Arsen Vitiuk
So today I picked up my GTA III disc for PS2 and started playing it again after a month break. I loaded my Ultimate Starter Save that was done before, back in May 2012, and the first thing I decided to do was to look through the Stats. And when I reached the 'Accuracy' graph, I noticed this: Apparently, I don't know how this could have possibly happened to me, but the most interesting thing is, that no matter how much I shoot off any gun in any direction, either hit or miss, the number did not change, and the value permanently stayed on '110' mark. This did not affect the gameplay in any way, but I just decided to share this find with you guys. And ask other PS2 players a question: has this ever happened to somebody else? Or am I one of the kind in this situation?
MrMateczko
You're simply genetically superior. 110% of power! Being serious, this is very interesting. I've never encounted something like this in any GTA. I think it's a memory card corruption.
lol232
That happens in all Versions as well! I had 179% on my Old PC, and I had 104% on the XBOX, though, it went to 63% all of sudden. No idea how that happened. It also happens in GTA Vice City. Well, I had 5,674% Accuracy in GTA Vice City once, lost the save, not sure how it happens in III, but in GTA Vice City if you shoot from the Hunter, when the bullet misses it doesn't count in the stats, however when it hits it counts, though, after you shoot 100 Bullets from any gun in GTA Vice City, accurate or inaccurate, it just drops below what you have, it dropped from 5,674% to 90%. The Record for accuracy in GTA VC is 1,000,000%... Now that I remember playing CoDMW2 killing 2 targets in 1 Shot multiple times, in The Pit (Shooting Test) I got 144% Accuracy Bonus because of that. Maybe, when using the rocket launcher, you kill 2 People at once, so it counts like 1 Bullet, equals 200% accuracy, 3 People killed with a single rocket launcher missile it's 300% and so on. Arsen Vitiuk
Rockets don't count towards the 'Accuracy' stat at all, I checked it. And from Vice City onwards, they only count towards the 'Kgs of Explosives Used' stat, and don't count towards the 'Bullets Fired' Stat.
lol232
Maybe M16 or Rhino? It definitely has something to do with Killing 2 or more People with one bullet.
Arsen Vitiuk
Rhino's shells don't count nowhere in any GTA III era game - neither the 'Bullets Fired' nor the 'Kgs of Explosives Used' stats, disregard the 'Accuracy' stat. So... That leaves us only with regular firearms to think of.
lol232
Hmmm... Maybe it was the M16, AK-47 or Sniper... Try firing 100 Bullets from the Colt and see what happens?
Arsen Vitiuk
Doesn't affect it in no way. The value remains 110...
lol232
It's probably a bug then, I guess... Are you sure the bullets you shot were missed? Also, you get 550 Criminal Rating Score for that since for an Each accuracy point you get 5 CR, just like GTA Vice City.
Arsen Vitiuk
I shot and I missed - it doesn't work anyway. But, I don't think this bug is going to cause me any problems. Quite the contrary - I get extra 50 Criminal Rating Points for free! Man, I love such bugs! I really do!
lol232
[cololor=00ffff]Correction, 550* Criminal Rating points. But you ain't nevah gonna beat my 700k CR Points, yo! On mah way to 1 Million. Sorry, you will only get the save once I hit 1 Million. I do like bugs like that too![/cololor] Edit: Cololor? Again! F*ck it, I'll just leave it that way! Arsen Vitiuk
No, I mean it, 50 CR points. Because without this bug I could theoretically get only 500. And this way I get extra 50 points I wouldn't get in a normal way.
Arsen Vitiuk
All right, another update: now this screenshot was taken from a 100% Save File just several hours ago: As you can see, my Accuracy increased, comparing to the Ultimate Starter Save. And even more so, I was able to find the catch behind the trick. To get your accuracy over 100% you have to shoot with M16 !!! When you shoot with M16 the bullets you shoot off the gun won't count, but those that hit the target add up to the total quantity!!! This trick is achievable ONLY through shooting with M16 - because other weapons will decrease your Accuracy rating. TubewayArmy
