I want to know am I getting overly excited for this game, or does it have the potential to be just as good as I'm imagining? It could be because i'm a huge fan of GTA. I've owned every single game between III and IV. I'll be buying V on midnight like all the rest of you... I feel like SA was the best game ever made. Not everyone agrees with me, and that's fine. No matter how good V is, people will talk sh*t about it. One of my best friends is a real hardcore gamer (his dad has a room stocked full of just about every console ever made, including 3 different original pong games) and the guy doesn't like GTA at all, no matter what I tell him. In fact, if a "Greatest video game of all time" award had to be handed out, I think it would much sooner be won by something like Pong, Pac Man or Tetris than any GTA game, considering the relative timelesness of games like that. But you'll find plenty of support here when you say V will be the awesomest of course, which you were undoubtedly aware of when you clicked the post new topic button. (Confirmed) Army Jets WWII Shooters/Bombers/carriers (Highly possible considering one of the Maz Payne 3 Screenshots showed an old looking Army plane.) Returning cars that have not been seen since SA. (Cheetah, Tornado, Hydra .etc) (Confirmed) And many more things that will possibly make this the best game of this generation. I don't think Rockstar is trying to achieve the best GTA game ever, I think they are literally attempting to make one of the best games ever created. So many studios working on the game, so much time invested in it (if I'm not mistaken this is the longest a development of a GTA game has taken) so kept under wraps and far away from public events like E3 and Gamescom. And not to mention RAGE. RAGE is absolutely revolutionary. It is the future of gaming and it is truly remarkable, when you mix the greatest gaming engine with the most creative game developers only magic can happen. I've only been a hardcore GTA fan for a few months (see my join date) and that is because the series is simply the best gaming series ever created. The story, characters, gameplay, originality, it's great. Not everyone will agree that it is their favorite game ever, some might even still say that things like Tetris and Mario are the best because they paved the way for gaming, I think GTAV will pave the way for future games too. In terms of gameplay and the engine and story and the complete evolution of Rockstar, I don't think there will be much of a competition for a long time. When you think of how much of an improvement IV was (from SA) in terms of graphics, visual quality and mechanics, they have had the ability to start off that for V. With 3+ years of development, everything that was missing in IV could be in this game and more. Though of course it's not good to over-hype. They've already done it once with San Andreas, which, like it or not, was waayyy ahead of its time, so I don't see why they can't do it again. Rockstar make fantastic games that set the bar each time AND now they're claiming that GTA V will be the most wildly ambitious and biggest title yet.... 36Chambers Posted October 7, 2012 Share Posted October 7, 2012 I am not only expecting GTA V to be the pinnacle of games this generation, but for it to be the greatest game within the past 15 years or so. That seems to be what Rockstar stives for in almost every game they make, only now they have the resources and the time to make a game as perfect as they want to. Also, with Rockstar calling this their "most ambitious" game to date, we can be certain that they know themselves that they have a great game.
