Look at Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar always takes a long time when they're building the most epic game (excluding L.A Noire).

The point I'm trying to make is, no matter how long the development process of a video-game, movie or even a book is it doesn't determine how good or bad it's going to be. Yes I believe more development will mean they have more time to work off and polish their games, and yes development process is an essential and vital part of any video game, and using as much time as possible is nice and all but that still doesn't mean the game's going to be an epic masterpiece. Yeah, but when R* takes a long time to make a game they use that time to make the game the best they can for the player.
Fresh-Prince
It's a massive game with a ton of detail and a large map, it makes sense that it will take a while to complete.

The case with GTA V is different. A GTA game has never taken this long before so these discussions are natural. They usually come out a year or two after each other. But my point is that each time a new GTA is release, it's better than the last one. In fact, that's how it has been for every series of Rockstar. And the longer they take on this, the better. That way they can add as many new features as possible. I didn't mean that waiting longer makes ANYTHING better. But it's like Assassin's Creed 2. After it was confirmed, I was upset with the wait. But when I got it and saw how much better it was, I now enjoy waiting for video games. sorry the post took so long...
