un94
Yeah, disk space might be a great issue. Maybe the state would easily fit on a Blu-Ray or Wii-U-Disk, but the 360-Disks may hold it back. I just wanted to say that GTA V would be the best opportunity to include the whole state just because I think after V we won't get a GTA in that region for a very, very long time. Vice City may be the next map, after that we could get a completely new location. And yes I agree, one great city with much life and detail is better than three watered down cities. But I would just love to see the whole state in V (Los Santos biggest, LV and SF smaller and a few towns).
Choco Taco
Admit it, the cities in SA felt watered down. Watered down doesn't mean small. A large city is more likely to be watered down than a small one. Also, I didn't think the cities in SA were too small. I felt Liberty City was too much of the same thing. There are areas in that game I don't even go to because they're just like other areas. Having just a big Los Santos would mean large areas of suburban sprawl. I'd rather a few smaller cities. There would be more variety instead of large areas that feel the same like Liberty City.

All that matters is a re-imagined Southern California can include SF and LV, and if they are in the game, none of Rockstar's statements will have been a lie. peanutbutterlover
it would be so repetitive if they put out another GTA with the same environment as GTA SA. the next one would be probably VC or something.. it was really disappointing to me too this fact of non-having LV & desert and all that. Captain VXR
At this point I have no opinion about whether or not cities other then Los Santos will feature. It'd be amazing to get LV, SF and San Diego/Tijuana, plus a map that extends as far east as Monument Valley, my favourite natural landscape...........................................................................................................in the world. (Read the last bit in a Clarkson voice). Highly unlikely, but I can dream.

It's pretty vital to your argument, in fact. I mean, the basis of your argument is that SF and LV must be in this new game because they were in an old game set in the same state. Now, if that were true, you'd expect a lot of the same areas from III appeared in IV because we're not just talking about a game set in the same state, we're talking about the same exact city. So how many islands from III appeared in V? Was it more or less than 0?
TOMAHAWKS
I seriously would never buy a GTA game if you had to remain in one city... That's just unfair condsidering GTA San Andreas had a large map.

San Andreas was set in 3 cities. If they follow the same pattern from III to IV, then V will also include the 3 cities from SA. They'll be different, but they'll still be called SF and LV. Captain VXR
I don't buy any 'following patterns argument'. Otherwise there would've been Vice before SanAn. It doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of valid hypotheses arguing for more than just LS & surrounding countryside.

Set can be the base city. LS was the base city for SA because you started off there as your home and ended up coming back there in the end. I wouldn't rule sf and Lv being in the game. Rockstar never said GTA: San Andreas was set in only one city. It was known to be three cities from the start. Now here we are with GTA V. They would not try to mislead fans as it would make no sense. When they directly responded to the question on the newswire about SF and LV, that is as close as they can come without flat-out stating that those cities are not in the game. There is not a single shred of evidence for SF or LV to be in the game. There is merely wishful thinking and the only reason to believe they would be included is because they were in GTA: SA. All we have now are people trying to twist the words from the original press release to come up with any possible way that "Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside, and beaches" can include San Fierro and Las Venturas. It can't and it won't.
TreyCrll
I'm not exactly sure if V will include more than one city. But I'm pretty sure LA is the second 2nd or 3rd city in the US (behind New York City), and if V really is R*'s biggest map to date then maybe they're revamping LS to a roughly, more similar size in comparison to LA than LC was to NYC. So even if there aren't multiple cities, I'm sure that R* will give us plenty of distinct scenery to play around with. What ever they add, I'll be happy with, I'm just hopeful that there will be more to do in V than there was in IV. After a while it was just driving around, getting in to gun fights with the police and getting f*cked over by modders in multiplayer. V needs to have more replayabliltiy. Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches "Heads to" After Vice City, GTA headed to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches. Then it headed to San Fierro. Then it headed to Las Venturas. Why did Houser dodge the San Andreas question? All he had to do was say SF and LV weren't in the game if that was true. What would have been the harm in that?

soundbomber
All I know is every GTA game needs a good heist mission. I find it very interesting that Rockstar refuses to answer the question. This makes us think even more that San Fierro and Las Venturas could be in the game. They could have said "It's only Los Santos and countryside" or "No San Fierro and Las Venturas is not in the game". But they do not want us to know just yet. Why? Maybe they just want us to speculate, or LV and SF is actually in the game.

The answer to that will tell you how many of the areas from SA will appear in V. You're comparing parts of 1 city to 3 full cities. If the names of areas in Liberty City changed, then the names of the areas in Los Santos may change, as well as the names of the areas in SF and LV. The whole cities would keep the same names. At this point, the following are all still possible: - Los Santos only - Los Santos plus new cities - Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas Nothing has been ruled out. tomi19
A 're-imagined Southern California' could include LV since R*'s California includes Las Vegas. 'Southern San Andreas' includes LV. dude, the plates show the name of the State, not the city, Los Santos is on the state of San Andreas. Just like IRL, where the plates of L.A show "California". Yes, I'm aware of that, what's your point? Sorry mate, I quoted the wrong person haha.

Freezer89
Grand Theft Auto V bepaald welke steden er in voor komen, wij niet. Maar ik weet sowieso al zeker dat Rockstar Games voor ons wat geheim aan het houden is. Waarom? Om dat ik vind dat het heel erg stil is. Oh dutch language, you so silly! (well, as a german it sounds so hilarious) As for LS being the only one city, it's very possible and most logical. I really doubt that they can do two other cities with the same amount of high details like with LC in IV. So, I rather have one huge and detailed city than three cities which are small and undetailed.
AtomicPunk
I hope San Fierro and Los Venturas are in. Will they be? I doubt it. I honestly think that R* would want to give Los Venturas the same treatment that they gave Liberty City. Not some down-sized, really small version. It just wouldn't do it justice. They could do San Fierro like that though.

Exactly I would like more buildings in which you can actually enter by your own accord and marvel at how much effort was into the modelling the texturing the authenticity.Like when I entered that museum in GTA IV I was very pleased with the dinosuar fossils and Egyptians exhibits. For example when I enter a historic building I want to sense the history. gtamann123
As much as I would like to see the other cities in the game (only if they are all well detailed and large) I don't think its going to happen. With todays technology i dont think its possible to make 3 large detailed cities so i would rather just see LS done in detail. I don't understand why there are so many people on this forum that want 3 small undetailed cites than one large detailed one.
