GTA IV vs. EFLC in terms of modding

I've been absent from the whole GTA-IV modding thing for quite some while but now I'm considering playing again and probably modding the game as much as possible.

 

So I was wondering... Which one of the games are best for that? All the various scripts and whatnot, made for this game - do they go along with EFLC too? I wouldn't mind playing EFLC rather than the regular GTAIV because EFLC has the APC, Buzzard and the explosive shotgun + the m249 which I remember having a lot of fun with. I assume those things cannot be modded into GTAIV.

 

But if GTA IV is best for the mods (and has the most mods) then that might be a better experience? What do you think?

The big difference is support of ENB (graphics enhancement) and script mods. Car mods, weapon mods, player/ped mods, trainer and sound mods will almost all work with either IV or EFLC.

 

In certain cases EFLC offers better support, for instance tank mods in EFLC would obviously be much better as they replace the APC. Parachutes would be another, however there's also ways to mod all this into IV (albeit quite buggy in my experience).

 

There's more ENB mods for GTA IV patch 1070 and 1040. There's still a few good choices for ENB in EFLC however. 1070 is best for scripts, in EFLC I found maybe 1/3 scripts won't work. I'm not sure how 1040 patch handles scripts but probably poorly for any new ones.
