beyond dumb to me that anyone would have a problem with R*'s decision on countryside and with countryside itself. You've played IV, you know what happened. Captain VXR
Well we need a very large map for the fighter jet(s), so it doesn't take just 30 seconds to cross side to side. I wanna just be able to trash vehicles along dirt tracks, redneck style!
