Versous
I should say, that I wouldn't like to be a game tester for GTA V myself. It's not about enjoying the game, it's about doing your job and getting spoiled at the same time. So there's no way that i'd like to switch places with them I remember that I read, that Rockstar wouldn't hire gametesters for GTA V a while ago. I can't recall if it was a rumour or a report.Whatever, I simply don't believe it. Why in the world wouldn't you want to test your game as a developer ? thebig
The main reason would be: not getting any leaks. Though it seems impossible to me not to have game testers. Maybe the developpers are amusing themselves right now testing the game?
Ash_735
They have In-House Testers and an entire studio (Lincoln) based around Testing, hell, I've even spoken to a tester at Rockstar London (no we couldn't talk about GTA V) and she let me know about some upcoming stuff, including the max Payne 3 DLC she had just finished testing, it was then a few days later the News Wire post went up about the new DLC, which made me smile. JeteaFive
That seems weird because it's Rockstar Vancouver who done 80% of the work for Max Payne 3. One year to test a game, i know GTA V is really huge, but common ONE YEAR.

.dre.
When I imagine Rockstar game testers I imagine them in a cold dark room with just enough food, water, and supplies to keep testing the game until it comes out. Because how the hell it isn't leaked by now is amazing. I wonder how they pick people and why these people wouldn't drop some hints by now. He also thinks it makes his opinion/posts seem more important when quite a few times I find myself just skipping those posts. Sorry for going off topic but walls of text are not my bag baby. He's right what he posted here though. I'm quite sure R* already have game testers working on V.
JaggySnake
Rockstar NORTH do have game testers. They advertised for them back in January and it was for GTA V. I remember that I was going to apply for it but I decided not to. It would mean less money and it would ruin the game for me. The position was for a 12 month contract, so, they will finish up around February/March I think assuming it took them a month or two to hire everyone they needed. Versous
http://www.igta5.com/rockstar-north-curren...ng-game-testers Ah, I think I remember what it was now. It was like a statement from Rockstar. It said, that they wouldn't hire gametesters for GTA V or something like that but I'm not sure. But they have their own testers so it's going to be tested anyway, just not by independent people.
I Shot The Sheriff
Exactly. You get to play the game early, but it's not finished, you see massive amount of spoilers, and you can only play for the sake of testing and not on your own. So as a gamer it'd suck because it ruins your experience, but as a computer coding freak it would't be so bad. As I see it, it's literally impossible that they don't have testers now, because testing is not only done at the end of the development but during all the process. FYI my signature is just sarcastic. I think that's more than obvious. This and I just post my opinion or facts so I don't know how you come to the conclusion that I made it for attention. You probably don't know how often I skip posts from you because I often already know from reading the first sentence that you try to bash me. Oh, well, just another day here on GTAForums. @I Shot The Sheriff: Yeah, game-testing is a hell-job. Yeah, you can play the game before the release but you play the same goddman mission 100 times just to find a few bugs/glitches. I think game-testing even let you make hate the game and it's far from being funny. On the other site if you want to work in a specific company and you're suitable for it then being a game-tester for a game from this specific company you want to work for, makes the probability that you'll get a chance to work there higher. infiniteammo
I can't imagine anything worse job for a gamer than being a game tester, handed an out of context mission that has been locked down, and told to do the mission in "imaginative and outlandish ways" trying to break it, or glitch out the game, hundreds of times per day. For a long time in Red Dead Redemption online, you could jump on a potted plant in that Mexican leader's palace near the dining table, run towards the wall, and you'd fall through the floor and be able to see/shoot out, but no one could see/shoot in, and I'm sure whoever's job was to playtest that area never got hired by Rockstar Games again, lol that's generally what most people do when they start to play multiplayer games... "Hey if you stand here you start to sink through the bottom of the map!" if to only see themselves freefall through blue/white space, but especially if it puts them into a realm outside of the game map where you can blast away at people but they can't locate/attack you. Plus to everyone else it kind of looked like you were Mario going down into a flower tube. >.> But I digress, whoever had that area as their testing zone failed miserably. Or Rockstar gave them a huge area to cover and they probably hopped/rolled/fired every gun/died/went through all menus/ while crouching/jumping/running/walking in every corner of the room, but they didn't do it while pointed in the right direction. Which at the end of the day is a failure, because I personally was killed by quite a few people doing that, and after I learned how, would become wanted, do that for hours with lots of folks trying to claim bounty. But then Red Dead Redemption also had the first what, two or three days with the whole map glitching out online, we'd turn invisible at times when on horseback, and if someone crouched in the game everyone turned invisible. lol fun times. >.> But annoying at the time. Oh and the stagecoaches would bounce, and then hop, then shoot off into space, at random, sometimes dropping people and horses from sub orbital positions, never expected to be killed by horses HALO jumping from orbit, but that did indeed happen! ^.^
