Patrizio Posted October 6, 2012 Share Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) From GTA III, to VC to SA, the Pedestrians Riot cheat (as well as Pedestrians have weapons and Pedestrians hate you) was an incredibly popular cheat that turned the map into a warzone, with peds all equipped with a variety of weapons - attacking each other and the player. This was sadly missed in GTA IV and should definitley return. If you are unsure what I am referring to here is an example from GTA III (which also has gore mode on - detachable limbs and heads): There is a mod which covers this in IV - so it can be done, and should most definitley return in GTA V. I would propose two verisions: A melee only (peds have only bats, knives, katanas, knuckle dusters and fists): All weapons (peds can have anything - including only their fists): As the IV vids are mods they are not as chaotic as the III video - however, I would hope V follows the chaotic III model. Patrizio Posted October 6, 2012 Author Share Posted October 6, 2012 For one, it worked better in GTA III for two reasons: - Higher number of peds around than both VC and SA (which had low density of peds I felt) - The ped could have ANY weapon in the game. You could even do a survival mode where the peds all attack one player and he has to see how long he can survive. The longer he survives the more cash he gets. I hope I'm not setting myself up for disappointment, but this is one thing I'll be disgruntled about if they fail to bring it back. I do have faith though. tBoGT dabbled a little with fun cheats as compared to IV. They just need to further that, and bring back some of the classic favorites. Captain VXR Posted October 7, 2012 Share Posted October 7, 2012 I'm all for riots, and the opportunity to loot shops like a badman, taking inspiration from the 1992 LA and 2011 UK riots. "Manz gonna lick all dem shops wiv da mandem, you coming fam?" - as well as cheating for riots, if you're a member of a gang I reckon you should be able to start riots with them. Yes I know most people in LA do not talk like they're from inner city London, but I'm not too hot on American G speak. I also really liked the Riot! mission strand in San Andreas and would love to see a similar type in V, a few missions where the gameplay changes due to some large event! I'm pretty sure it's impossible in SA, because in the mission where Madd Dogg tries to commit suicide he just runs straight off the roof instantly if ped riot is on, or even if it is off but you have used it too much. GTA V is shaping up nicely and appears to returning a lot of the old features of the III era and previously which is only a good thing, in my opinion. I really, really hope they return the pedestrians riot cheat. Look at my first post to see what it could have looked like in IV, and what it did look like in III. I think it was initially meant to represent the "Liberty City Survivor" game that was advertised in III. It was a cheat in III, VC and SA (not sure about the handhelds or VCS or LCS) but was not in IV. It gave me hours of reply-ability in the previous games and I really hope it returns. There are loads of "oh sh*t!" moments when you've ran out of ammo/have no weapons and a ped runs up, takes aim, and suddenly explodes as another ped kills them with a grenade or rocket launcher, saving you momentarily. As shown by those videos it was possible in IV (via a mod) and I will kiss Rockstar if its in V! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
