redx165
That's why i don't play multiplayer, too many noobs using auto-aim, shouting on the mic, and all around acting like f*cking idiots.Edit: I can understand if you don't like free-aim, but to claim auto-aim actually takes any amount of skill is just f*cking laughable. If this were true I would lose IV MP matches to newbs all the time. It isn't, because I don't. Autoaim does take skill. I'm a pretty avid Team Deathmatch player, and I can terrorise lower level players to the point where they just leave the game (I also still regularly get my ass severely beaten by players much better than me). Autoaim doesn't even the odds. You just have to know how to work it. Besides, the weapons that kill with one shot don't use autoaim (sniper rifle and RPG). I'm talking about IV here, not RDR or MP3. I don't know exactly what the situation is with those games. agree. To many people want to take away auto aim. It's apart of the game. Autoaim does take skill to use it correctly and to destroy them. mr quick
Something that has pestered me with IV and RDR was the lack of skill involved with online matches. I pray R* finally changes this up so the default is free aim then they can have a rookie 'casual' section that uses auto-target. I think it's a waste having a casual room, another auto aim room and then a hardcore room. I feel the online was very messy which led to it being hard to find games at times. I can almost never play any hardcore matches for the simple reason there's noone in them let alone ever played a veteran match. I know R* tries to make their game accessible to the many consumers, but don't cut it back so it takes out the need of skill to play.. Dead eye was a bust and with auto aim you can make kills across the map without even seeing them. The suspense and intensity of hardcore aiming sets the game excitement so much higher. When you come face to face with an enemy it's no longer a battle of 'who can roll and hit left trigger- right trigger the fastest' but actually requires skill of aiming to take your enemy out before they take out you. All I'm asking is R* to simply have free aim as default and simply one other room for casual aimers. Make it so online play requires skill! I can't stand going into a match where the instant I spawn I get destroyed by 3 dudes with dead eye, it takes all the skill and fun out of this game. If people want to play with auto aim then have a noob room for them to do so in but leave us true gamers be! HERE IS A NICE TIP GO TO PREFRENCES AND CHOOSE AUTO AIM OFF! CONGRATS!!! bowling...?
I prefer lock-on in these games because it still kind of feels like free aiming in past GTAs but just better. They should have better free-aiming like in COD. Not saying COD is a better game though but that it should have sensitivity like COD.

I still think auto-aim will be default. Rockstar can't fight nature. If they do change it though we can't fight it.

1DrfL
I think some people are a bit unfair on the noobies, they have to get into the game somehow. I happened to dip into the soft lock lobby today in mp3 because I couldn't get a free aim match and I have to admit, the low rank noobs in there were doing well, using team work, strategy, making use of the enviornment etc. If anything I ruined it by blazing through with free aim kills and melee attacks, I kind of felt bad. Not all auto aimers just run through mindlessly trying to lock on to people in free for all lottery of kills like people make out. Cant speak for RDR because I dont play much, but sometimes free aimers just need to get over themselves.
GrandMaster Smith
i agree. it takes more skill to stay alive in an autoaim match. i think it's just too fast-paced for the slow ass freeaim players. xD You can't be serious, right? "it takes more skill to stay alive in an autoaim match." spamming left trigger hoping to lock onto somebody without even knowing they were there DOES NOT take skill.. Like seriously who above the ages of 12 actually use auto aim in shooter games?? It defeats half the purpose of having shooting in a game.. especially pvp HERE IS A NICE TIP GO TO PREFRENCES AND CHOOSE AUTO AIM OFF! CONGRATS!!! And you can't do the same to go into an auto aim room? By the looks of it the majority of players prefer free aim. It's only the whiney little children who post memes that are bitching about auto aim and says it takes more skill playing with auto aim. Like I'm sure you fear change since GTA has always been defaulted with auto aim, but I personally and I'm sure many others understand how even in SP autoaim really immerses you into the game on a whole new level, almost like turning off the radar or something alike. B Dawg
If anything I ruined it by blazing through with free aim kills and melee attacks, I kind of felt bad. Why would you feel bad? They had assists but still failed, that makes you pro.

Auto aimers are kind of adorable, like little kittens playing with balls of wool, and there's me this aggressive mountain lion stomping them all, not giving them a chance, its kind of perverse. I never have the same pangs of guilt when I have similar success in free aim. Maybe MP3 the assist just don't give as much of an advantage as other R* games. It is annoying with the lobbies being split, it limits the numbers of players in both modes, I dont think GTA V will have any shortage of players though, and noob lobby is a good thing, like a training ground. The thing is most free aim users cry when someone kills them using auto aim. They cry like kids cause they lost. Lobbies they need Auto Aim Lobby kinda like Red Dead Free Aim Lobby maybe have it hardcore. I use both but I like Soft Lock. I can use Auto Aim if I chose but I can use free aim too. Keeps the game more fun.

I use autoaim most of the time, and I'm 30. If you play it like you said, you will lose against better players every single game. There's more to it than spamming buttons. In fact, free aim is extremely important in autoaim matches.
The Wereodile
I use free aim in GTA IV. I use auto aim on RDR. I use soft lock (usually) on MP3. Fight me. I love when people whine about "casuals" in their free-roam games. Because free mode on GTA IV or free roam on RDR is meant to be a competitive FPS, right? For GTA V, they should keep all the options they had on RDR: Normal, Hardcore, and Friendly. Normal for whoever, Friendly for people who just want to fight off cops with their friends, and Hardcore for the uber leet players who are better than the casual scrubs.
