HugoDuarteGK
The Felling of GTA:IV after GTA:V (SORRY) I was thinking at the time of GTA: San Andreas GTA: III was old fashioned while GTA: San Andreas had airplanes, casinos, car mods, and a large map, GTA: III had almost nothing like it just the basics, helicopters and other things ... and it reminds me of GTA: IV in comparison with what appears to be the GTA: V (Planes, Car Mods, Large Maps and RPG elements...) VS VS Show your opinion, THX and sorry my bad english... Edited October 6, 2012 by HugoDuarteGK

Game2048
I hope, not too much. I prefer to see the realistic world like in GTA IV but, perhaps, more rich like in SA. However I don't want to see the game, which made in SA - fun style. Edited October 7, 2012 by Game2048
Degrees
Hate to see another GTA as limited as IV was ugh, but from the looks of the trailer and screen shots that isn't the case. Good.
The_Majestic
Great topic I agree once GTA V comes out IV will be almost unplayable...and that's coming from someone who's been playing IV on and off since 2008 and still plays it to this day... V's map size by itself will like San Andreas vs. III like you said...Biggest open world game to date...
TheD94
Of course GTAV will be better than GTAIV, because GTAIV has the basic engine and such stuff. GTAV will be more advanced and upgraded.
inflamedeyeball
I really hope that's the case. Or, R* continues along the path they've chosen with IV, by sacrificing even more gameplay in favour of animation, AI and physics because of Saints Row. I dread to see that happen, but find it comfortingly unlikely. edit:spelling Edited October 7, 2012 by inflamedeyeball
I Shot The Sheriff
I think the same, it's pretty obvious tho. By that rule of three, GTA V has gotta be a motherf*cking legend, and I like that idea just because everything it implies
simonp92
IV will still be amazing in my book. No matter how much content V might have. Besides I'm really more interested in the story than the content. To give you an example I liked TLAD better than TBOGT. I know right?

I think one of IV's drawbacks wa that Rockstar cut/did not include too many traditional features - which many fans were displeased with. We can already see Rockstar have possibly released this now that GTA V should features plane, bicycles and semi-trucks. I just hope other staples return. But yes - I think GTA V has the real potentional to make IV unplayable.

Besides I'm really more interested in the story than the content. To give you an example I liked TLAD better than TBOGT. I know right? What's wrong with that? TL&D had a good storyline and being part of a crime family which wasn't the mafia or a street gang was a nice change. Too bad it was too short. Besides TBOGT had some missions that were out of place for Luis imo and the final mission should have been Niko's its so was a Niko mission. Plus he had bigger issues with the guy than Luis and Tony did. Even though IV was a bit of a disappoint imo I can understand why some people may like it more than SA. Based of story and the engine etc etc.

HoboDealer
Apparently they only used about 10% of the engine as a whole for the game. If this is true, then GTA V will indeed be mind blowing. Like you say OP, V will definately feel like the jump from III to SA. This time R* doesn't have to spend so much time on the engine, and can focus much more on the content (which in my opinion was GTA IV's weak spot). bhijm
I hope so. Anyway, it would be easy to improve IV's "feelings"
MosquitoSmasher
I wanted a countryside in IV, wasn't there. I wanted bicycles, but they weren't there. I wanted much more possibilities and interactions, but it kinda fell short of that. GTA V....has them all. And much more, i'm happy.

I see a lot off the "fun" stuff returning to V...idk if that means we get the amount cheats we had in San Andreas (though if we did it would be awesome) since I think they are still going for realism But with the realism element they also heard the cries from the fans of IV that they wanted more of the "fun" to return so I expect tons of new stuff. The V multiplayer will be enough for me to never play IV again (i'm sure I will but it won't be the same...at all)...not to mention I will be saying goodbye to my friends and family for awhile when V drops... I can't wait to be having dogfights in multiplayer and get shot down/shoot someone else down and parachute into the mountains and escape through the trees in the countryside...this effing game is going to be EPIC

AuSsIeThUnDeR36
So V will be like the upgrade to IV like SA was the upgrade to III? Yes of course it is. Once V comes out, no one will be playing IV but I'll still play San Andreas over IV any day I'll always go back to GTA IV even after GTA V releases. It's easily one of my favourite games this gen. I know GTA V will be a better game, but if people still play GTA III why wouldn't a hardcore fan of GTA IV play it?

grope_4_that_date
I will go back to playing IV just to revisit Liberty City and I will probably say "Woah...look how old this game is!" GTAV is going to be an amazingly detailed game, with multiple enviromentels. Like Sam said, it's going to be HUGE!

urbanfire
I think IV was basic because it was a new engine and they were getting used to it. Apparently they only used about 10% of the engine as a whole for the game. I kind of feel they wasted the opportunity. GTA V is clearly the last GTA this console. Which means we've only had two major GTA releases on this RAGE system. With next Gen console coming out rumoured next year, that means new dev kit and going back to the drawing board. GTA 3 set the stone for VC and SA, and GTA 4 set the stone for GTA V. Yet VC and SA were released 1-2 years apart, and GTA V seems to have the same development cycle time as GTA IV. Either they have something enormous hidden in this game, or they started making it only 1-2 years ago.

TBOGT was released for the xbox on october 29th 2009, assuming they already ported it to PC and PS3 by then; development of GTA V would have started either late 2009 or early 2010. That's about 3 years of development only.
