Racecarlock
It's not a marketing strategy, it's a disaster. It's not a plan, it's a mess. It's not a train schedule, it's a train wreck. Ok, clearly as a hardcore fan, you're aboard. What about people who aren't nearly as invested in the series? What the hell is rockstar doing to attract them. If you build it, they will come is not a release or a marketing strategy for something that costs hundreds of millions of dollars to make. I really do wish people would stop pretending this is some grand god damn scheme crafted by geniuses. It's not. It's a complete disaster that's clearly had a ton of delays, but rockstar doesn't want to tell us because apparently it would tarnish their god like reputations. This would be a good strategy if we were in bizarro world, but in the real world it's a complete catastrophe.

Apollo_33
I am glad that there are so many "12-13 year olds" calling rockstar a douche and a dick for us. I don't want to waste too much time doing it myself, so it is nice that there are so many people who are willing to spend there time doing it for me. +11111111 Seriously, I couldn't care less about those 12 year olds ranting to Rockstar. Saves me dirty work. And honestly, it just proves how frustrating this ''campaign'' has been for people. I mean, if it was a success, you wouldn't have a bunch of raging chicken coming out of the woodwork like that. If you want to look back at anticipation, refer back to GTAForums.com's state back when GTA IV was about to be released. Now THAT was something. There was legit hype all around the internet. Now GTA V's kind of a blur for everyone and the first year of its announcement will be tarnished by the fanbase's anger and frustration. Seriously, who the f*ck's winning in this situation? Rockstar? No. Fans? f*ck no (we've got jack sh*t besides a few screenshots and an outdated trailer) - we all feel kind of left on the left on the side with nothing to discuss about. All I remember last year was anticipation and frustration on top of frustration.
Finn 7 five 11
By the way, anyone saying that people here are not being immature, are immature, because clearly you cannot understand what immaturity is, therefore you must be immature. False, that's technically ignorance, not immaturity. But I agree with you. No, you don't get it, i can see how that happened due to the way i worded my post, but this is what i meant: Immature people understand the concept of maturity and immaturity, so they aren't ignorant of the term. But they cannot recognise it because they are being blinded by their own immaturity. Same thing happens to me on occasion. I can be an asshole sometimes, i understand what an asshole is and i can even recognise an asshole, but at the time i don't realize i am being an asshole. aj10101
I work in the gaming industry, but not video games, I deal cards for a poker room. The thing that comforts me most about this industry is the job security. Know matter what we do, no matter how much money we take in rake, no matter how crappy the food is, the degenerates want to gamble. It's a great analogy for GTA, check it out. You could play in a home game with your buddies, (You could play the old GTA games or play an inferior competitor game) but you couldn't win as much money (but you wouldn't have as much fun) and you'd be taking money from your friends and it wouldn't feel as good (it wouldn't be the same as GTA V). So that being said, the casino could not have a waitress and not feed the players (Rockstar could give us no info from here until release date) but the degenerates will still come and play, because that is the only place to get the action that they are looking for. (But we would still by the game because we want to play the newest GTA game). They will bitch and moan about the service and the conditions they are playing in, (We will bitch and moan about the lack of information we are being given) the whole time we are shuffling the cards and after we push the pot (All through development, and you know there will be nitpickers when the game comes out,) But when there is money in the pot and somebody can win it you don't hear nothing about the service or conditions. (But on release day we will all walk into our game store and slap down our money to take home our copy of GTA V). Those same complainers will sit at the table for half of their life and keep gambling away their money. It doesn't matter if we feed them 5 course meals or if we feed them bread and butter, because they are degenerate gambelers and they can't gamble anywhere else. (And it won't matter if there was a trailer every month or if there were no trailers at all, we are degenerate GTA fans and we can't get the GTA experience anywhere else). If there was competition, if it wasn't government monopolized then we would have to lower our rake and offer better food to keep our player base from going to different games (If anybody could make a game as good as GTA then they would have to do more marketing and give us more information), But since we are the only game in town we can do what we want and we will still make a rediculous amount of money.(But GTA is the only game offers the full GTA experience, so Rockstar can do what they want and they will still make a rediculous amount of money.) BlackLightning
Check my sig. It is what it is until Rockstar decide to pull their collective head out of their ass. You can think that they're doing this on purpose. But I can guarantee you that they're not.

Official General
@ OP Don't be silly man. Not everyone that complains about Rockstar's long, drawn-out lack of information for GTA V is immature or kids. At first, I too thought "be patient", but Rockstar are really taking the piss now. This extremely lengthy process of no V info is actually killing the hype of the game, Rockstar need to realise this. It is very possible that as a result of people may not be so pumped up for the game, and it might lose it's pre-release hype momentum, thus maybe affecting sales. There has been no second trailer, no official previews, or even info on characters and the story, over a year since the first trailer was release. Its outrageous. Rockstar deserve a bit of criticism for this, stop brown-nosing them like you owe them something. We are their customers as GTA fans and we have a right to complain about the way they are handling things with V. Like someone said earlier, the mature thing to do is ignore those who you believe to be immature. And before you or anyone else tells me, "oh you are gonna be the first to run and buy a copy of V", of course I will get V. I'm a big GTA fan, I will still get it. But I still have the right to express discontent.
HeliWolf420
I've given this some thought. Isn't it very immature of us to constantly rant on about how Rockstar sucks because they don't give us information about GTA V? I myself have given them a lot of hate in various threads, but come to think of it, Rockstar is doing this for a reason. We may not know why Rockstar has chosen this marketing strategy, and it may strike us, the fans, as weird and mean, but we should respect Rockstar's way of thinking. They have a vision, an idea of a GTA V, which we know little about, so instead of acting like little children we should just wait and see what Rockstar has in store for us. It's going to be good when it happens, that we know, so once and for all: Stop hating Rockstar. They know what they're doing. Please be mature enough to understand that there might be some truth to what I'm saying. Completely agree. Pretty much everyone on this forum that I've seen has a very childlike sense of entitlement. As if R* owes us something. R* will do what's best for R* and it's parent, in every case. There's a reason for the lack of information and every single person on this forum will forget the past year the moment another trailer drops or there's an info dump in a magazine. I especially laugh at the people guessing trailer release dates as if they have any knowledge or authority on the matter at all. It's the same with Metal Gear Solid fans, they expect Kojima to hold their hand until release, forgetting that Kojima will always do what's best for Hideo Kojima, Kojima Productions and KONAMI. Yes they owe us something. Cause yes, without us, they would probably still programming in their garage. Rockstar has become what they are, because people like us, make them famous, buy their games (and not pirating), make viral marketing, speak of them to friends and so on. Yes we deserve one thing : respect. Sure there is a reason for the lack information (which is, i think, that the development is not going well), but at least, instead of repeting be patient, they could take us into consideration. A screen, or even just not telling sh*t as a few.. or so. 90% of people whining here (including me) doesn t rage against the lack information but the way they do it. Alan wake for example has a huge lack of information but i never see anyone conplains, as it was told before. When they began to speak about, they never hide behind any "or so". To conclude, stop licking R* ass. They wont retribute you for your flawless support This communication is a total failure

Dragonjack
Lol funny name. To be honest I think its best for Rockstar to just give us some infomention already and i'm kind of not feeling very good what Rockstar is doing with there games right now. Have you seen the Max Payne 3 DLCs? It was suppose to come out last month and this month as well. But Rockstar is competetly working hard on the DLCs for quite some time. It made me wonder...That we might expect some GTAV news right after the Max Payne 3 DLCs Are out in my opinion.
